Simple Soccer Camp

SIMPLE SOCCER CAMP AT MCDS, THE WORLD CUP EXPERIENCE AT HOME Miami Country Day School’s Simple Soccer Camp is designed to help players develop their full potential by providing them with a sound foundation of soccer skills. Simple Soccer embraces training for the individual player in all aspects of soccer, starting with personal skills and techniques. The camp features skill competitions including: juggling, dribbling, shooting, passing, and small-sided games. Led by FACA Hall of Fame soccer coach Jeff Watson, campers will be able to enhance their soccer skills while keeping up with the World Cup in Brazil this summer. Learning soccer skills is great, but having fun is our number one GOAAAAAAL!!!

CAMP DIRECTOR

Jeff Watson has over 35 years of experience in directing and coaching summer soccer camps, as well as, coaching high school soccer teams with a career record of 451-200-63. Coach Watson has taken two teams to the State Finals with one winning the championship. Coach Watson has taken two teams to the State Finals with one winning the championship. Coach Watson has captured 14 District titles, 4 Region titles, 3 Sectional titles and has coached three Players of the Year, 21 Florida All-State players, and 27 Miami Herald All-Dade County First Team players. His Miami Country Day Team has received the NSCAA All-American team award 7 times. In January 2012, he was inducted into the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame of Soccer Coaches.

CAMP DETAILS

Campers will spend the majority of their day playing outdoors at the Koch Athletic Complex on artificial grass, but will also have periods of indoor activity at the Rose Athletic Gym and swimming at the Miami Country Day Aquatic Center each day. Each camper receives: - Simple Soccer T-shirt - Soccer Ball - MCDS Water Bottle - Certificate of Completion - Certificates for Skill Competitions

Coach Watson has a highly competent staff assisting him.

Quinton Watson: Four-year starter at MCDS voted Most Valuable and Best Offensive Player, FACA Florida All-State first team player, FACA District 23 Player of the Year, The Miami Herald All-Dade County First Team player. Quinton attends Florida State University.

WHAT TO BRING

Campers need to bring the following every day: soccer ball, soccer shoes, shin guards, court/indoor shoes, sunscreen, water bottle, bathing suit and towel. Lunch is included. Water and rest will be provided as needed. Cost: $70/day or $250/week * This camp is eligible for discounted academic courses & tutoring sessions through our Summer Studies Program.
