BRIEF
“1996” “1996” is based on two childhood friends who have grown up into young adults reminiscing their heartbreaks, puppy love, and the girl of their dreams. Taking inspiration from RnB legends such as Keith Sweat and Donnell Jones whom have express a soulful but yet emotional sound through their music. Capturing the all of the above mood and time set of RnB’s soulful anthems during such period. Through out the short/performance PGBR will reenact famous scenes from RnB artist during 1996 to express a love story of what it really means to be in love or lust for love.

BRIEF
RESEARCH As proposed I intend on shooting a music video inspired by R&B and Hip Hop love songs during the year “1996”. I plan on replicating certain scenes from several different music videoa and using the originals projected on the version I have recreated. I came across “THE INFLUENCE MACHINE” by Tony Oursler. The Influence Machine is a creative installment exhibited at Madison Square Park, in the year 2000. which captured voices and images of ghosts, both contemporary and historical, creating a seance experience that recalled 19th-century sound and light projections. Oursler experimented with video, smoke machines, a variety of soundtracks, to explore the historical and current impact technologies have on our daily lives.
Séance or seance is an attempt to communicate with spirits. The word "séance" comes from the French word for "seat," "session" or "sitting," from the Old French "seoir," "to sit."

BRIEF
“CASE STUDY” After taking time to carfully go through my self proposed body of work with my peers and lectuerer, I found that my idea was too cliche as well as unexciting. As this is my final major project I intend on making this project as powerful and creative as possible. I then took time to revaluate my initial idea just in time for my case study presentation. In developing my project I chose to stick with the topic of “LOVE” but rather than recreate music video scenes I will interview people on their “EXPERIENCE OF LOVE”. What I wish to accomplish with this new concept is to capture the people I interview reaction and expression whilst telling me their stories.

Active participation in events or activities, leading to the accumulation of knowledge or skill: a lesson taught by experience; a carpenter with experience in roof repair. 3. An event or a series of events participated in or lived through. 4. The totality of such events in the past of an individual or group.
“LOVE” 1. A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness. 2. A feeling of intense ANTO desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance. 5

BRIEF “EXPERIENCE OF LOVE”
LEIGH ASANYA 1.
WHAT’S THE FIRST MEMORY YOU ASSOCIATE WITH LOVE?
My first memory of love was the butterflies, the uncontrollable feeling you had whilst the person was in your presence, the feeling of wanting only to look into their eyes and weirdly that was enough for you, just to breathe the same air was potentially the best part of your day, the warm feeling you'd get thinking only about the way they smiled or how many creases sat in their laugh lines, the fact that you were able to go home to them made your entire day and yeah, that made you feel invincible, nothing else mattered and no one could hinder your light, because you were in love, happy. 2.
HOW DID YOU KNOW WHEN IT WAS LOVE?
I think maybe I have answered this question accidentally in my previous answer. When someone makes you feel like you can do anything, that is love in it's purest form 3.
EXPLAIN HOW YOU FELT DURING THIS ENCOUNTER OF LOVE?
I, personally again felt invincible, I would sing more, I would dance more, even smile more. Everything was exaggerated, the sun seemed brighter and so did the moon, when listening to classical the keys sounded exceptionally beautiful, not that they weren't before but there was suddenly a deeper meaning. You can suddenly relate to the generic love songs, there was always a warmth walking with you wherever you went because you sort of knew somebody loves you and as cliche as it is, you knew you were somebody's everything and in a sense that is.. everything. 4.
HOW LONG AGO DID YOU LAST FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE OF LOVE?
My last experience was six months ago. 5.
HAS YOUR PERCEPTION ON LOVE SINCE THEN CHANGED? (IF SO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY?
My perception of love is pretty much as it was growing up as a child I never had the outlook of all men being the same, I have never been bitter, I obviously have been in relationships which were unsuccessful but not once has it managed to taint my view, I think love is beautiful well it's wonderful until it hurts, but to me that is logic, having such intense feelings for someone is bound to end in heartache, what other options are there. I have always said I never want to become numb and that if i am hurt a million times I want to feel it a million times, how could anyone hate love, something that exposes you to utter bliss, no other emotion gives you the feeling love does, I am going on a bit, but let me just say I love, love and i love to see it.

