For a vacation with a difference, holidaymakers can live like the rich and famous on a French island hideaway, as Emma Rawle discovers

Granit Rose – so named for its reddish granite rock – there is a stunning private island where this 19th-century château can be found. fishing village of Ploumanac’h, which has a wonderful beach and a coastal path leading to the seaside resort of PerrosGuirec popular with walkers. From Perros-Guirec there are ferry boat trips to the Sept-Îles, which are famous for their abundance of sea birds.
Île de Chantemesle is one of the many islands on the River Seine in Île-de-France. A small paradise of about 25 acres, it has two charming villas built in the local style that can be rented for €5,500-€8,500 per week, depending on the season and number of guests. With space for 12 people, it is the perfect holiday destination for a large family or group of friends.
