Symbol of Car Company Easy
Case Study Summary I looked at 3 different Logos. One is Restaurant’s Logo (McDonalds), one is Toy’s Logo (Monopoly), and one is Car’s Logo (Mitsuoka). I learned that logos are created in different ways. And everything in the logo is made with purpose, nothing is accidental. Sunday, November 13, 2011
Research McDonalds The famous McDonalds Logo was created in 1962 by Jim Schindler. It was introduced by Dick and Mac McDonald. They have an arch shaped sign on the side of their new outlet. From one side, the arch looked like letter M, so they created McDonald’s logo as 2 golden arches joined together. The McDonald’s name was later added in 1968.
Firefox
Firefox is actually a red panda but the logo of firefox is a fox. According to Jon Hicks, the panda “didn’t really conjure up the right imagery” and wasn’t widely known. The logo was chosen to stand out, easy to remember and doesn’t cause too much distraction, and not overdone. Sunday, November 13, 2011
FedEx
FedEx logo has won many awards, over 40 awards worldwide. The creator of this logo said that this is the most famous logo he has ever designed in terms of sheer ubiquity. Their designs of FedEx are over 200 and the current logo is 1 of the 6 semifinalist. FedEx logo is also known for the hidden arrow between the letter E and X. The arrow symbolizes speed and precision.

Summary of Research I focused my research on different types of logos, reasons for making the logo, and meaning of each logo. I chose McDonald, Firefox, and FedEx, because they have famous symbol. Each of these logos have different characteristic to it, this characteristic is what people like about these logos. These logos have different impacts on their company. For example, FedEx. The secret arrow that they put there makes people think that FedEx is going to be fast and precise even though they didn’t notice the arrow. The McDonald’s symbol reminds people of the fast-food restaurant that sells burgers and french fries. When they see the logo on newspaper, they will think of McDonald and this is the example of promotion using logo.

Impacts on Environment and Society Impacts on Environment Creating logos means using softwares on computer, the computer needs electricity. Sometimes we burn fossil fuels to generate electricity. The CO2 from the fossil fuel will damage the environment
Impacts on Society Logos are used to promote something.Their main purpose is to be something that will remind people about one particular thing when they see the logo. It’s going to impact the society because when they see the logo that I’ll be creating, students of SWA will think of the design cycle and the IB learner profile

First 3 steps is going to be brief and short and we’re going to spend more time on creating the logos so we can get the best logo we could make.
