CLAUDIA SALOMON
President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration In July 2021, Claudia Salomon became the President of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Court), the first woman in this role in its 100–year history. Claudia is widely recognized as one of the leading arbitration practitioners of her generation, with more than 25 years’ experience representing parties in some of the most complex, high value and significant disputes. She brings her experience of representing clients to the Court, driving a client-centric mindset. Claudia is also an independent arbitrator, specializing in international, investor–state and complex commercial disputes. She is a member of the New York Bar and a solicitor in England and Wales. She graduated from Harvard Law School, cum laude, and Brandeis University, summa cum laude with honors. She also studied at Somerville College, Oxford University.
Carolyn Lamm, J.D. ’73, is a partner in White & Case’s Washington, D.C. office and serves as the Distinguished Faculty Co-Chair of the White & Case International Arbitration LL.M. Program at Miami Law. She was instrumental in establishing this annual lecture and served as its inaugural speaker. Lamm is a prominent practitioner in international arbitration and dispute resolution, trade matters and cross-border commercial federal court litigation. She is involved primarily in the representation of foreign corporate clients and foreign sovereigns. Lamm, former president of the American Bar Association, teaches a course on Investment Arbitration at Miami Law. She has been recognized for her professional expertise in international dispute resolution and leadership in the profession and has served as lead counsel in high-stakes cases, successfully resolving numerous significant international arbitrations.

Miami Law’s International Arbitration Institute is an embodiment of Miami Law’s long tradition of engagement with the law of arbitration. The Institute organizes a variety of in-person and virtual professional and continuing education lecture and training events for legal practitioners, academics, judges, government officials and arbitral institution staff regarding the practice of international arbitration.
This event is co-hosted by Miami Law’s International Arbitration Society, a student organization. The Miami Law International Arbitration Society was founded in 2018. It is a non-profit association of students and lawyers who are dedicated to the promotion of international arbitration. MLIAS developed with the purpose of bringing together Miami Law School students, professors, alumni, and arbitration practitioners interested in the study, practice, and development of International Arbitration as an individual discipline.
