EditorialLY Speaking
IMPOSSIBLE IS JUST AN OPINION
be prepared to ride the rough road of failure with a determination to try again and again until you reach your point of victory.
Calvary Greetings from the house of the Miles magazine, I am delighted to have this opportunity, yet again to publish another issue of the Miles. It is at times like this that I am persuaded to remind you that with God on your side all things are possible if you believe. It is so written in the Bible that whatsoever you believe and do not doubt then you will surely have it. That forms the basis of my editorial this time. From former President Obama to present American President Donald Trump; this scripture has truly played out before our eyes; both were first timers, though one was a sitting senator before ascending the position of the president. It can be said that neither had experience nor the needed Washington experience to mount the highest political position on earth, but they did; because they believed. The amazing thing about the Bible is that it is no respecter of anybody (Acts 10:34), the spirit and power of God works by principles and not personalities, no wonder a little boy like David could apply the principles of the word and Goliath fell in shame and destruction. I want to speak to you right now. You can be whatever you have dreamed you want to be. You can achieve greatness if only you can believe, with God all things are possible… Mark 9:23, I placed the dots there because there is a condition to achieving the impossible and it is called ‘Belief’. There is nothing that can not be done with the power of belief. Often, we have a majority that tells us that it cannot be done, while a very few if any will encourage you to go ahead and achieve the impossible. I am one of those that totally believe that one can achieve anything they set their mind at; you just must
The oldest serving congress woman in America was asked as she turned 82 years, what advice she had for young women that wished to achieve greatness and significance like her? Her answer was this “They
can achieve it as long as they are willing to go through many failures and defeats without giving up.”
Wow, what an answer, think about it, if you are ready to keep trying, eventually you will make it in life. it does not really matter what opposition you might face along the way, if you do not give up then victory is assured for you. The key point is that your belief determines your achievements in life. Listen to me, the devil through various means like friends, relations, circumstances, situations and even your own mistakes and short comings will tempt your resolve, they will push you to give up but you must learn to find a stubborn resolve inside you that is greater than whatever contrary reports you are getting. I write to you that has a dream but it seems like an impossible goal to achieve, and you are about giving it up; or what about you; that family that looks to be at the brink of total disaster and breakdown, there is nothing like impossible except an opinion formed by mere men who chose to. The bigger question is; what do you believe about yourself? You cannot speak nor change the mind of people about you but you can make up your mind about you. The greatest deliverance that anyone can get on earth is to know the truth; because once you know the truth; power, light, illumination and wisdom comes into your life. The only true source of truth is the word of God. Embrace it selfishly and greedily. Read it for
7
yourself; ask the Holy Spirit which gives the inspiration to enlighten you about the mysteries of the word and you will be totally amazed how much power you have available within you. Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.” You are empowered to do anything that your mind conceive and believe in. You can do and undo situations first in your life and then in the world at large. You cannot know God or rather are known by Him and still live as a dependant on human forces. You have the power to speak and it will come to pass, to pray and heaven will answer, to decree and even demons will obey and to prophesy about what the future will be and it will simply come to pass. But you must believe.

His Law firm’s mission is the pursuit of perfection in rendering services to their diverse clients, using academic knowledge, intelligence, experience, technical and hands on skills. and criminal appeals; he has achieved settlement in malicious prosecution and other civil cases. Above all, Richard believes in integrity and will give you honest and well thought through advice in whatever matter you refer to him. Miles magazine recently sat down one on one with Barrister Richard and the following was the outcome of that interview:
Miles: Please tell us about your background (Family, Education, Childhood ambition etc.) Richard: I am from Efon Alaaye in Ekiti State, but I was born in Lagos, Nigeria. I am one of 10 siblings; 6 boys and 4 girls. My father, Timothy, was a police man and later in his life, a businessman. My mother, Elizabeth, was and is still a home maker. I grew up in Lagos. We were fortunate to be loved and cared for by both parents, a father who worked really hard and a mother who took care of us at home. My father was very successful in busi-
this day. I attended SS Peter and Paul Primary School, Shomolu, Lagos. After graduating from Primary School, I proceeded to attend CMS Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos. Upon completion of High School and Higher School certificate (H.S.C.) at CMS Grammar School, I gained admission to the prestigious University of Ibadan to study law; which was a dream come true. But at one point, I considered studying medicine, but I did not like the mathematics teacher; so I struggled in that subject a little bit. Quite apart from that little problem with mathematics, the allure of the legal profession was too much for me to resist. I graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1988 and proceeded to Nigerian Law School. I was called to the Nigeria Bar on December 14, 1989. Subsequently in 2004 I was Called to the Ontario Bar and also got my Certificate of Qualification, National Committee on Accreditation, Ottawa, Canada
BARRISTER RICHARD ODELEYE
IN PURSUIT OF PERFECTION THROUGH INTELLIGENT ADVOCACY Richard has assisted many clients in winning their refugee cases, deportation cases, appeals of negative decisions of tribunals, including visa refusals both within Canada and at Canadian Visa posts overseas; re-united families through family sponsorship programs and Humanitarian and Compassionate cases; criminal charges
ness and money was not really a problem. However, my father ensured that we had a very down- to- earth and humble upbringing. We mingled with every kid regardless of their status in life. As far as my father was concerned, our wealth should not and could not get into our heads and he thought us to be humble and respectful to everyone. I carry that training with me till

