The World Premiere of

THE FIESTA FAWNS Written and Directed by David Tuffnell

Step back in time to The Club Fiesta Norton in the 1960s. Mixing live songs from hit artists who played at the Fiesta in the late sixties, a three-piece band, a comedy turn or two and friendships that endure even death. “Men working in filth each day, they wanted to come here and feel like James Bond. Wives and daughters could dress up and pretend to be more than a twin tub and vim. And we were one of the main draws. To be a Fawn Gav, was like being a goddess, a mix of beauty and brains.” But for Sylvia, Vi and Connie, it wasn’t all Vino Calypso and Tom Jones… As Vi returns to the Club Fiesta in 2019, what greets her is a place unrecognisable to the one she left in 1969. The atmosphere is gone, the dragon tooth ceiling a distant memory, but somehow the ghosts of her past are still haunting her.

The UK Premiere of

A PERFECT LIKENESS by Daniel Rover Singer (founder of the Reduced Shakespeare Company) Starring Ross Muir as Lewis Caroll and David Stephens as Charles Dickens

Reclusive writer and photographer Charles Dodgson (also known as "Lewis Carroll") invites celebrity author Charles Dickens to his Oxford home to pose for a portrait. Dickens is so intrigued by the whimsical Alice's Adventures in Wonderland that he accepts. What ensues is a baring of two creative souls, the one private and fastidious, the other boisterous and irreverent. As Dodgson struggles to capture a "perfect likeness" of Dickens, Dickens craftily pries into Dodgson's personal life to get a handle on one of the most curious men he has ever met.

"So lovely and entertaining that you want it to be true." - WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL "Whether you’re a fan of these two literary legends or are entirely new to their work, you’ll find A Perfect Likeness to be suffused with the joy, laughter, love of language and the spirit of fun that the characters inspire." - SOUTH PASADENA REVIEW Running time 90 minutes plus interval £16 CALL 01642 81 51 81 TO BOOK

The Spirit of Elvis in Concert tour transports you through time from the ‘68 special through to the Vegas era, breathing soul into ballads and those iconic jumpsuit numbers that set the stage on fire. In Stoke on Trent in the early seventies, a young Gordon Hendricks played to an imaginary crowd, harmonizing his voice to a constant soundtrack, played on repeat by his sisters. Little did he know then that his performance would lead to a phenomenal career and being crowned “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artiste Champion 2017” at Graceland. There’s only one Elvis Presley and there’s only one artiste who captures his spirit on stage – the inimitable Gordon Hendricks.

Gladys, Olive and Elsie are three “vintage style” cleaning ladies who, threatened with redundancy, chance on an ‘unconventional’ way of earning some extra cash. A wrong number requiring a Sex Chat Line rings into the office and gives them a great idea… “Why not start their own Sex Chat Line?” After all, their age and appearance won’t matter on the telephone and providing they can keep this a secret from Dave, their boss…they could be onto a winner! What could possibly go wrong???? Leah Bell injects this hilarious play with a fresh and lively approach coupled with her own unique comedic style.

THURSDAY 4 NOVEMBER 7.30PM Rumpus Theatre Company presents

WHISTLE, AND I'LL COME TO YOU! a spine-tingling new play based on M R James' classic ghost story The ghost story to end all ghost stories ... Professor Parkins imagines her holiday on the East Anglian coast will be a relaxing antidote to the rigours of college life, an enjoyable mix of golf and amateur archeology ... but when a little light digging uncovers a long-buried bronze whistle, with a cryptic inscription, her carefree sabbatical transforms itself into a ghastly nightmare, the consequences of which will haunt her forever. Rumpus' production of M R James' The Haunted Doll’s House was "truly chilling ... 10 excellent" (The Reviews Hub) while The Haunting of Exham Priory was "fantastic" (A Younger Theatre) and Charles Dickens' The Haunted Bride was also "fantastic ... the audience jumped out of their skin" (The Public Reviews). Whistle, and I’ll Come to You promises much more of the same …
