MEMORY LANE

2

Come along and enjoy some of the greatest songs ever written. From the producers of Memories are Made of This, All our Yesterdays and Rolling Back the Years.

Mozart’s popular and uproarious comic opera contains some of his most ravishing music and makes for an enchanting and hilarious evening’s entertainment. This comic tale of deception, doubt, devotion and the twists and turns of romantic love sees how a cynical old man leads two naïve officers into a scandalous wager, in order to prove that it is against a woman’s nature to be faithful – ‘Così fan tutte’ – ‘all women are alike’. As the story unfolds we see just how well he succeeds; at first the women are not willing, but later….well you must wait and see! Beautifully staged in English with elegant classical 19th century costumes, and performed by some of the finest singers and orchestral players in the country, this is a feast for the eyes and ears. There will be a pre-performance talk by Artistic Director Brendan Wheatley at 6.15pm

QUENTIN CRISP: NAKED HOPE

Written and performed by Mark Farrelly. Directed by Linda Marlowe Naked Hope is a gloriously uplifting salute to a genuine one-off, and an urgent reminder to live every day as your true self…no matter what they say. From a conventional upbringing to global notoriety via The Naked Civil Servant, Quentin Crisp was an extraordinary raconteur and wit. Openly gay as early as the 1930s, Quentin spent decades being beaten up on London’s streets for his refusal to be anything less than himself. His courage, and the powerful philosophy that evolved from those experiences, inspire to the present day. This much-acclaimed solo play, fresh from its recent Off-Broadway debut, shows Quentin in his beloved Chelsea flat in the 1960s, and in his final years in his adopted New York. ‘An uncanny feat of resurrection’ – TIME OUT Running time: 75 mins no interval. NO MAN'S LAND

by Harold Pinter. Directed by Michael Cabot A chance meeting between two elderly writers in a North London pub leads to an alcohol-fuelled night of reminiscences and verbal sparring. Hirst, a wealthy recluse, invites Spooner, a down-at-heel poet, to his Hampstead townhouse for a nightcap. As the shadows lengthen and the whisky flows, their stories become more elaborate and improbable, until the arrival of two younger men forces events to take an unexpected turn.

Touching, funny and utterly original, Freckle Productions’ delightful adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s STICK MAN is back! What starts off as a morning jog becomes quite the misadventure for Stick Man: a dog wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him, and he even ends up on a fire! How will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree?

In his most beguiling and atmospheric play, Pinter interweaves truth, language and memory to create a world of dark comedy and subtle power games.

This award-winning production, from the team behind Tiddler and other Terrific Tales, Tabby McTat and Zog features a trio of top actors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves.

This smash hit hilarious comedy reveals the true story of the famous Count. Taking you on a journey across Europe from the sinister Transylvanian mountains to the awkwardly charming seaside town of Whitby and into the world of the supernatural, educating us all on the perils of dealing with vampires. And now a message from your narrator… STOP! It is of vital importance that you read this very carefully. Your life may depend on it… My name is Professor Abraham Van Helsing, MD, D.Ph., D.Litt., etc, etc, of Amsterdam. I have put together a theatrical performance, along with three other actors I have hired, to warn you all of the dangers of vampires and how to deal with one if the situation arises. It is imperative that you book your tickets right this instant! It’s a matter of life and death. Now what are you waiting for?