Miles: Is your practice of Law related to any childhood ambition? Richard: My father, Timothy, played a great role in my decision to become a Lawyer, but the ultimate decision was mine. I knew right from childhood that Lawyers were not just important in our
do you reconcile your achievement thus far with your childhood ambition?
Richard: I would say that I have realized my childhood dream. But I am not resting on my laurels yet. I am still young (relatively) and have a lot to achieve in the future. Miles: As an accomplished Lawyer, and one who has spent quite some part of his adult life abroad; what is your advice to Nigerian youths who are still desperate to travel and live abroad?
community, but were the shakers of the society. The National Assembly was riddled with them; they were the only people who could wrest detainees from the iron grips of the Nigeria Police, by way of bringing applications for court orders such as mandamus, certiorari and for enforcement of Fundamental Human Rights. Besides, they were very intelligent, bright and respected. Their uniform consisting of the bib, wig and gown is an epitome of beauty and nobility. I told myself I had to make it into the club of those noblemen. I mentioned my father. Yes, he was passionate about his children or any of us becoming a Lawyer. As a policeman, he was mesmerized about how Lawyers framed arguments in Court and the fact that only Lawyers can be Judges. He promised himself that at least one of his children would become a Lawyer and he kept his promise. I told him I would never let him down. I did not. I became a Lawyer. A very good one. May his Soul rest in peace.
Miles: How did your Law Practice take off in Canada? Richard: It was not an easy task. But I have always believed that no task is insurmountable if you put your mind to it. After practicing law for years in Nigeria, a practice that took me to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria, I practically had to go back to Law School here. I wrote the requisite exams and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004. I have since practiced law in different capacities, notably as an Associate, partner and now as the owner of my Law firm
Miles: What are your main areas of practice?
Richard: I practice mainly in the areas of Immigration and Refugee Law, criminal law and civil litigation. I have appeared extensively at the Federal Court and a lot of my cases are reported at the Federal Court’s website. I have argued important cases at the Federal Court and Superior Court of Ontario. I have represented numerous clients at the Ontario Court of Justice in criminal cases; the Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) and other Tribunals in Canada. Miles: What fulfillment have you found in the practice of Law? Richard: Let me say that the practice of law has been quite fulfilling for me. When you have won cases in which the clients thought were hopeless and could not be won; when you have put tears of joy on clients’ faces, when you have won last minute deportation cases and the clients have thereafter become citizens of Canada; when you have put up brave legal fights in Court that have resulted in your clients being acquitted of crime they resolutely said they did not commit; when you have won monetary compensations plus apologies for clients that have been oppressed, hurt or unjustly vilified or treated, you have to be fulfilled. I come within the purview of all of the above. I am profoundly fulfilled. Miles: Looking back in retrospect, how 12
Richard: I want them to know that life is not a bed of roses in Canada. They must know they have to work hard to accomplish anything here. For those that are ready to put in the hard work, Canada has all the infrastructures in place to make you excel and become accomplished. For the lazy ones, they should not bother. They will only be frustrated, because nobody gives you anything free here. Miles: In your opinion, how has Law practice fared among Nigerians in Canada? Richard: I think Nigerian Lawyers in Canada are doing reasonably well. However, I should not forget to point out that too many Nigerian Lawyers here in Canada prefer to be sole proprietors and this has prevented us from taking this profession to another level. I am not the only Nigerian Lawyer who shares this sentiment. I was talking to another Nigerian Lawyer recently who was of the opinion that we failed to realize our full potentials because we are content to just rent one room and run a tiny law office from there. He believes this did not even make us to command respect with the Law Society of Upper Canada which focuses excessively on Nigerian Canadian sole proprietor Lawyers. I tell you what; there is strength in number. I envision a big Law Office where there are many of us as partners, like the Jewish and other minority ethnic groups in Canada. Miles: What is your projection on the practice of Law in the next decade within the African community? Richard: In answering this question, I’ll like to look back at the past ten years and
testify that I am a humble, down to earth and easy going person. In fact, I don’t get along with arrogant people. To me, I believe the words of Chinua Achebe, my beloved author, when he said in “Things Fall Apart” that “those whose palm kernels were cracked for them by benevolent spirits should not forget to be humble”. Whatever we achieve in life, we should never forget the role the Grace of God plays in it.
Miles: Many of your clients are also overwhelmed with the passion and kindness you bring into your profession. Please tell us what your source of inspiration is.
say that we have come a long way and we have done well regardless of my criticism above. When I came to law practice in Canada in 2004, there were quite a few Nigerian Lawyers around. Now, our number has grown and most of us are doing well. I see us getting better in the next ten years. However, many of us will eventually realize that coming together and having something big is what is going to get us to the heights that we deserve.
Miles: Beyond the practice of Law, what is your next life challenge? Richard: I want to volunteer and I want to teach law. I was a Law teacher before. I thought Nigerian police officers law of evidence and criminal law as far back as my youth service days in 1989 to 1990 in the then Bendel State, now Edo State of Nigeria. I love to teach, because I can break things down and make people understand them; same way I put forward my arguments in courts and Tribunal. I am a passionate person and I bring this to whatever I do.
Miles: Many consider you a reserved person; is that a true reflection of your personality? Richard: There is a culture of conservatism in the practice of law in Nigeria where I started my practice. You cannot advertise to attract clients. In Canada, it’s a bit different. Perhaps, that upbringing might have shaped my behavior. But those who have interacted with me will
Richard: I am inspired by the fact that I am an immigrant who has done well, albeit with the Grace of God and by working day and night. I am also inspired by the fact that the most important thing in life is to be remembered for the good work that we have done, not by our riches. When we leave this world, it is important that our good names remain; for our riches will pass on to someone else. Furthermore, because I am an immigrant, I know the pain immigrants are going through. I have gone through that pain before and I will always do my best to ease people’s pain for other immigrant that I have the privilege to serve or offer my service to. Miles: Can you let us into your immediate family life? Richard: I am married to a very beautiful woman named FolaSade. I still remember the day I met her at Ikeja in Lagos, Nigeria. She was looking so beautiful and I could not concentrate on anything else except her. It was not easy to get her attention, but I persevered, because I never give up on anything that I want. We have gone through a lot together in the past over twenty years we have been together. We have two children, Dami and Tomi. ‘My wife, Sade, is the love of my life and rock of the family. As a Social Worker, she is passionate about helping the vulnerable people in our community. I love her very much. Apart from my wife, my children are the best things that have happened to me. Dami just completed his first year at the University and wants to be a Lawyer. Tomi is about to commence High School at one of the prestigious Regional Art Programs Schools in Ontario. At 13, she 13
already has many trophies from various competitions to fill a table. ‘I am passionate about my family. They inspire me every day and their advice invaluable. Without them, I don’t think I would have achieved this much.’
Miles: What do you enjoy most for relaxation? Richard: I am a very simple person when it comes to relaxation. I love movies and sports. I love tennis and basketball. I watched most of the NBA playoff. When I didn’t have time to watch due to the pressure of work, I checked the scores on the web. I am a fan of the Toronto Raptors. However, Lebron James is my favourite player. He is indeed the best player in the world. I also like the “golden boy”, Stephen Curry. Lebron plays the game the way I love to argue my cases in Court. You know what I am talking about. I am also a big fan of Serena William, the world’s best female tennis player and on the men’s side, my favourite player is Roger Federer, a gentleman and perhaps the best ever in men’s tennis. SURVIVING OR THRIVING &DDMFTJBTUFT
Do you tend to only survive? you get through Monday to Friday praying for the weekend. Then the weekend comes and by Sunday night you feel like you are back in the vicious cycle once again. So, if you ask me, “I would have to say that you are just surviving, when you should be working on a life of thriving.
l5P FWFSZUIJOH UIFSF JT B TFBTPO BOE B UJNF UP FWFSZ QVSQPTF Here are few tips that you can follow; VOEFS UIF IFBWFOz
What causes us just to survive? The definition of surviving is to remain alive or in existence. So yes, you are alive but just existing. But what would your life look like if you would thrive instead. As per the definition of thriving, you would be successful or making steady progress and prospering. I believe all of us desire exactly that! The age-old question is how to achieve that life style?
1. Get rid of the victim mentality; stop blaming others for your work load. 2. Prioritize your work load and delegate all you can.
3. Be thankful you have the work as others are desperate for employment. 4. Enjoy serving others without looking for something in return. 5. Don’t focus on making money, focus on blessing others. 6. Look after yourself, so you can look after others. 7. Stop trying to control everything in your environment, people included. 8. You are not God and you need to stop thinking you are. 9. Be satisfied with what you can accomplish in a day. 10. Believe Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

