"Miami is really good at creating opportunity, and I think the main driver in that is the faculty. We have a diverse set of engaged faculty who truly care about students’ success at every level, from the time that they walk in to after they leave as alumni."

Major: Psychology
Home Country: Vietnam
As one of 14 people in the inaugural Presidential Fellows Program cohort, Linh hails from one of Vietnam’s most prestigious high schools. Her reason for studying psychology is so that she can “foster a better understanding between individuals — in particular, among the less fortunate members of society.” She has spent time tutoring children in poor villages and persuading their parents that education can be a way out of farming for their children. Linh is also very involved in many leadership roles, particularly being one of the co-founders for a group called Gender Equity and Female Empowerment, which raises awareness of gender equality and preventing domestic and sexual abuse.
MIAMI STUDENTS AND RECENT ALUMNI HAVE BEEN AWARDED NATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS, INCLUDING THE GATES CAMBRIDGE, FULBRIGHT, GOLDWATER, AND TRUMAN SCHOLARSHIPS, SINCE 2015.
