FROM MY THAI TO MY THAI BISTROS

I met My Thai Luksanan over 10 years ago. She came from Thailand to visit her best friend in New Hampshire. I was sitting in my vintage 1994 Miata in a parking lot at a restaurant in Concord when she pulled up next to me and stated—“that is a nice antique.” My response was “I’m the antique, this car is a classic”

That was the beginning of a wonderful courtship and then marriage.

A native of Udon Thani, she grew up in a close nit family surrounded by temples, cultural foods and spices from the land and kind people. Luksanan owned and operated a popular store in town and studied hospitality before coming here. She began to network with other Thai people. A journey filled with cultural exchange, new friendships, and deep connections like a welcoming extended family bonded by shared experiences and mutual appreciations. So many owners and managers of their own well established Thai restaurants across the state.

They have all become My Thai Friends. And the inspiration behind our new Thai restaurant in Rochester, New Hampshire

Our Thai Fest Beginnings

Every year brought together more and more of my new Thai friends involving 4 generations of family and friends gathering at our home. All participating in preparing exceptional authentic Thai cuisine from

the very moment they all arrive no matter how late— Our counters and tables overflowing with fresh lemongrass, cilantro, Thai basil, bamboo shoots, mango and carrots, being chopped and shredded by hand at one end. Warm pork and chicken being cut into bits at the other end. The grinding of peanuts and chili in a clay mortar and pestle. A steaming batch of sticky rice in a traditional woven basket. Made with the perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors, and authentic ingredients you just can’t buy in a store.

More than just a meal—it’s a cultural celebration full of fun, food and festivities for all ages, making each Thai Fest not only a culinary showcase but also a celebration of life and community-a blending of hearts and cultures. I call it The Great Thai Fest

At the center of all of our Thai Fests is our head Chef, Manager, and partner in the business, the ever so talented and entertaining and tallest Thai of them all, Phunnapat (Adam) Pabutta.

Native of Korat, Thailand, Adam learned to cook with his grandmother Boonme and other family members at a very young age. Sharing this cultural and culinary heritage with others brings immense pride and joy, as it allows people to experience a part of his background and traditions through food, enriching many more lives with his flavorful creations and heartfelt cooking.

Adam states, “Cooking for others is truly a special way to share a piece of my heart and culture. The joy and satisfaction I feel when people enjoy my dishes is immensely rewarding. It’s not just the cuisine that people savor. It also the warmth and hospitality I hope to bring to the table.“

Adam came to America to pursue his dreams. It is all of our dreams come true really. Rochester also happens to be the place where Adam first came to live when he arrived in the United States.

From Frozen Thai Fest to Hot New Idea.

One such Thai Fest included placing a table on a cleared section of the frozen lake at our home in Wolfeboro one winter. Surrounded by more friends sharing in the preparations of what turned into a hot meal on ice. This inspired the idea of creating our own Thai Fest from the cold outdoors to a hot new restaurant indoors (with a very cool interior).

So now it begins at 44 North Main Street in the historic district of Rochester, NH, one of the fastest growing communities in the state.

Even the number 44 is significant in the Thai culture with spiritual meanings of strength, self-discipline, balance, positive energy, and achievement. The elephant (seen in our logo) is regarded as a national symbol of strength, wisdom, and longevity in That is our business plan as well.

We want My Thai Bistros to be a Great Thai Fest experience for all to experience. A place to savor exceptional authentic cuisine and original dishes from super spicy to the less spicy I can eat. My Thai Bistros | Great Food and Libations from My Thai to Yours

The first week of our doors being open, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. You only need to look at the reviews on Google at www.MyThaiReviews.com and our My Thai Bistro Facebook Page.

From My Thai Wife to all of the people involved who have become My Thai Friends, what better name to call our new venture than “My Thai Bistros”. It will be a place for “Great Food and Libations from My Thai to Yours”.— sounds like a great tag line.