LIVING LIFE WITHOUT BOUNDARIES Traditions offers no hope for the present and makes no preparation for the future, it is very important and essential that we broaden our horizon day by day or else the rigidity of life will catch up with us standing at a point.
life without boundaries. Put it this way, every boundary is meant to be crossed in life. Progress in every age results from the fact that there are some men and women who refuse to believe that what they know to be right cannot be done.
Like with exercising, sometimes you wake up and the fatigues of yesterday brings pain and strain to the whole body, you feel like just letting that day pass by after all there is tomorrow to try again but of course the moment you give credence to that thought marks the beginning of your failure in meeting with your set goal. Therefore, in spite of the body telling you not to even dare it again, you push on because you have to. Life is about getting what needs to be accomplished while ignoring the obstacles that may stand on your way everyday and every step of the way.
Know The Rules and Then Break Some
The men who build the future are those who know that greater things are yet to come and that they themselves will help bring them about, as such their minds are illuminated by the blazing sun of hope, they never doubt, they have no time for that – Melvin Evans Life is beyond just doing the normal everyday, if that was the case then God would not need you and I to be created so we can fulfil no purpose in life, every promotion has a purpose and every opportunity to be promoted has an obstacle standing on the way of its fulfilment. You must aim to rise above every supposedly gate on the doorsteps to your elevation and learn to live
earth to be rich, yes, certain conditions and environments might favor one race over the other, but it remains only but a barrier that can be broken by a combination of enthusiasm and willingness. You must be equipped to move beyond the mental barrier that always reads loudly that you cannot make it because impossibility is just an opinion. In the scripture above, the rule was suddenly enacted by the enemies of Daniel that no one can worship any other God than the King. Daniel was aware of this new rule but weighed it against his greatness and found a need within him to break it. What are the add-on rules that men have made just to stop you from progressing in your life? Find them and break them.
Daniel 6:10 “When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously….” Vv.16-17. Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!” And a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den,… Vv. 21-23. “Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.” Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. And the king commanded, and those men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions— they, their children, and their wives. And before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces.”
With You And God All Things Are Possible – We are the wire, God is the current and we ‘become’ only when we allow the current to pass through us by: 1) Being a mind through which Christ thinks. 2) A heart through which Christ loves. 3) A voice through which Christ speaks. 4) A hand with which Christ helps.
You must learn to recognize original laws that were set from time; and those addon rules that are meant to stop you from achieving greatness and then break them. For instance no one has the monopoly on
and one of the greatest pleasures you can find is doing what people say you cannot do God bless and hope to see you on the side of greatness and victory.
19
Be involved in something bigger than you, God has never had anyone qualified working for him yet, do what others say can’t be done because the best way to defend what you believe is by living it. The formula that turns you from failure to success is to:
‘Always act as if it is impossible to fail’

Consider This
HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE. NOT A FEELING PASTOR JOEL OSTEEN
KEY IS REALIZING THAT HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE!!! So…
1. WHEN you wake up in the morning, you can choose to be happy or choose to be unhappy. 2. You must stop worrying about the future by living one day at a time. 3. It is very good to make plans for the future, but very depressing to constantly worry about tomorrow 4. Remember that God gives us grace for each day and not for the morrow. Until tomorrow comes, there is no grace for it. ‘HAPPINESS IS A DECISION YOU MAKE, NOT AN EMOTION YOU FEEL’ 5. Learn to rule over your emotions – When bad things happen
to us no matter how much we rant and rave, its not going to change. 6. The bible say’s that we are like mist, life is flying by, so don’t waste another moment of your precious time being angry, unhappy and worried. – James 4:14 7. This is the day that God wants you to be happy - Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” 8. No person can really make you happy - you must find happiness in yourself no matter what. 9. BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED – don’t worry about things you cannot change, rather focus on the things that make you happy by realizing that your environment does not prevent you from being happy. 26
10. Appreciate Today – when you rejoice in the midst of your trials, you are giving your enemies a black eye – Philippians 4:4 11. One of the healthiest things you can do is to learn to smile more often. 12. The enemy knows that if you do not have joy then, you do not have the strength to defeat him – physically, emotionally and spiritually because the Joy of the Lord is your strength – Nehemiah 8:10 13. Smile for your health – a merry heart does good like a medicine. Proverbs 17:22
“A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.”

