He

joined the Royal Air Force in 1968 as a medical scientist and travelled extensively until he left the RAF in 1975 to work in the private medical sector as a clinical biochemist. In 1978 Michael took a break from his medical career to write and perform music. Playing guitar and piano, he toured, and played with several bands during the period 1978-1980. He also wrote, and produced his solo album entitled ‘Raindance’. In 1980 he visited India to travel for six months and in 1981 he had a private audience with His Holiness Dalai Lama who requested him to stay in Dharamsala to establish a medical laboratory at the Tibetan Delek Hospital. Returning to the UK in 1984, he worked as a senior manager in the private medical sector, and 1987, he started his own private pathology laboratory, and medical practice in Harley Street, London. In 2006 he gave up his business interests in the UK to retire and returned to Dharamsala, India, where he now lives for part of the year with his wife Natasha. He spends his time studying Buddhist philosophy, writing fiction, travelling, playing music and photography. He describes himself as a ‘trainee Buddhist.’ Holy Trinity is his first comedy novel.
