HAMPTON ROADS

24th Annual Football Camp WEEKEND YOUTH FOUNDATION

2020 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Hampton Roads area has produced many young men who have become productive off the field while excelling as professional football players. Our community has either seen or read about these young men throughout the course of their careers. They represent the message we stress to young people in our community regarding education, dedication, responsibility and integrity. These young men have given the people of the Hampton Roads area a reason to be proud of their accomplishments as professional football players and as productive citizens. The mission of this program is to bring together the professional football players we admire to interact with the youth from our community. This desire can be fulfilled through your support of the 24th Annual Hampton Roads Youth Foundation Camp Weekend. The objectives of the camp are as follows:

★ Allow some of our community's young people the opportunity to meet and interact with some of their football heroes

★ Promote an environment in which camp participants will be able to see how education takes priority over football

CONCLUSION Based on the success of our previous camps, we expect an even greater event in 2020. The local communities have made a commitment to ensure that this event is a success, but we cannot do it alone. For example, the NFL Players Association has adopted the camp as one of its youth football initiatives. In bringing home local NFL players to serve as guest camp counselors, we have managed to give new life to the old idea of hosting a football camp. We view sports as a metaphor for life! The same attributes that propel one to succeed on the gridiron (drive, preparation, goal-setting and teamwork) will propel one to succeed in any endeavor. The NFL players and the camp staff will reinforce this point to camp participants continuously throughout the weekend. Through the Hampton Roads Youth Foundation, we organize various events in conjunction with the Hampton Roads All-Star Football Camp, such as golf tournaments and banquets, to help raise money for other projects. We have educational reading partnerships with various schools in the community and provide annual college scholarships for the youth who participate in the camp. With your support we can turn our youth's hopes into realities. We are grateful for your consideration, and hope you will join us as a partner in this exciting initiative to restore responsibility, discipline, mentorship and education into the lives of young people in the Hampton Roads area.
