Why we Love Belle Vue, ~ A note from the Owners
The View, the View, the View In Fall, the panoramic view of the turning leaves is breathtaking. In the Winter, you can see the skiers torches at nite on Gunstock mountain and look at snowcapped Mt. Shaw in the distance which is really beautiful at this time. In the summer, you can see the twinkling lights of Laconia in the distance at night; on the Forth of July you can see lots of town fireworks in the distance; and you can watch storms coming in over the hills and the Lake far in front of you. The range of view is 180 degrees and it’s always changing, never boring, just very peaceful. The Privacy The area is secluded, quiet, peaceful, no traffic coming up the road, no noise from neighbors; yet you’re not alone. Since all the land out towards Beach Pond is Town owned, there’s nobody to disrupt the view--you see no houses. The house sits on 6 acres but there’s an extra 10 acre parcel included on the other side of Suncrest Drive (going all the way down to Beach Pond Road) We’re 7 miles from town (stores, Hospital)-only takes 7 minutes to get there; we’re 2 miles from the 7-11 store on Rt. 28 (gas, pizza, etc.); and we’re 1 mile from the Town dump (very handy); yet we’re “remote”. Being at 1400 feet, the breeze is always blowing, keeping the area much cooler than in town in summer. Our Beautiful Home. We have gas fireplaces for convenience, but a really good woodburning fireplace in the Great Room which is much enjoyed by company on cold winter days.We really use our Dumbwaiter for bringing up laundry from the lower level to the laundry room and sending them down and for sending purchased supplies upstairs. The Dumbwaiter serves all three levels. For dinners with company (like Thanksgiving), we put everything out on the large Center Island-buffet style, and it works out wonderfully. We really find air conditioning on those hot days to be a must, and the house is actually cooled by three condensers so that if one ever goes out the other two still keep the house cool.
We have a 12KW automatic emergency generator which runs on propane from an underground storage tank. The 400 gallon tank can supply the house with electricity for a week so we feel very secure. The guest quarters are on the lower level to give complete privacy for visiting families. For large family visits, two sleep in the Guest Bedroom, three sleep in the Family Room, one in the Office, and we put two on the upstairs landing area (or the Sewing Room) using roll-out beds stored in the attic. The floor of the attic over the Garage is built for additional rooms which can be easily added by adding dormers front and back. The main stairway to the upstairs is reinforced for the addition of an electric stair seat if every needed. All doorways are at least 32” for the use of a wheelchair. Two of the three showers are walk-in; only the Guest Bath has a tub. We really enjoy the Master Bath Jacuzzi because you can sit in there and look out, gaze up at the stars at nite, etc. We have a Cedar Closet for winter clothes storage next to the master walk-in closet. We have a bathroom, a utility closet, and a wash tub on every floor for convenience, plus central vac system, and we use them all. The Garage is oversized and deep so you don’t bang doors when you get out, and there’s room in the back for a work bench. There is a distributed coax cable system throughout the house from an electronic center in the basement, and there is conduit in Great Room walls between the TV cabinet and the Media cabinet and the Basement for flexibility in installing custom electronics. The house has a modern security alarm system with motion detectors everywhere (including the Garage) so we feel safe. The alarm system dials in to a central location, and the outside phone wire runs underground and up the nearest pole in conduit to be immune from cutting.

The Lakes Region
Panorama of Lake Winnipesaukee from summit of Mount Major.
Boat Life on the Big Lake.
The natural beauty of the Lakes Region is breathtaking. It is very much appreciated from the Belle View on Suncrest Drive in Wolfeboro. Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in New Hampshire at over 44,000 acres and 200 feet deep surrounded by mountain vistas and the best that Mother Nature can provide. It encompasses the towns of Alton, Gilford, Laconia, Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro. Each town has its own amenities and personality, all connected by the natural splendor of “The Big Lake”. You will find some of the most valuable waterfront homes in the State on the 180 miles of shoreline, though by comparison to properties in surrounding states, the value is clear. The lake is a boating, fishing, scuba diving and water enthusiasts paradise. From late May to October, the MS Mount Washington, dating back to 1872 and today carries over 60,000 passengers a season with daily excursions and dinner cruises. In the winter you will find some of the most unique “Bob Houses” dotting the icescape. Snowmobile trails criss cross the lake all the way to the Canadian border. You are in the heart of the best skiing in all of New England. Alton Bay has the the country's only FAA designated iceport on the frozen ice on Alton Bay.