He grew up under the influence of the pastoral settings offered by Bakana especially within the confines of his parent’s compound, Iboroma compound (Polo). The scripture that says, “Train a child in the way he should go and when he grows, he will not depart from it” has truly manifested in the humble, philanthropic, peaceful, and humane characteristics often associated with the life of this man. Through his great and still achieving life, these traits of well guided upbringing especially in peace and humility is what has set him apart as a true influence imparting not just his immediate community but the country of Nigeria at large.
Defiling All Odds – Mr. Philmoore despite having to struggle financially to raise money for his education defiles all odds to not only complete his secondary education but went on to earn decrees in both graduate and post-graduate levels.
28
He started his education in Bakana and then moved on to St. Judes State School, Creek Rd, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State where he finished his primary education and obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. He later passed the common Entrance Examination and was admitted into the Enitonia High School, Borikiri Town in Port-Harcourt where he obtained his High School Diploma and subsequently gained admission into the University of Science and Technology in Nkpolu, Rivers State where he obtained a Bachelor Of Science and Technology degree and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting. And only recently Mr. Philmoore obtained a Doctorate degree in Philosophy (PH.D) in Accounting at the prestigious Federal University Of Port-Harcourt. He has also gone on to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant’s of Nigeria (ICAN), the most recognised and respected Accountant’s organisation in Africa. Hon. Philmoore is married to his wife, Mrs. Miebaka Philmoore (a native of Okrika), and together they have four wonderful children. Three boys and a girl, Tonye, Michelle, Peter and Miebaka.
Social Perspective – Honorable Phillimore’s impacting influence had grown beyond his ethnic nationality. He is intelligible in many local languages like Kalabari, Ikwerre and Igbo. He is also multi-lingua as he can fluently speak English and French languages respectively, this attribute no doubt makes him accessible as well as sociable. He believes in giving a listening ear to all people, no mat-
ter their origin, dialect or social status, and this has immensely contributed to the reason why he was adjudged the best Local Government Chairman his state has ever produced. He is a professional golfer and a member of Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria (PGAN), and has gone on to victoriously represent his country (Nigeria), in and outside the shores as both a player and coach. He also enjoys soccer and received an award by the National Referees Association. He enjoys Badminton, Table-Tennis (Ping-pong) and martial arts (TAEKWONDO) as well. So he is an allround sports person.
His Rise To Stardom – he was appointed as Petroleum and Gas matters Director of Degema Local Government Area in the then democratic dispensation. Before his appointment, he worked in various capacities including Marubeni Nigeria Ltd, Oil and Gas Companies, Spibat Nigera Ltd, Tenth-man Nigeria Ltd, and N.L.N.G Bonny, Rivers State of Nigeria. Going into politics, he supported the enthronement of several amiable politicians who have helped to shape the history and fortune of his state in the right direction. He then contested for councillorship position and was unopposed during the elections, but unfortunately, he could not assume office due to change of plan by the then administration. As God would have it, he later became the elected Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, thanks to the efforts of many distinguished personalities especially the then Governor
of Rivers-state, Dr. Peter Odili and Late Hon. Tonye Harry (Former Speaker of the Rivers-State House of Assembly).
Adjudged To Be The Best – Honorable Philmoore was adjudged to be the best council chairman of Degema Local Government Area by the majority of the people owing to numerous testimonials of tangible and intangible achievements in the Local Government Area during his tenure in office. He has since gone on to become a major political stake-holder ensuring the enthronement of all the governors after Governor Dr. Peter Odili including the current Governor of Rivers State who based on Hon. Philmoores’ record of hard work, integrity, humility and political doggedness appointed him as the Honourable Commissioner of the Revered Civil Service Commission of the State. Quotable Quote From Hon. Philmoore – when I asked what formed the foundation and inspiration for his great achievements in life, Honorable Philmoore replied,
“Record has it that I did not depart from my humble and peaceful dispositions instilled in me while growing up, hence I still conduct myself with high degree of humility, transparency and an orchestrated sense of humaneness. Despite the perceived contradictory appearance, I bear an indelible trademark, best nomenclature counsellor of peace which earned me Justice of Peace (JP) by the Ministry of Justice” 29

'*7& 5)*/(4 50 ,/08 "#065 -6,& Who is Luke? - Luke is only mentioned by name three times in Scripture, and all three references are in Paul’s letters: Colossians 4, 2 Timothy 4, and Philemon 1. Most biblical scholars support Luke as the author of the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts. We can come to this conclusion, because of the similarity of writing styles and vocabulary in both books; another reason is that Luke used the term “we” several times to refer to his missionary travels in the book of Acts. Though Luke was not present with Jesus during His ministry, and likely was not a believer until after Jesus’ resurrection. Luke’s gospel contains several parables and eyewitness accounts that are only in his gospel, such as a pre-birth account for John the Baptist, the story of the two men who met the resurrected Jesus on the road to Emmaus, as well as stories of miraculous healing. His gospel is the longest of the 4 gospels and includes the most healing stories, showing his interest in and compassion for the sick. His gospel also has the most detailed birth account and a more descriptive death and resurrection account for Jesus. The Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts total 52 chapters, making Luke the author of 1/3 of the New Testa-
ment, just like Paul. It is most likely that Luke wrote his gospel in 63AD before the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. Why did he write a gospel account? - In Luke 1, he writes: “In as much as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.”
Here are 5 things to know about Luke: 1. Luke was a Gentile - Lucas (or Loukas) is a Greek name; the author of Luke writes with a Greek style, and is highly educated with his chosen vocabulary, similar to other Greek writers in his day. He used Greek expressions rather than Hebrew versions, showing that he was more comfortable with the Greek language. We also know that Luke was a Gentile because of the way Paul addresses him in Colossians
30
4; Paul named his Jewish co-workers first and says, “These are the only Jews among my co-workers for the kingdom of God…” Then 2 verses later Paul addresses Luke by saying, “Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings.” Col. 4:11 & 14 Luke was the only Gentile to write a book of the Bible, and he clearly wrote his gospel with a Gentile audience in mind. He is sure to point out references to creation and Jesus’ circumcision that a Gentile audience would not have known. A Jewish audience would have assumed Jesus was circumcised on the 8th day, even if it wasn’t written, since he came from a Jewish family. Luke made sure to give a detailed account of everything he wrote, so that those who were not as familiar with Jewish traditions, customs, places, and Old Testament references would be able to understand the history of Jesus and plan of salvation.
2. Luke was a Physician - Though, we can’t be certain about every aspect of Luke’s background, we know he was referred to by Paul as “the beloved physician” in Colossians 4:14. He likely had a comfortable life in Antioch practicing
medicine, but he chose to sacrifice that life of comfort to follow the Lord.
audience, including a high Roman official named Theophilus.
3. Luke was Humble - Luke never
5. Only Luke Remained with Paul to His Death - In 2 Timothy 4, Paul tells
addresses himself as the author of either of his books, he never addresses himself by name as one of Paul’s travel companions though he does use the term “we,” he never mentions his profession as a doctor (only Paul does), and he never mentions his brother Titus (2 Cor. 8 & 12). He does not mention the sacrifice he made in giving up his medical practice to travel with Paul and care for Paul. Instead, he gives much focus to Jesus’ healing miracles and Jesus as the great Healer. The most important thing he wants his readers to understand is salvation in Christ.
4. Luke Met Some of the Apostles - By the time Luke was writing his gospel, the Holy Spirit had already inspired two others: Matthew and Mark. It is reasonable to think that Luke would have interviewed them and investigated their writings. Luke would have likely traveled with Mark, since Mark also traveled with Paul. And it is logical to think that since Mark and Luke knew each other, and Mark and Matthew knew each other that Matthew and Luke would have also met. Luke would have been exposed to many sources, and, therefore, would have based his writings on existing narratives with eyewitness accounts added in that he gathered with the help of the Holy Spirit. Luke was not trying to write a new gospel, he wanted to record the life of Jesus as accurately as possible for a wider Gentile
us that Luke alone remains with him. Why would most of Paul’s companions desert him? John MacArthur explains, “Nero had cranked up the persecution to a high level and Christians were paying with their lives. And frankly, many believers had fled from Rome. And, you know, they might have had a reasonable motive to do that, to carry on the preaching of the gospel. It’s not that they were all just cowards. But Luke didn’t go. Everybody left. And there was a lot of desertion. Demas left him, because he loved the present world, verse 10 says. And you do get the idea that some of the rest left in desertion from verse 16, but he says, “May it not be counted against them.” But not Luke, loyal, faithful, brave, long-term friend, fellow worker, companion to Paul, been with Paul over years and years and years, been with Paul over hundreds and probably thousands of miles of walking. “ John MacArthur also writes, “So I say, next to Paul, Luke is the most powerful writing force in the New Testament, and yet he is basically unknown. I don’t think in my life I’ve ever heard a sermon about Luke. His historical narrative spans over sixty years. It starts with the birth of John the Baptist, the forerunner to Jesus, and it ends at the end of the book of Acts, which is volume two of his writings,
it ends with the gospel being preached at Rome, which means the gospel has extended to the world. No other writer wrote so comprehensive a history of Jesus and His impact. No other writer goes all the way from the John the Baptist to the gospel, having reached the capital of the Roman Empire. He is the most complete story teller of the saga of salvation in the New Testament, and he is mostly unknown to us.” Luke knew he wasn’t the first to write about Jesus nor did he claim to be; he wanted to write a gospel that shared the truth that had already been written but for a wider audience. He investigated every written and oral source that he could, with the help and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Luke was an evangelist, a historian, a physician, a pastor, a missionary, a companion, a brother, and a theologian. His goal and purpose in writing a gospel was to write exact truth concerning Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation, an infallible history and theology inspired by the Spirit. And with God’s guidance that’s exactly what he did. No, we don’t know everything there is to know about Luke, but I think that’s the way he would want it. He didn’t write a gospel for fame or recognition, which is why he does not mention his own name in either of the books he wrote. Luke wanted to teach people about the Savior and the glorious salvation Jesus offers to all mankind.

