MINDGAME by Anthony Horowitz

CHALET LINES by Lee Mattinson

4

A gripping thriller from the prolific pen of Anthony Horowitz, creator of Foyle’s War and contributor to Poirot and Midsomer Murders.

A funny and sometimes jaw-dropping journey through the years of Chalet Number 12 at Butlins Skegness and the women of the Walker family.

When Mark Styler, a writer of glossy 'true crime' paperbacks, tries to get an interview with Easterman, a notorious serial killer, he has no idea what he's walking into.

On the day of Nana Barbara’s seventieth, the family are awaiting the arrival of Paula, Barbara’s much-loved daughter and sister to Loretta - but the party is dying not flourishing.

First he has to get past Dr Farquhar, the quixotic head of Fairfields - the asylum where Easterman is kept. But soon he discovers that nothing is what it seems.

Loretta has had one too many, Abigail is hiding something more in her suitcase and Jolene is head over heels for a Redcoat.

Who is the mysterious Borson? Where did he get the meat in the fridge? And why isn't the skeleton in the closet?

Full of warmth, fantastically rude dialogue and a heart that is worn on its sleeve, Chalet Lines asks: can we ever cut the ties that bind us?

“Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful.”

Suitable for 12+

In this emotional rollercoaster oneman play, Jack Lane – who starred as Peter Pan in our 2012 pantomime takes you behind Norman Wisdom’s well-known character. After joining the Army Norman discovered a passion for comedy and began to perfect an act that would go on to shape his unique style. The world of post-war Music Hall and Variety embraced his manic slapstick routine, catapulting him to stardom in the early 1950s. Success on the silver screen including the hit song, ‘Don’t Laugh at Me’, sealed his fame. But fame came at a price... This is the first play ever written on the legendary comic and features his original Gump suit, on generous loan from Norman's children, Nicholas and Jacqueline Wisdom.

“Uke Sexy Thing” Directed by Peter Moss 8

Look out! The TUKUO “Uke & Roll” circus comes to Middlesbrough Theatre. The Brits are back after a three-week East coast American, a four-week residency in “DollyWood” and a whistlestop mini-tour of the United Kingdom.

Following a sell-out tour of China, the internationally-acclaimed Panto Company make a long-awaited return in a brand-new production of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale.

So many people ask: is it possible to create a show that cleverly combines music from Mozart to Monty Python, Bach to the Beatles, Chick Corea to Khachaturian (bless you!)?

It follows the dreams of a young girl who believes there is a better life for her out of the water. Will she be prepared to give everything up? And is it really better out of the water? Who knows? But there’s a handsome prince, an evil baddie, a funny side- kick and bucket-loads of laughs along the way.

The answer is of course in the case of TUKUO, a resounding “YES!”. Their motto is, musical borders belong to yesterday and nothing is sacred once Peter Moss and the band get their teeth firmly into a new idea.

With stunning scenery, eye-catching costumes, original songs plus up-todate chart songs - not forgetting loads of audience participation - this show makes for a thoroughly entertaining family day out.

Maxi-fun with mini-guitars!
