“Never Play with a Woman’s Heart”

Dana S. Hubbard is back again! After directing nine consecutive sold out shows of the critically acclaimed Dreamgirls and two sold out performances of his self penned stage play Every Dog Has His Day, he is back producing and directing his Laugh out Loud and thought provoking stage play Never Play With A Woman’s Heart. When Myles Stewart was summoned to Courtney Dennis the assistant warden’s office, he encountered a woman that was sexy, daunting, and conniving. Courtney knows what she wants, and always gets it, even if it requires unscrupulous behavior. After reviewing Myles’ record, the potential she sees in him drives her to pull a few strings on his behalf. And with a body like Courtney’s how could Myles say no, even if there were strings attached? Surprised yet thrilled with the prospect of an early prison release, Myles agrees to be at her beck and call upon his discharge. Little did he know that her, “beck and call” would be way more than he was ready for or could handle. Despite his seedy past Myles’ longtime friend turned quasi-sweetheart, Lori Williams has his back. She does what any woman in love would do, support and provide for him while he gets back on his feet. Myles wants to do the right by her, but he has a few secrets that keeps his cell phone and his whereabouts hidden. Once Myles hits the bright lights of New York City and develops as well as rekindle past relationships, he underestimates the power of Courtney’s long arm authority. He gets caught out there in a nasty web of lies and deceit, and learns the hard way that he should never ever play with a woman’s heart, because they don’t forget.

Dana S. Hubbard, writer, director, producer, and CEO is currently celebrating his 35th year in the entertainment industry. His theatrical and film record includes working alongside other critically acclaimed directors and producers such as Spike Lee, Monty Ross, David E. Talbert, Tyler Perry and Dr. Alex C. Marshall to name a few. Dana has been labeled by his peers as a “renaissance man,” due to his commitment to ever expanding his brand and expertise in a wide-range of fields. Dana’s talent and love for the arts began when he was a youth. During his attendance at the prestigious Hampton University, where he majored in Speech Communication and Theater Arts, he starred in several theatrical productions. His talents won him the Best Dramatic Duo Award from the National Association of Dramatic and Speech Arts two consecutive years and also a nomination for the prestigious Irene Ryan Award. He went on to join and tour with the Richmond Theatre Company for Children. After one year with the company, he moved back to New York to work with Spike Lee on his critically acclaimed film “Do The Right Thing.” Other film credits include “Mo Better Blues,” “Steppin,” “Don’t Let Your Meat Loaf,” and “Malcolm X,” where he is featured as one of Malcolm’s key FOI. Dana has produced numerous music videos and theatrical productions, including “Will A Man Rob God?” and “Every Dog Has His Day”, a stage play based on his debut novel. His first feature film, “A Woman Like That,” starring Tyra Banks, John Amos, and Malik Yoba won first place for Best Dramatic Feature at the Urban World Film Festival. DANA S. HUBBARD PRESENTS...

In 1998, he created Camp D.A.N.A. (Dreams Always Need Assistance), an arts and entertainment camp for youth, which was located on the campus of Hampton University in Virginia. The mission of this weeklong summer camp was to broaden the interest in arts and entertainment. Courses and workshops taught the nuts and bolts of film making by industry professionals. By partnering with affiliate organizations, the camp provided students with unique internship opportunities. Former campers have gone on to work with the likes of Viacom/MTV Networks and Martha Stewart, Inc. Dana has also managed music legends such as Stellar Award Winner, and Soul Train Lady of Soul gospel artist La Shun Pace, and multi-platinum recording artist Freedom Williams, formerly of C&C Music Factory. Dana is also a managing member of Dana S. Hubbard Presents, a multimedia enterprise that converts urban literature into feature films and stage plays. His other business ventures include promoting his first novel, “Every Dog Has His Day,” which garnered wide recognition and rave reviews throughout the country by many publications, including Essence Magazine’s Patrick Henry Bass, completing a children’s book series titled “Milo the Mischievous Mutt,” and his most recent novel, “Never Play With A Woman’s Heart.” His unadulterated approach to writing, producing, and directing clearly resonates with audiences world-wide. Best of all, he has no plans of slowing down.

NEVER PLAY WITH A WOMAN’S HEART

DUCKEY Born in Dallas Texas, Cecil Armstrong grew up wanting to be an entertainer and was greatly influenced by James Brown. He played drums in high school and College at Roosevelt High and Bishop College. From dish-washing, to bank courier, to bus driver. Planning a trip to Japan in 1984, Cecil's business acumen raised its head when he contacted the licensing agency to sell merchandise with the phrase, “Where's the Beef?” This was his first foray into the world of trademark and licensing. Cecil ultimately found his way into the world of entertainment in promotions when he helped promote Patrick “Hoagie Starr” Curtis' EP “Get Live in '85”. After the “Get Live in '85” promotion, when preparing for the “In The Mix in '86” EP promotion, Cecil decided to take a different route and hearkening back to his licensing and trademarking knowledge and was determined to promote his brand “Shuckey Duckey” that he had been using since 1982. So, in 1986 with help of Patrick “Hoagie Starr” Curtis (who performed the theme song) and Terry Massey (who created the logo), Cecil had 10,000 fliers printed up and had them posted and handed out at every possible entertainment event in anticipation of his debut party on March 29, 1986, where the song and the Shuckey Duckey dance were performed. After taking a marketing survey Cecil discovered that the best way to promote his brand was through comedy. So, in 1987 Cecil embarked upon his comedic career by taking a class called The Comedy Gym taught by Sam Cox out of Austin, Texas. After a year of training Cecil made his comic debut March 14, 1988. At the time he was driving a bus by day and moonlighting as a comedian at night.