AVOIDING CARELESS DEATHS Most recently I lost a dear friend of mine, who died rather carelessly, and this has led me to go on record with this article, I am sharing with you today. It pertains to the very fact that many Christians have given up on their medications and treatments all in the name of believing one pastor or the other that God will ultimately heal them and therefore did not need to listen to their doctors anymore.
The Story - My friend who I will refer to as Mr. P had a severe case of appendicitis and had to undergo an operation to remove it. The operation was done but unfortunately there was an infection in the process. The doctors requested that he come back for treatment but Mr. P being someone that believed so much in his pastor decided to first contact his pastor before going back to the hospital. His pastor on the other hand was one who believed that a Christian has nothing to do with medical science advised P. that he was under spiritual attack and should immediately abandon the medications and doctors’ instructions for the divine protection
and healing atmosphere of the church. He did exactly as directed by his pastor, and checked himself into the church. He died about two weeks later.
Divine Healing Is Not A Substitute For Medical Science I am a strong witness and believer in the power of God to divinely heal our diseases and sicknesses, but at the same time I also fully believe that God can and do heal through the doctors and medications. I have witnessed both advantages and have concluded that God is in the both ways. I do believe that there was a reason why a doctor was chosen as one of the disciples by Christ himself. In Colossians 4:14, apostle Paul refers to him as a brother and a physician. Colossians 4:14
“Luke the beloved physician…” Unfortunately, what we have today are a bunch of ministers telling or teaching people to abandon the medical science
34
and simply lean on the power of God to heal because God is in the miracle healing business. While that is true, it is not the full story at all. I believe that God created doctors, He made man and gave him the wisdom to uncover medications and herbs that bring about healing. Apostle Paul again told Timothy to take some wine for his stomach. Although many have interpreted this to mean that the Bible encourages drunkenness but we know better. Wine could have been some tonic and for lack of a better interpretation at that time it was called wine, but whatever might have been the case, it means that medication of some sort was accepted even in the days of the great miracle worker Paul and most importantly he accepted and endorsed it. Today we have pastors that I call ‘half baked’, who go about killing people especially in the third world countries by telling them to abandon all forms of medical science and depend on them for miracles of healing from God. My questions then is, during the days of our Lord Jesus Christ, did he end up healing everybody that came his way? No, of course.
And even in the cases where healing occurred, Christ still directed that they go concur and adhere to the traditions of the land. Christians should wake up from this latest misdirection and be wise. God can heal you even through your doctor and the medications they give you. What I would rather advise is that in the same measure that money is mentioned as answering all things in the Bible, and in another place the same Bible says; that it is impossible for those who trust in their riches to make heaven.
parent that they need to go under the knife to bring out the baby, some pastor comes in with prayers and suddenly a prophesy is released that God will perform His miracle and that the operation should not be carried out. I have even listened to a pastor call it laziness for a woman not to be able to push out her baby during labour. It is absurd and unforgivable for us to allow such barbaric tendencies in this time and age, think about it this way, God made it possible for that option to be available to you at that particular time and place.
We must not put our trust in the medications we receive, but should pray over them, place our healing trust in God, and follow the slogan of the medical institution which reads ‘We Care, God Heals’
We must wake up to the reality of life and never live on faith rather we must live by faith. What that means is that whatever place you find yourself, apply the true wisdom of God in that situation and allow God to bring fulfilment to your life.
So many have died especially women who go into labour and when it becomes ap-
‘I believe in the God of miracles and I know He is doing great and mighty things
35
in our lives and on earth generally, but do not fall a victim to people that twist the word of God to favor their selfish motives.’ Beyond the pulpit segment is where we look at matters arising that affect our lives, especially around interpretations and application of the word. If you have faith in God then also you must have faith in the things that God created for your pleasure and enjoyment. My doctor is one of the closest to me, I share what is going on in my body with him, and he directs me on what to do and I adhere strictly to his instructions. He knows I am a pastor, he is a Jew and a practicing Christian as well. We both know that only God can bring total healing but at the same time, we as His children must play our own part in the equation. God bless…
From The Pulpit
DIVINE ADVANCEMENT There is a common factor that guides the whole of mankind, or at least the better population of mankind and that is the desire to move up in life. Almost everyone wants to make the next level in their lives. No one wants to be seen as lacking behind; It is depressing most times to remain stagnant in life. The problem is that you cannot just wish it and it begins to happen for you, there must be a combination of effort, good will from nature and something spectacular for your life to truly witness a movement in the right direction. There is actually a saying that “Breaking down is easy, but try rebuilding and you will find out how difficult life is,” and so my concern as I write this article is how you can move up and forward in life. There is a provision for advancement through the power of God, and in the might of His wisdom, it begins with you and obviously ends in the activation of the power of God to move you forward in life. I have noticed that when you advance by physical efforts alone, you also move two steps backwards because physicality does not have the capacity to withstand the grace and power of true advancement.
God Operates Only In The Third Dimension 2 Corinthians 12:2 “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows.” The very first thing you must comprehend is the fact that God does not operate on the low level mentality of life, for you to divinely advance you need to connect with God, and to do that means that your mentality as well as your spiritual senses must be able to operate at a very divine level. You cannot be seeking God’s power and help to advance while doing the same old things you used to do. In the book of Obadiah 1:17, deliverance is only available to those who are on Mount Zion, so what does this really mean? Must we all head to Israel and go on top of the mountain to see deliverance and the power to possess our possessions? If so, what about the millions, that for one reason or the other will never make it to Israel?
What that scripture is simply saying, is that for anyone to be able to live a holy life, they must reach and operate at the higher level like Paul who though in physical chains could see beyond the physical into the spiritual to claim what higher level there was. To See And Experience God, You Must Reach-Up By 1. Dealing With Your Body – 1 Corinthians 9:27 “But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” To be able to obtain divine advancement from heaven, you must learn to discipline your body. You must strive and do your best to live above the level of sin that easily attacks the flesh. An average man will love to sleep with all the beautiful and attractive women in the world but a man that has value for his destiny knows that it will jeopardize the power of God in their life and so they avoid and abstain because the body or flesh is an unruly member that must be tamed at all cost. God cannot pour out His blessings on a flesh that cannot maintain the Holiness of the kingdom of God. He cannot show up unless you are able to discipline the body; thereby creating a conducive atmosphere for the spirit of God to inhibit. 2. Deal With Your Emotions – Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” To see God’s hand in your progress in a supernatural way, you must not allow the emotions of life to determine how you react to life. you cannot be one that is guided and controlled by emotions because in God’s kingdom, the things of this world are all temporal while the wisdom from above guides the thinking of life because they are permanent. You cannot react to affairs of this world as if they hold the keys to your success, joy and peace. God has already given you that power to live a happy, successful and joyous life. You must learn to let yesterday be gone while embracing your
36
tomorrow because you cannot do anything about yesterday than to move on positively today. I can tell you this, things are never as bad as they sound or look at the first instance, also remember that for the children of God, there are really no deadlines; because our times are in the hands of the Lord Almighty. If you can successfully handle your flesh and stay holy while keeping your emotions in check then God will surly show up for you, His spirit will lift your spirit man up – “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:11 Only God can truly promote and advance a person because while we struggle by our power to make such things happen, the devil and his cohorts like disease, bank failures, hard times, backstabbers, world of greed and financial get rich quick schemes will continue to frustrate your efforts. Sometimes you find that you are making so much on paper but seeing so little in the real sense but when God is comes on the scene, all these factors and agents of failure tend to run away from you permanently. Always remember that you cannot let the past poison your future: We must learn to stretch out to move up, like anything in life, there is a limit to their very existence but the tougher question is, will you outlast your troubles by dealing with your body and handling your emotions so that God can come in and lift you up to a higher level? Join Bishop Don Ifepe every Sunday @ 10:30am on an expository of the Word of God and you will experience divine turn around in your life for good. Word from our Father
Pastor Daniel Garza White Wings Int’l Healing Ministry Eagle Pass, Texas (USA)
Psalm 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. Amen Moses knew God’s ways; he learnt them on the mountain. The rest of the people could know God only by the miracles that He did in their lives. How many today only know the LORD by the miracles He has done in their lives? They may have experienced healed bodies, met needs, financial breakthroughs, or other answers to petitions. These people have not gone to the mountain to learn His ways because they desire what the world can give them. They do not fear the LORD! God is calling us to His mountain to know Him intimately. He is clearly telling us, Psalm 25:14 --14. The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His
covenant (promise)” Psalm 121:1-2 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains, from where cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” To fear God is to love Him above all else! It is willingness to obey God even when it appears more advantageous for you to compromise or not obey His Word. Those who love themselves cannot fear God. It is so true that if we do not fear God, we will be afraid of Him at the revelation of His Glory and draw back. We need to remember that the people drew away from His Glory but Moses drew near! My question is how many are like those people? Do we get God’s word from
37
others but withdraw from the mountain of God? Are we afraid to hear His voice that lays the condition of our heart? Are we concerned that if we draw too close, something may be revealed that we want to remain secret? And if it is kept secret, we don’t have to confront it, and we don’t want to confront what we still enjoy. Mark 4:22-23 22. “For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.” 23. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 --- “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

