Ford u Team Project - Fall 2016 16 Weeks Project Exercise: Work in collaboration with Ford Company /HMI department / Mexico City to develop an improvement with the User Experience while using ADAS Technologies. Case: Working specifically with the First Approach of Semi-autonomous Technologies UX. Watch the explanation video clicking in the next button.

PROBLEMATIC
Line Keeping System tracks when you have problems by changing lane but doesn´t differentiate the reasons why you fail at the wheel.
SYSTEM
Creating a system that can recognize the different situations why does LKS needs to be activated gives the possibility to classify them and personalized the assistance.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
INTERFACE
Creating an avatar that take you thru the tutorials to learn how to use the system gets more fun and friendly to interact with while learning.
CLIMA Professional - Summer 2015 8 Weeks Project Exercise: Participate in second stage (Design) of geothermal AC system project at Coope.mx Case: Design the Geothermal heat pump and thermostat accord to the previous research.
CLI
A
PROBLE
There isn’t a Geothermal AC system i of pollution in
EMATIC
in Mexico that considers the problem n the country.
IDEATE
Aesthetics and production logic to develop in Mexico.
PROTOTYPE
Volumetric prototypes made to be sure about measures, interaction and configuration logic.
FUNCTIONS HEAT PUMP Register and display information about the whole geothermal system as: input / output temperature, energy consuming by component, correct functionality of system and gives hints to solve problems identified.
THERMOSTAT It control the way of function of the system, user can manage temperature of each room, schedule times and intensity of AC per hour and see money savings made each week.
INTERFACE App basic architecture, graphic design and usability
OBSERVATION MACHINES In coolaboration - Summer 1 Week Project In the short term project “Observation Machines we will design and build individual models of a control and surveillance flight unit. The surveillance objects can be playful absurd machines, futuristic floating constructions, sensorcontrolled kinetic structures. Maybe they fly, maybe they can be remotely controlled. In any case they are artificial, critical, disturbing, snappy, ironic, pointedly.
IDEATION
Defining the ideas about observation, what does observation means?, Which kind of machines observe our daily lives? How do we feel about it? ¨Mentally wander through where we have been and try to make some sense out of it¨ These process help us to discover insights about the topic and lead us to a concept where ¨REFLECTION¨is the main topic in our project to develop.
CREATION
We create a smart mirror that help us to reflect about we being observed, using a mirror as a metaphor of reflection. We decided to make a smart mirror that activates by itself with a proximity sensor and starts to display in the mirror a poem that make us think about the smart objects and how do they take away our privacy while feeling observed by a machine.
TIME TRAIN Group Project - Spring 2015 16 Weeks Project Exercise: Cooperate to develop a project solving special needs from 2 entrepreneurs. Case: Organize and assist people in the workspace to be more efficient with their duties.

EMPATHIZE
First we´ve got to identify the problems in their daily basis, his habits and abilities to solve them.
QUICK PROTOTYPE
By analyzing the previous info we planed a second session but these time focused on prototype in a matter to get more ideas to develop a solution to their needs.
IDEATE
Now with certain info about our users needs and wishes we ideate some concepts.
PROGRAM IT
Now with a concept and design made we started to prototype, these time we even made the electronics to simulate its functions entirely.
BENEFITS MONITOR PROTECT ACTIVITY FROM DISTRACTIONS MEASURE HOW MANY SETS PER TASK RECAP WORK AND REVIEW SET DAILY PERSONAL OBJECTIVE AS MOTIVATION
LAAN Group Project - Spring 2014 16 Weeks Project Exercise: Configure in a collaborative way a project to exercise our role qualities by working in teams. Case: Design a urban concept car for Mexico City basic needs of mobility.
PROBLE
As in almost every big city, there’s a research that the principal problem traf
EMATIC
a problem of mobility, we realize by in Mexico City is parking space and ffic.
EVOLUTION
QUALITIES
The vehicle is smart enough to fit perpendicular to sidewalk so there is a space saved (front exit was required so it can be much comfortable).
¨SMART ENOUGH TO FIT IN YOUR LIFE¨
MAINTENANCE Low cost mechanic components of maintenance. Easy access to engine and mechanics components.
PRICE Fuel efficient. Affordable for people with minimum wage.
COST Body work needed in vehicle. Easy manufacture. Low cost manufacture. Cheap mechanic components.
MAKO Team Project - 2014 / 2015 1 Year Project Exercise: Coordinate as Team Leader and Improve the vehicle performance for 2015 Shell eco marathon competition in Detroit. Case: Low weight, better visibility, energy efficient improvement, easy access to poser train maintenance.
PLANING
We spend some weeks to make and detail the strategy plan of the year, set goals, expectations and times for develop.
ANALYZE
Identify the improvements needed for next year competition by assistance of professors and experimented teammate.
MAKING
After analysis made, I decided to solve the problem of power train fork and help to solve the visibility problem.
IMPLEMENT
I proposed an aluminum power train fork with 5 kg less than previous one. It has now the capability to stock and shelter all power train components so they can be tested without vehicle.
COMPETITION
There were Technical Inspections in the competition (weight, dimensions, steering, driver security, brakes , visibility, design and electric system) tests where made before compete in the marathon.
RESULTS
114 Teams / 28 Battery Electric Prototypes / 18 Tech Specs / 12 Complete marathon / MAKO 10th place in America First time that the university complete the marathon Best Mexican prototype in the competition.
Wheeltrainer Group Research / Self Design - Fall 2016 6 Weeks Project Exercise: Research the ergonomic and anthropocentric factors by prototyping, testing and analyzing the results in order to configured an object, considering also functional, manufacture and aesthetic factors. Case: Design a public exercise machine that people in wheelchairs can use. Focusing in human / object interaction as well as the phisical-cognitive perception that empower confidence of usability.
84% of motor disabled people in Mex in that condition after an accident or
xico get disease
PROBLEMATIC Because these fact there is a journey that new disabled people will carry out until they can go back to do their daily tasks again. There are many barriers that disable people will need to overcome specially the way they learn to use the wheelchair during daily basis.
¨We practice tennis because that way we develop better skills for our daily living adversities¨ Rosalba (Wheelchair Professional Tennis player)
EVALUATION
State of art analysis of public machines that already exists in the market in order to recognize pros and cons about their designs and usability.
CONCEPT
After field research made in collaboration of Wheelchair Tennis Mexican Asosiation (AMTSR in Spanish) we identify that if disabled people train their wheelchair skills they will overcome the infrastructure barrier they deal with in their daily basis
SIMULATIONS
Emphatic tests to know the difficulties of usability / Balance point of wheelchair + human considering weight / Balance + Strength to know the maximum angel wheelchair users can deal with and posture analysis / Sprints in order to create a fatigue factor data based.
10 TESTS ANALYZED
PROTOTYPE
After analyze simulator tests I applied those factors and measures into the design according to the concept and then developed a prototype to validate the design, in order to refine dimensions and usability.
DESIGN
Considering the outdoor factors to decide materials, manufacturing, mounting parts and aesthetic according to what it already exists in the market.
