Hello, I am so excited that you have decided to have your photo session with us. Our glamour and boudoir imagery is designed to capture you at your best. Every woman has her own unique beauty. Men and women each look at women differently. My wife Angi works with me, and as a team, we can bring both viewpoints to the process. Our goal is to show you how easy it is to see yourself as the incredible, sexy woman you are. This guide will give you an idea of what to expect, help you prepare for your session, and show you the options you have for your beautiful images. Why Boudoir and Glamour Boudoir and Glamour sessions with Mike Fox Photography are all about showing the beauty of the everyday woman. Far too many women have low self-esteem and don’t see the real beauty they already have. Many women are so busy being wives, mothers, business women, and more that they have forgotten themselves. Isn’t it time you took some time out for yourself? Every woman deserves to have beautiful portraits of herself, for her and her loved ones. Our sessions are designed to showcase your beauty. Our sessions are for women of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Glamour sessions include professional makeup and hair, followed by a photo shoot of you in ensembles that make you feel beautiful. Elegant gowns, little black dresses, whatever it is that makes you feel pretty. Boudoir sessions also include makeup and hair, but are for those who want to show off their sensual, sexy side. In both, you will be directed and posed to help you look your best.
What to Expect
Before your session When you contact us, you should receive a link to a questionnaire. Please fill this out, as this will give us some background information to help plan your session. Once we have your questionnaire, we will contact you to set up a consultation. This meeting should only take 30-45 minutes, and is a chance for us to meet and get to know each other a little bit. We have found that this helps everyone be more comfortable during their session. We will discuss ideas for the session and I can answer any questions or concerns. We will also go over the contract. Once we have met, and the session fee is paid, we will set a date for your session. Your session fee includes: • In person consultation and planning time before your session • Professional makeup. A professional hair stylist is available as an option. • Photography session lasting up to two hours • 3-4 outfits. (But bring twice that many so we have a selection to work with) • Private image consultation, where you will choose the images you would like to order Follow me on Pinterest at http://www.pinterest.com/mikefoxphoto . Once we meet, I’ll set up a secret board for you to pin inspirations to, like shots you like, outfits you want to wear, etc. We won’t necessarily be duplicating these shots, but they help you find clothes you like, and give me an idea of your style, and comfort zone. Your session When you arrive, we will first go through the things you’ve brought and plan out your session. Then you will spend about an hour in hair and makeup. I work with hair and makeup people who are experienced at working with models and photographers, so they know which products and styles work best with the camera. We will shoot for up to two hours, depending on the ideas and outfits that we have planned out. Don’t worry about anything; we will be there to pose and direct you to look your best. When your session is done, you will already have your hair and makeup done. Why not plan a night out for afterward?
What to Expect After your session
After your photoshoot, we will pick out your best images and edit them. Once this is done, we will contact you to set up your ordering session. You will come in to view your images, and select how you would like to present them. We have a wide range of products, from albums to wall art. After your order is placed, it takes anywhere from a week to three weeks for your order to be ready, depending on the product.
How to Get Ready A few days before
If you are having a facial done, please do it at least a week before your session. Tanning: Please don’t use fake tans. Even professionally applied tans can have uneven spots, and many photograph orange even if they don’t look that way to the naked eye. Pick out your outfits; try everything on to make sure it fits well. Do a little shopping if there’s something you want to wear that you don’t have. If you color your hair, make sure it’s touched up if needed.
The day before Drink a lot of water before your session. It will improve the quality of your skin in your images. Get plenty of rest. Touch up your nails if needed. Take care of any unwanted hair. Lay out all the outfits to make sure they are complete, and have matching underwear and shoes that go with them. Lay out any accessories that you want to bring. Often, a few simple accessories can make a huge difference in the look of an outfit.
The day of your session Arrive with clean, dry, hair and no makeup. It’s a good idea to moisturize your skin before your session. If there is a specific makeup or hair look you want, let us know before the day of your session. This will help the makeup artist with their planning. Come in loose, comfy clothes. Anything tight can leave marks in the skin that take a while to fade. Bring a playlist of music you like, something that sets the mood for the shoot.
What to Wear Glamour
What makes you feel beautiful? • Evening gowns • Little black dresses • Dressy blouses with slacks or skirts • Lingerie that works with the dresses you bring • Heels • Accessories – necklaces, earrings, glasses, scarves, belts
Boudoir • A sexy dress or a slouchy sweater • A fitted tank top and boy short panties • Matching bra/panty set • Garter belt and hose (A garter and hose usually work better than self supporting hose, which tend to pinch in to keep their grip) • Corsets (We have a few in assorted sizes, but http://www.corset-story.com/ has a huge selection of styles and colors, and usually has a sale going on) • Different kinds of other lingerie – bodysuits (lace or solid), night gowns, and sheer robes • Something meaningful to that special someone - a dress shirt, a sports jersey, or a uniform • Heels • Accessories – long pearl necklaces, earrings
Frequently Asked Questions Will my pictures be all over the web? Nothing leaves my computer until you tell me it’s okay - no online viewing gallery, no FaceBook, no website. You choose the level of exposure (pun intended) for every image.
What does my session fee include? Your session fee includes in-person consultation and planning time before your session, professional makeup and hair, up to two hours of photography, and a private image consultation, where you will choose the images you would like to order. You can shoot in 3-4 outfits.
Where are session photographed? Unless we plan otherwise, your session will take place in our residential studio. We can also go on location, if there is somewhere specific you want your session, i.e. a hotel or B&B. For something different, http://www.airbnb.com has a wide variety of options.
What about hair and makeup? Professional makeup is included in your session. A professional hair stylist can be added as an option. You just need to show up with a clean face.
Do I bring my own outfits? Yes. There’s no way we could anticipate the wide variety of individual tastes and body types that we shoot. We want your session to reflect you. We do have a limited selection of corsets and pinup costumes.
How long does a shoot take? Usually around 2 hours, plus approximately 1 hour for hair and makeup.
I’m shy. How can I do this? It’s normal to be a little nervous about this, but you can relax. First, you are in complete control of how much you show and what images ever see the light of day. You will find your confidence growing as we shoot. Remember, we will be right there to help you at every step, from picking clothes to picking images.
Do I have to show a lot of skin? No. We’ve photographed women wearing anything from evening gowns to nothing at all. Show as much or as little as you want. Beauty and sex appeal aren’t about how much you have on, but how you feel, and showing confidence (even when you aren’t sure you feel it). The most important thing is for you to feel comfortable.
What do I have to pay before my shoot? Just the session fee. That way, you aren’t locked into specific products and packages before you even see your images. There ’s no minimum purchase. If you don’t love your images, don’t buy them.
Do you sell the digital files? Yes, we make digital images available with our Albums, Folio Boxes, and Wall Art, for any image being printed. Clients spending more than $1500 will get complimentary digital copies of every image they purchase.
I still don’t know what to wear! For glamour, pretend you’re going to a dressy New Year’s Eve party, or going to walk the Red Carpet at the next big movie premiere. For boudoir, what makes you feel sexy? Is there some lingerie that you’d love to wear, but you just never found the right time? Bring more than you think you need, and we’ll help you figure it out.
Can I bring a friend? Yes, one female friend may come with you, if you need a little moral support. But, only bring someone who is going to be super supportive.
Do you “photoshop” the images? Absolutely. The actresses and models you see every day have more help than you might imagine. Why shouldn’t you? How much retouching is up to you. We have a standard level of retouching that minimizes lines, evens out skin tones, and erases those little blemishes. If you would prefer a completely natural look, or a magazine cover level of retouching, just let us know.

