Welcome to my English Opening games page! On this page I display links to my chess games in which I played either side of the English Opening. The games include analysis and diagrams. I will place the actual games on separate pages listed by the opponent played. I often get the English opening by transposition from Benko’s Opening and the RÊti Opening. The English Opening usually starts with 1. c4 and is followed by Nc3, g3, Bg2 and 0-0. White has a choice of playing the Knight on g1 to either e2 or f3. I tend to play e4 and then Nge2. The English Opening often transposes into a reversed Sicilian Defense or a Reversed Benoni Defense depending on what Black does. For me, my ideal English Opening would go something like this:

1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. g3 Be7 4. Bg2 O-O 5. e4 d6 6. Nge2 Bd7 7. O-O Nc6 8. d3

English Opening after 8. d3