HOW DEBT AFFECTS YOUR RELATIONSHIP
Ajay Oberoi GTA Credit 416 650 5800 Was Shakespeare right when he said, “Neither a borrower nor a lender be?” It often depends on the nature of the relationship. Borrowing and lending makes the world go round when it comes to national economies, corporations, or small business, but it’s a very different story when it comes to your spouse. Debt can have a devastating effect on a relationship. It’s often cited as the No. 1 reason couples argue, and among the most common causes of divorce. An American university study last year reported that couples who argue about money early in their relationships are at greater risk of divorce, whatever their income, debt or net worth. The 2012 study, “Examining the Relationship between Financial Issues and Divorce,” also said that arguments about money were longer and more acrimonious than arguments about other topics. Another university in 2009 found that couples who disagreed about
finances once a week were more than 30% more likely to divorce than couples who reported disagreeing about finances less often. The best way not to join their ranks is to make good choices from the beginning. When you’re contemplating a major relationship commitment, talk to your partner about money. Talk about your attitudes, your culture, what you think money is and its role in society. Talk about your financial priorities. If one of you want to save for retirement and the other wants a speed boat, you’ll need all the open communication you can get. Disagreeing doesn’t mean your relationship is doomed, but it will take continued non-judgmental communication and regularly revisiting the issue to keep from developing resentments and creation Financial tensions down the road. Talk specifically about the debts you bring to
40
the relationship, and be absolutely honest. If you’re in a relationship with someone whose debts far outstrip yours, or who seems to constantly be accruing more, consider waiting before making a longterm commitment. Give him or her chance to straighten out their financial difficulties, or at least take the right steps towards doing so, before you walk down the aisle. If you’re already married and you or your spouse is in financial trouble, it doesn’t necessarily mean both partners are in the same boat. A debt that is yours alone (for which they did not co-sign) does not affect your spouse’s credit, and a bankruptcy affects only the insolvent spouse. Joint debts can be a different story, and can even your ex-spouse’s (or one from whom you are legally separated) behaviour can affect you financially. If you’ve got concerns about your financial future, or that of your prospective spouse, talk to a qualified Credit Counsellor at GTA Credit today.

