Warsaw In the next years Poland will remain one of the biggest construction site in Europe. From the cohesion policy budget for 2014-2020 Poland will receive the most from all the EU Member States – EUR 82.5 bn. EUR 27.4 bn from this amount will be spent on Infrastructure and Environment Programme. EUR 4.1 bn will be allocated for infrastructure projects of European significance in the field of transport, power engineering and information technology as part of the Connecting Europe Facility. Warsaw is the biggest city in Poland and contributes about 12% to Poland's total income. Warsaw gained the title of the "phoenix city" because it has survived so many wars, conflicts and invasions throughout its long history. During World War II 85% of buildings were destroyed but today the city is considered an “Alpha–“ global city, a major international tourist destination and a significant cultural, political and economic hub. Warsaw's economy, by a wide variety of industries, is characterized by FMCG manufacturing, metal processing, steel and electronic manufacturing and food processing. Many global companies are building branches, offices and headquarters in Warsaw. With even less than 3% unemployment rate, the city is home to major universities, high-end malls, government seats, churches and some of Europe's tallest buildings. The Warsaw Stock Exchange is one of the largest and most important in Central Europe. Buildings are representatives of nearly every European architectural style and historical period. Warsaw has wonderful examples of architecture from the gothic, renaissance, baroque and neoclassical periods and around a quarter of the city is filled with grand parks and royal gardens.

11th-12th JUNE, WARSAW
The program 11th June 2015 Guided tour The Royal Castle The history of the Royal Castle goes back to the fourteenth century when the Great Tower was erected (now called the Justice Court Tower). In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa, the Castle underwent largescale expansion and was transformed into a fivewinged edifice with an inner courtyard. It was a royal residence, the place where parliamentary deliberations were held and the administrative and cultural centre of the country. In September 1944 the Castle was blown up by the Germany army. In the years 1945-1970, the Communist authorities delayed making a decision on whether to rebuild the Castle. The decision to do so was taken in 1971. Funds for the rebuilding of the Castle which took until 1980 were provided thanks to the dedication of the community. Since 1995 work has been undertaken on the conservation of the Kubicki Arcades and the reconstruction of the gardens. Once these works are completed, and the Tin-Roofed Palace refurbished, the rebuilding of the Royal Castle complex will have been finalized.
Evening reception Dinner at the Old Town The Old Town was established in the 13th century. Initially surrounded by an earthwork rampart, prior to 1339 it was fortified with brick city walls. The town originally grew up around the castle of the Dukes of Mazovia that later became the Royal Castle. During the reconstruction as many of the original bricks were reused as possible. Warsaw's Old Town has been placed on the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites as "an outstanding example of a neartotal reconstruction of a span of history covering the 13th to the 20th century.