BRIEF “EXPERIENCE OF LOVE”
MATTHEW ADEYEYE 1.
WHAT’S THE FIRST MEMORY YOU ASSOCIATE WITH LOVE?
My first long-term relationship with my Ex-Girlfriend 2.
HOW DID YOU KNOW WHEN IT WAS LOVE?
I felt this uncontrolable feeling, which would make me always want to be with her, and around her. 3.
EXPLAIN HOW YOU FELT DURING THIS ENCOUNTER OF LOVE?
When my stomach became entwined and I started getting butterflies when in her presence. 4.
HOW LONG AGO DID YOU LAST FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE OF LOVE?
Over a year ago 5.
HAS YOUR PERCEPTION ON LOVE SINCE THEN CHANGED? (IF SO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY?
Yes. Love is a temporary feeling if it is not unconditional. Love also has to be exercised. Love is like a flame which needs fuel to keep it burning when the flame starts to burnout you’ve lost sight of what kept it ignited.

BRIEF “EXPERIENCE OF LOVE”
JENNY LAM 1.
WHAT’S THE FIRST MEMORY YOU ASSOCIATE WITH LOVE?
My mum taking care of me and my siblings when things got hard at home. Obviously, mothers look after their children but I know my mum loves us by the way she bought us up, putting us first which she still does and of course she reminds me how much she loves me most of the time. 2.
HOW DID YOU KNOW WHEN IT WAS LOVE?
When my family are there for me no matter what. Even when I feel like I’m being annoying going on about my problems, they are still there because they know I just need someone to talk to. They offer advice and make me feel not so bad as I did. 3.
EXPLAIN HOW YOU FELT DURING THIS ENCOUNTER OF LOVE?
I felt like I was cared about and not so worthless. I felt kind of surprised too actually but I was also expecting it because I feel sometimes people get tired of me but they’ve always been there for me so why should they stop now? I feel lucky that I have a great family around me 4.
HOW LONG AGO DID YOU LAST FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE OF LOVE?
Not too long ago if I think what about people do for me but if it’s in general then I guess I feel it all the time. 5.
HAS YOUR PERCEPTION ON LOVE SINCE THEN CHANGED? (IF SO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY?
I’m not too sure about my perception of love. Sometimes I feel it’s a hard thing to love someone because it’s like you’re giving them your commitment to love them whatever happens but then I think about my love for family and vice versa and it’s actually not hard at all. So my perception, based on family love that I’ve experienced is always a good thing and that hasn’t changed.

EXPLAIN HOW YOU FELT DURING THIS ENCOUNTER OF LOVE?
Words can’t explain how it felt. Just knowing you was with that person made everything worthwhile. 4.
HOW LONG AGO DID YOU LAST FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE OF LOVE?
6 weeks ago, which is a different experience of Love. I felt my baby kicking and stretching inside his mothers stomach. 5.
HAS YOUR PERCEPTION ON LOVE SINCE THEN CHANGED? (IF SO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY?
Yes. love is based on what you do for one another, care, comfort, being there for one another. Now I put my little one first before myself even though he is due in 4 weeks.

BRIEF “EXPERIENCE OF LOVE”
NATE HILTON 1.
WHAT’S THE FIRST MEMORY YOU ASSOCIATE WITH LOVE?
I think it was when I was either 12 or 14. I was really into this one girl. 2.
HOW DID YOU KNOW WHEN IT WAS LOVE?
I knew it was something when I found out she had gone around and told everyone she wasn’t with me. The feeling of what I guess you can call heartbreak was unexplainable. I don’t know if I would call it love because I feel I haven’t found or felt it yet but it felt pretty close. 3.
EXPLAIN HOW YOU FELT DURING THIS ENCOUNTER OF LOVE?
Its hard to explain it hence why I feel I haven’t experienced it yet. Just real enjoyment comes to mind though if I were to say anything. Nothing was ever too much when it came to playing my role etc, to me that’s what and how it was meant to be. 4.
HOW LONG AGO DID YOU LAST FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE OF LOVE?
In the first few months of my most recent relationship I guess, unfortunately I fell out of love with her while I was still with her. 5.
HAS YOUR PERCEPTION ON LOVE SINCE THEN CHANGED? (IF SO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY?
Most definitely! My perception of what I class to be love based on that experience of when I was younger. I made a vow with myself never to feel like that again. From growing a few years and from the experience I cant actually say I’ve ‘loved’ (using the term very loosely) anyone else in that way purely based on the after feelings. As I said I fell out of love with my ex while being with her and I believe that was because I have a habit of putting people on a pedal stool. I always fall for that rather then the actual person that is here and now as opposed to what I may feel they can become if the potential is met.