Ephesians 5:15-16 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” NKJV When we read the Bible, we must endeavor to see all the angles covered and reason into their meanings and purpose for being there. Someone said that ‘if you can see the picture of the scriptures then you are on your way to glory’. I want to touch on the information about time and it’s time in this segment. The scriptures as written above tells us to make sure to walk the journey of life circumspectly not as fools but as wise while also redeeming our time well. There is an anomaly that I see in the world today amongst Christians, we tend to act, live, talk and work with emotions rather than with wisdom, but this scripture advises us otherwise. We must be wise in the way we live our lives, carefully evaluating every effort and time spent in any endeavour to make sure that it makes sense and it is also equivalent in production. I love the way the amplified version of the bible breaks it down for us: “Therefore, see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil.” AMP. The Amplified Bible kind of lays it out as
a responsibility that you must make happen, I will take it in that light and lay out some things that every believer should be concerned with. You cannot succeed in life if you neglect these guidelines to success and prosperity. It is not praying for God to send you prosperity from heaven that matters but to implement the instructions that your prayers reveal to you. As I lay out these instructions to you, you might as well take it as a guideline to prosperity. 1. Live With Honor (Code of Behaviour) – be a man of integrity and say what you mean and mean what you say. 2. Live With Purpose – meaning that everything you do daily and everywhere you go must have a definite fruitful purpose for your action. 3. Have Courage – the heart to live successfully and shun evil is not an ordinary one. In life, most times you will be confronted with very difficult choices, only courage will allow you the liberty and audacity to always chose the right thing irrespective of the repercussion of such choice. 4. You Must Stay Away From Evil People – this is perhaps the most important one here. It is important that you shun people that are evil. Listen, it is one thing to stay away from evil but a greater thing that requires greater effort and courage to shun people that are evil. But it is a necessary action if you wish to truly be successful in life. 5. Be Wise – we need to put this one on the bulletin boards of most churches, being a

Christian does not mean that you become a fool. There are different rules to various aspects of life and I really do get it a lot. People want you as a Christian to do your business without profit in your mind, get it please, when in business you must do it to make money and not to lose. Stop letting the world take advantage of you and drive you to penury. 6. Be Sensible, Intelligent and Discerning – you must know that it is not all that glitters that is gold, unfortunately even the so-called brethren in church, will come to play you but be intelligent and very sensible and ask God to gift you with the divine ability not to listen to what people are saying with their mouth but to hear the language and voice of their heart. 7. Learn To Wisely Redeem Your Time – life is valued by time, you work and your time at work is calculated and that is what you are paid for, funny enough no one really get paid for how much energy they had to spend to get a task done. It’s all about time, so please always consider if the reward is worth the time spent to get it done, in other words do not spend $500 worth of time doing a $100 worth of work. It is called wasting your time. 8. FINALLY, LEARN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES – life will always throw opportunities your way, but they often come disguised as hard work accompanied with fear of the unknown. Do not lose those chances because they are the bedrock to your prosperity and success.
On the Other-Side
BY ANNE MURRAY
Through each life time - run rivers to cross What if there’s no life line and you’re sinking or lost Just believe in your direction, let your heart explore ‘Cause you can’t reach new horizons standing on the shore. There are mountains - we need to climb But the mountains standing in the way are only in our minds And the risk of all so just listen to the voice that says I’ll catch you if you fall. On the other side of doubt is faith On the other side of pain lies strength The journey may seem endless and you know the road is rough But on the other side of fear is love. For such a long time I put my dreams aside The tides of change felt dangerous The mountains seemed too high But my dreams were slowly fading as time went quickly by So I held me breath with every step never knowing I would find. On the other side of doubt is faith On the other side of pain lies strength The journey may seem endless and you know the road is rough But on the other side of fear is love. On the other side of doubt is faith On the other side of pain lies strength The journey may seem endless and you know the road is rough But on the other side of fear is love...

DIVINE WISDOM FOR LIVING
Apostle Moses N. Grandeur General Overseer of Victory International Family Assembly Worldwide
1. If you don’t let God heal you of a wrong habit or attitude, it will eventually kill you – Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” 2. Your obedience and loyalty to authority determines your access to their asserts – Job 36:11 “If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.” 3. When you chose to be on the offensive, the atmosphere of your world will begin to change positively: don’t seat back and watch – 1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
4. Time is one commodity we all have in common. Any one who has no value for time has no value for life – Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:” 5. Obedience is the highest form of worship: disobedience is the highest form of sin – Isaiah 1:19-20 “If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the
land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
6. God desires to work in us before working through us – 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 7. The wise use of time is vital to success. Don’t spend $1000 worth of time for $100 worth of result. 8. You can do it only if you attempt to do it – Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” 9. A life built on false hope is the beginning of failure and loss in a man’s endeavours – Proverbs 25:19 “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is like a bad tooth and a foot out of joint.” 10. The height and firmness of a building is determined by its foundation – Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? 11. The battle field is the mind; he who wins the mind wins the man: God or Satan – Proverbs 23:26 “My son, give me

your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.” 12. When what is against you is above you, look to Him who is above all – Psalm 121:1 “I will lift up my eyes to the hills From whence comes my help?” 13. Indecision is as deadly as a man who makes a railway track his abode. So make the right choice – I Kings 18:21 “And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.” 14. When God is on your side, places don’t determine your prosperity – Genesis 39:3 “And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.” 15. If you can see the picture in the scripture, you can have the future – Joshua 6:12 “Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.”