Products Albums
Albums are a great way to show and preserve your images. They make a great keepsake, or gift for that special someone. If you’d like to keep your images tucked away only to be seen by a select few, an album is an excellent choice. Our albums can fit in a bedside table, or sit inconspicuously on a shelf. Or they can sit proudly on your coffe table. That’s totally up to you. All of our albums feature your images on flush-mounted , lay-flat, rigid pages. They have “panoramic” pages with images printed directly across the center crease and no gap between the pages so your images can continue across the pages without interruption. Our albums are printed on true photographic paper, which is bonded to a rigid page core. All albums start at 15 pages. Album prices start at $550

Premium Album The Premium Album is available as an 8x8 or 10x10 album. It features an Italian Leather cover with a selection of 8 cover color choices.

Luxury Album The Luxury Album is a work of art, featuring handmade craftsmanship and the highest quality materials. This album includes many design options, including over cover choices, from silk and linen to high end leather. It comes as an 8x8 or 10x10. The Luxury Album has an optional Companion Album available. This is a 5x5 copy of your Luxury Album in a black faux leather cover.
Luxury Book
Folio Boxes and Prints As an alternative to albums, we have folio boxes. Each folio box contains a selection of your matted images. A folio box is our most flexible option. You can leave your images discretely boxed, or take images out to display on a bedside table, or frame them for your wall. Individual prints are 5x7 matted to 8x10, or 8x12 matted to 11x14 Folio box collections include 10 ,15, or 20 prints in a handcrafted presentation box. Folio boxes and prints are also available with a matte fine art paper. Folio box prices start at $450
Wall Art To get the most out of displaying your images, custom wall art is the way to go. We offer a selection of wall art materials. Wall art is available in sizes from 11x14 to 24x36

Canvas Gallery Wraps Our canvas prints use a high quality, heavyweight canvas that has been coated to protect against scratches and light. This material is stretched over a sturdy wooden frame.
Aluminum Prints Your images will be infused right into the surface of a solid sheet of metal, resulting in bright vivid colors, a rich iridescent sheen, incredible depth of detail, and outstanding durability.
Acrylic Prints Your images brought to life with the beautiful and modern look of polished acrylic. The glossy surface of our premium quality acrylic prints gives incredible vibrancy and color to your images, while the polished metal standoffs frame and support your image.

Policies Cancellation If you have to cancel 7 or more days before your shoot, we can apply your session fee to a later date. If you cancel less than 7 days before your shoot, or fail to show up, your session fee is forfeit. That said, we want to offer the best service possible, and will try to work with you in the event of an emergency.
Rescheduling If you need to reschedule your session, you can apply your session fee to the rescheduled date provided notice is given at least 48 hours in advance of your session. The session must be scheduled within 4 weeks of the original date.
