Forever Metal Failed Rubber Roof at 325 Center Street, Wolfeboro, NH I signed a contract with Forever Metal to install a rubber roof on 325 Center Street Wolfeboro and a standing seam metal roof at 315 center street on 10/15/2021. The rubber roof on 325 did not leak at the time and was probably 40 years old. However it did not have proper underlayment board plus we had extended the overhangs. To begin with the subcontractors had arrived too late on the installation day, installing into the night with flashlights bands on their heads. The work could not be finished. Most of the flashing not installed, open seems where rubber was to be connected , the glue was insufficient to stick and too cold. On the first day they also were using my light weight wheel barrow to drag material into the dumpster which destroyed it (that was replaced) One warm enough day in mid December 2021 to what was suppose to finish the main roof. They could not finish the job and it was becoming too cold to do any work. This left much unfinished work with loose rubber, open seams and flashing not installed. There was also a small section to do on the side roof which could not be done so the rubber and base board was left outside for the winter.
In the Spring of 2022, Forever Metal contractors replaced half of the upper roof which clearly was done wrong completed the small roof on the side. On December 23, 2022 a big storm came through the rubber roof above the main part of living room was clearly shown to not be securely glued and flapping in the wind. It leaked throughout the staining and dripping around the entire ceiling in many different points. There was water all over the main floor, counters, and the ceiling became badly stained. This indicates that the water came in from somewhere and now the insulation is wet. I immediately contacted the company with video proof and photos. Nobody would come but it was discussed that clearly the roof had to be replaced however because it was winter nothing could be done. I emailed Jaqui Gilman on May 5, 2023 with a response that it will be stating that it will be discussed.
An installer did come in may or June to look at the roof. HE DID NOT HAVE ANY TOOLS WITH HIM OR CAULK SO HE USED MINE. He removed the vertical corner boards which exposed that there was loose gaps where rubber ended. He sealed and then left the corner boardson teh roof-NEVER CAME BACK. I made several calls to your company no response. It had been stated a new roof would be installed Several people involved were either fired or no longer work there. I REINSTALLED THE CORNER BOARDS MYSELF PUTTING ZIP TAPE TO SEAL WHAT I COULD--THE ENTIRE LENGTH CLEARLY NEEDS TO BE SEALED AND THE ROOF PROPERLY GLUED. This week with the latest storm it leaked all over again INSIDE The ceiling is very wet water pouring out by touching the seam boards I have tenants in there one of which is pregnant. There is no question the leak is significant and now I am sure the entire ceiling needs to be replaced, and all of the insulation is wet at this point creating mold. THE ORIGINAL 40 YEAR OLD RUBBER ROOF NEVER LEAKED UNTIL YOUR COMPANY PUT ON A NEW RUBBER ROOF. NEEDS NEW ROOF AND CEILING WITH A PREGNANT TENANT IN HOUSE--A JOB THAT CANNOT BE DONE WHILE THEY ARE THERE. I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR A SHORT TERM RENTAL FOR THEM WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH A DOG AS WELL. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE LEAKING AS WELL. https://vimeo.com/896101262
YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND From DAY ONE your company messed up FROM COMING TOO LATE ON THE FIRST DAY NOT EVEN BRINGING A WHEEL BARROW TO TRANSPORT THE OLD ROOFING AND DESTROYING MINE IN THE PROCESS--WITHOUT EVEN SAYING ANYTHING--AND THEN UNQUALIFIED SUBCONTRACTORS TRYING TO INSTALL A RUBBER ROOF WHEN IT IS TOO COLD, AND DARK OUTSIDE USING SMALL HEAD BAND LIGHTS, AND THEN NOT FINISHING WITH COMPLETELY EXPOSED ROOF WITH UNSEALED RUBBER SEAMS FLAPPING IN THE WIND--AND CLEARLY THE MAIN RUBBER ROOF NOT SEALED OR PROPERLY GLUED. . AT THE SAME TIME I was dealing with the failed metal roof job on my house at 315 center street--one where the metal was of such poor quality and then flew off the top of the roof. Extremely poor workmanship on flashing and nails going through my open porch roof with subcontractors actually using and stealing my tools or leaving on the roof and half buried in the snow. That was a year of HELL--but you finally came through and so far so good on the metal roof--
IT ALWAYS COST MORE TO DO SOMETHING WRONG THAN TO DO IT RIGHT AND NOW THE FOREVER RUBBER ROOF PROBLEM Clearly it was not installed correctly that even you agree on that. BUT have chosen to ignore it. And now the damage is significant.
IT NEVER LEAKED UNTIL YOU REPLACED IT At this point I suggest a very serious resolution. Michael Travis 603-303-2599