THE SOCCER STAR WHO SOLICITS THE HELP OF JESUS DURING GAMES Olivier Giroud is the top striker for Arsenal football club in the English premier league as well as a France international player. But what a lot of people do not know is that he is also an active Christian who does not shy away from sharing his faith as and when needed. Very Religious, Olivier Giroud just mentioned his faith in the columns of L’Equipe Magazine . The attacker of the Blues has thus indicated to have even tattooed on his arm a biblical inscription.
“I have my little computer, I watch my series and then from time to time, I spend a little time with … Jesus.” “In a video published on 23 June by the French Football Federation, Olivier Giroud, the French team striker, recounted his daily life during the Euro and evoked his Christian faith. Thus he revealed with simplicity that during the tournament his bedside book was called A Moment with Jesus , written by Sarah Young, an American author who was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a reading which put’s
him “in a good mood ” . A faith on which he again expressed himself, on Saturday, March 25, in the columns of L’Equipe Magazine “I sometimes pray in full game. Sometimes everything does not go as you like, you solicit the help of Jesus. It feels good to reconcile me, focus on the essentials. To speak to him allows me to make a vacuum. It only lasts a few seconds, but it helps me to vent my frustration” , explained the Arsenal striker. The 30-year-old footballer, who is also the father of a little Jade (3 years old) and a little Evan (1 year), who has been the fruit of his love with Jennifer, his wife since 2011, having even chosen to tattoo on his arm. First verse of Psalm 23 in Latin: ” Dominus Regit Me and Nihil Mihi Deerit ” (” The Lord is my shepherd, Nothing can fail me “). ” I grew up with Christian values and I always felt safe by conforming to them. These words engraved on my arm reassure me, I know that if I need anything, a help, I can pray, ” said one who also sports a cross in the arm to the left

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK My junior brother and servant of the most high God, from the very first day we connected I have always appreciated the zeal and anointing of God on your life. You and your queen are truly a gift to the kingdom of God on earth. Keep doing the great and amazing work both in the Miles magazine and in the ministry. You may not know it, but you have truly positively affected so many lives around the world and we at VIFA stand hand in hand with you. God bless – Apostle Moses Grandeur, Nigeria
TRULY A MAN OF GOD I have known bishop Don for so many years now and every time I am opportune to be under his ministration I have been truly blessed by his anointing and divine wisdom in the word of God. I want to say, that indeed bishop you are doing the work of the master and his hand of grace abides upon you and this is very evident in the anointing upon your life. Your labour of love in His vineyard will surely be rewarded. Sister Deloris, Toronto Canada
A VALUABLE ASSET IN GOD’S HAND We met by divine orchestration and since then Bishop Don, we have become more than just friends. You have been there supporting me and the DOMA organisation over the years through the Miles magazine and your personal sacrifice as a member of our adversary board. I want to express my appreciation to you but more especially to God who placed such anointing and gifting in your life. Please continue the good work you are doing, never look back and never be weary because in due season God will bring rewards your way. Your Friend and Brother – Wesley Fuller (Founder DOMA), Canada.

Never Undersell Yourself, Place Your Value Above Life As we conclude this issue of the Miles, I will like to remind you that no one can value you above what your evaluation is of yourself. You must be conscious of your identity because the world will never give you a place of honor unless you demand it. Do not let whatever you are presently going through make you to forget that you are a precious jewel in the hands of God and that life will never be complete until you fulfill your part. The world needs you, and not the other way around. Often, we sell out cheap; hopping and wishing that someone can help us make it to the top. That is so far from the truth, rather the world needs your gift to be complete, in Romans 8:18 “For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed.” AMP. You see, the words ‘all creation’ there, includes both humans and elements of nature and even the animals of the field are all waiting for you to be revealed. They are waiting for the manifestation, the explosion, the glorious announcing of a rare gem like you and I know it because I have been there before, where you are thinking some hopeless individual can give you hope; I hate to burst your bubble, all that you need is already in you, become aware and find confidence in your abilities to make it. You Are A Celebrity – 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” NKJV. – God was done with your status even before you were born. You are royalty, that is why though I respect the fact that there are earthly installed kings and queens, I do not envy them nor waste my time being their sycophants because I am of a higher status than many can be. I am the best version of me and any other is a counterfeit, you are the best version of you and any other that tries to be like you, can only be like and never you. You must rise to the throne that God has set before you from the foundations of the earth, be that person that knows and respects their divine status because power belongs to the children of God. Assume Your Place – no one will hand over victory, honor or royalty to you. In truth, all the elements of this life, bills, people including close family members, institutions and authorities will conspire to stop you but you must know who you are and live like one by thinking in the divine way. Do not let anyone take you for a ride, read my article on redeeming time and you will see that even the Bible makes it equivocally clear that you ought to be wise and take your opportunities as they come your way. Do you know that all you need to make it in life are already deposited in you and around you by God even before you were born? That’s right, they are already there, simply begin to think right then you will begin to talk right and then you will act right.

Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his
heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you,” – NKJV It starts and end with this, as you think so you are. It does not matter what your mouth says, if your heart is not in agreement by action with your words then you are simply deceiving yourself. You must think supreme, royalty and divine authority. You must realize that it is impossible for you to fail, yes, you may encounter some bumps along the way but always remember that just because a plane encounters turbulence in the air does not bring it down. It will be quite scary sometimes but make sure to keep your eyes on your throne and always let people know that you know who you are and of whom you are. Key Is This - Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” – You must learn not to be too careful about life; but value yourself above life itself, because you have been assured of a greater and much better life above the one that we have on this earth. The world cannot take away your glory, even if they try, looking at Apostle Paul, who lives on so many years after physical death. Your God will never allow them to take you away before your time, so be strong and courageous knowing that you are larger than life itself.
Whatever you do, never sell yourself below your divine value...
