(Exploring Three Centuries of Philippine Art) & Ilocano Indigenous Art and Culture Exhibit by the Provincial Government of La Union

In celebration of the BSP in their 20 th Anniversary Celebration, they have organized a traveling exhibit featuring the BSP Art Collection comprising of works by different Filipino National Artists.
The event aimed to provide an alternative class learning experience to the students to help them gain a deeper appreciation on the works of National Artists and Filipino Masters. It also aimed to help them widen their knowledge on Philippine Art and to immerse them in Ilocano Indigenous Art and Culture.
This activity also in part, supported the local government of La Union in their endeavor to promote Ilocano Art and Culture.

COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS ACQUAINTANCE PARTY The objective of this event was to have a means by which the students and faculty can get acquainted with each other. It aimed to foster a sense of belonging to the CFA family, especially for the First Year students. This Extension Activity aimed to promote art jewelry-making to the selected neophyte participants with interest in the craft and with entrepreneurial inclination, to expose participating students and faculty who will be taking part in the operation of the project as avenue for extension services, art project management training and technology transfer and to Create awareness in the community about the Arts Month celebration and the products and services of the CFA-UNP particularly in art education, promotions and utilization.

The Repujado works of Prof. Lisa Ann Acevedo-Ilagan, a Senior Professor from the University of the Philippines – Baguio, were featured. The Opening Program involved CFA Students, Local Artists (Alinaga Group) who played native and traditional instruments. Atty. FROM MYTH TO REALITY: THE 2014 CHARACTER DESIGN AND COSTUME MAKING CONTEST
The activity promoted the talent and creativity of students of UNP in producing competitive costumes and character design. It also encouraged and developed appreciation of Philippine culture through exploration of Philippine Mythology. There were a total of 13 entries from the different colleges within the University. A Runway Show was held on March 7, 2014 to showcase the entries. Mr. Nelson Benzon, Mr. Brave Signh and Mr. Raffy Sy formed the panel of judges.
The event was made possible with the support and generosity of United Architects of the Philippines - Ylocos Vigan Chapter, Marsha’s Delicacies, Stronghold Insurance Company, PT DIamond, Kuboville, Archt. Instructors were Banjo Joson, Cloud Quinot, Marvin Cruz, Melai Balitaan, Jeff Baligad, Mimi Romualdez and Charles Carvajal, members of Black Canvas, a group of digital artists and designers. Topics discussed were Introduction to Digital Art, Design & Branding and Illustration. Participants were also engaged in activities such as Poster creation through the use of Adobe Photoshop to supplement the topics discussed.
