Where traditions are made of insider knowledge, fiction, whispers, and winks. You stepped on the school seal? Too bad, now you’re going to fail your next exam. Need a dose of good luck? Rub a turtle’s head on the Tri Delt Sundial. Kiss your sweetheart under a special lantern on campus? Presto! You’re destined to be married. It doesn’t matter that these traditions don’t make sense to others. Not one bit. Because they make sense to us. Perfect sense. They bind us to this place and to one another. They’re part of what makes college, college. They are a foundation upon which great experiences like this are experienced and memories are built to last a lifetime.

In the stands or on the court — you can get in the game. RedHawk athletes — and the thousands who cheer them on — are united by one simple thing: pure, unadulterated love of the game. Because even though Miami athletics has a proud history with more than a few championship banners, we think athletics consists of much more than acquiring trophies. Athletics is that time you camped out overnight for the best seats in the arena. It’s the band marching on the field and playing the fight song while the fans sing off-key. It’s pregame butterflies and postgame celebrations. It’s friendly matches and fierce competition. But mostly, it’s fun. And we’d love for you to join the game. Varsity teams compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, and the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

WHEN IS A TOWN ALSO A LEGACY? Oxford, Ohio, is a place unlike any other in the country, a town custom-made to call home for four unforgettable years. It’s a true college town, meaning it was built as a result of the college — for the 16,000-plus undergraduate students who call this home. It’s small enough to get around by foot and big enough to fill the needs of any student. Follow the Slant Walk to Uptown and discover a quaint college town brimming with metropolitan ideals. Oxford is about 35 miles north of Cincinnati — meaning it’s near enough for last-minute adventures in the city, but far enough away to feel like a world apart. In other words, it’s the perfect setting for an ideal college — and living — experience.

Miami University merit scholarships are highly competitive and, thus, not guaranteed. Applicants not meeting the above criteria will be considered for a full range of merit and need-based scholarships ranging up to full tuition annually. Scholarships and award amounts may be determined by additional factors including diversity, audition, portfolio, intended area of interest, and athletic ability. Scholarship offers and award amounts will be determined by a holistic review of the application for admission and thorough evaluation of academic indicators, including (but not limited to) rigor of coursework, high school GPA, and standardized test scores.
TEST SCORE: No preference is given for ACT or SAT; Miami superscores, using the highest test scores submitted for admission and scholarship consideration. For ACT, the highest scores for each subtest from different exams will determine a combined highest composite score. For SAT, the best Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) and Math (M) subscores will be used to calculate a maximum single score. For students with scores from the previous SAT (administered through January 2016), the best Critical Reading (CR) and Math (M) subscores will be used to calculate a maximum single score. Miami University does not superscore across the previous SAT and current SAT exams.
SCHOLARSHIP RANGE: Based on estimated 2017-2018 tuition and fees. Financial need is determined by the FAFSA. Students wishing to be considered for need-based financial aid are encouraged to submit their FAFSA by the Priority I Deadline of December 1, 2017, and no later than the Priority II Deadline of February 1, 2018. Students applying Early Decision are strongly encouraged to submit the FAFSA by December 1, 2017. Scholarships are automatically renewed for four years, provided the student maintains the academic requirements as stipulated in the financial aid award letter. For additional merit scholarship information, visit MiamiOH.edu/merit.
Other courses, such as labs, may include additional fees. Be sure to check the course information when registering. LEARN MORE ABOUT TUITION AND FEES AT MIAMIOH.EDU/TUITION. The above amounts are estimates pending approval by the Miami University Board of Trustees in summer 2017.

education. Miami’s Tuition Promise provides all first-time undergraduate students and their families the certainty that tuition (instructional fee and general fee), room & board, special purpose fees, and course fees will be frozen over the four years of a student’s Miami experience. Stability in costs also means that renewable scholarships and financial aid dollars will retain their value over the entire four-year period. To learn more go to MiamiOH.edu/TuitionPromise.
