lobally, international tourist arrival was recorded at 1.4 billion and the tourism receipt generated from international tourism reached a staggering USD 1.7 trillion in 2018. South Asia’s contribution to this growth has been robust and growing year on year. And SATTE, as theyear’s first major international tourism event, has played a critical role in the region’s growth as both, inbound tourism destination and source market for destinations all over the world. However, the role gets a

much stronger fillip amidst some new changes that’s at play to unveil a stronger and more powerful SATTE in its 27 th edition come January2020. The integration of the Informa Markets and UBM has been completed this year. Informa Markets in India, the new identity of the company, will bring out its first SATTE early next year amidst new synergy and direction that’s bound to further raise SATTE’s profile as one of the premier international tourism shows. Informa’s presence is spread over nearly 40 countries with more than 500 plus exhibitions and a market cap of around 11 billion pounds. Commenting on the acquisition of UBM by Informa and its impact on SATTE, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director for Informa Markets in India, said, “The combination of UBM and Informa makes it a larger organisation, with a potential for tremendous reach, and therefore I see a lot of synergies happening. This pertains not only to exhibitions but also knowledge sharing, networking, business intelligence, technology and academic publishing, among others. So what we are trying to bring in is a holistic solution to a customer which will also open lots of new avenues and initiatives for them. And this will be amply evident at SATTE 2020.” Furthermore, commenting on the change of the venue last year, Mudras acknowledged that it was a bold decision to shift the venue of 25 years necessitated by the renovation that Pragati Maidan is currently undergoing. The partnership brings UK’s largest corporate meetings and incentives tradeshow and Penang’s homegrown business events conference closer. BE @ Penang is Malaysia’s largest business events conference. srael Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) conducted a roadshow in Hyderabad on 26th September to enhance commercial ties with the Indian travel trade fraternity. In an effort to retain the growth momentum of Indian arrivals to Israel, the team interacted with over 50 key travel and tour operators, MICE providers and up-market leisure operators. The event commenced with a presentation leading to an interactive session with the IMOT team. The roadshow included interactive B2B sessions, education programmes and workshops to aid trade members in planning itineraries and responding to customer queries. The Israeli delegation was led by the newly appointed Director of Tourism for India & Philippines markets, Mr. Sammy Yahia along with Judah Samuel, Director – Marketing, Israel Ministry of Tourism, India and included representative partners from the tourism industry of Israel. Sammy is responsible to lead the tourism board’s initiatives in India while overseeing the development of policies and strategies to strengthen Israel’s reputation as a world-class tourism and travel destination. He brings great expertise and know-how to the role with extensive and holistic experience in tourism marketing, strategic government relations and investment facilitation. Commenting on the roadshow, Mr. Sammy Yahia, Director, Israel Ministry of Tourism – India & Philippines said, “The arrivals from India have exceeded expectations in the last few years and we have seen the same trend in 2019. eychelles Tourism Board successfully conducted three-city roadshow in Chennai, Ahmedabad & Delhi on 16th, 18th and 20th September 2019 respectively, to strengthen its outreach among the travel trade fraternity in India. To retain the growth momentum of Indian arrivals into Seychelles, the tourism board along with destination management companies, hotels on main

axibot is a pilot controlled semi robotic machine that tow aircrafts from parking bays to the runway with engine switched off. So as per a study this shall bring down cost of fuel used by 85%. A study by IIT Kanpur says aircrafts are also a big contributor to air pollution. Air India, has become the first airline to use this technology.
