Editorially Speaking
THIS IS YOUR SEASON Your Time To Shine!!! Two years ago marked the 10th anniversary of the Miles magazine and with it also came a very challenging time for this publication. It seemed like things have fallen apart and the center cannot hold nor will it ever hold, but not to worry, the Lord is always in control. The word say’s ‘that He makes a way where there is no way’, and truly it is true. Ever noticed that when it seems your life is hitting a stage of utmost celebration then tragedy seems to strike and you start to wonder and ask yourself, what do I do now and which way to go? Who do I run to and who will come to my aid? But the righteous is not so, we know who to run to and we know who has already come to our aid long before now. I know that all things work together for good, for those who ‘Love’ the Lord and who are called according to His divine purpose. From the onset, Miles has never been about me or anyone in particular, it has never been about promoting the Believer’s Vineyard church. No, it has always been about giving a voice and a platform to the children God and the work of God from all works of life, so I know that come thin or thick it would emerge victorious and be a testimonial to the truth that God is always in control of our destiny forever.
In line with this knowledge I retreated to find the way forward, I sought the Lord’s direction in pain and isolation, it seemed I did not know how or where to move on, it seemed my mandate was at stake, the world looked for Miles for months and could not find it and judgment was passed that nothing will be possible anymore, many called but 90% of their calls where born out of hypocrisy rather than from genuine care and concern. I knew all these but we had to wait, wait for the Lord to give us a way forward into the next decade of this great publication, yes, the bible declares that, ‘there is a way that seems right onto men but the end thereof is destruction’. So rather than allow emotions get the better of us, we continued to watch and pray until we were released to come out again in full force. Then Came The Word of The Lord For Us…. From the book of Psalms 102:13
“You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the set time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.” Our year and season to shine, how can that be, I asked? like Mary when the word came that you are highly favored and will conceive and have a child, and she replied “how can this be seeing I have not known a man?” – Luke 1:34 I also asked how that can be considering the situation of things right now. But as you already know, with God all things are possible. This word is also for you, dear reader; the Lord wants you to know that though the year has begun in shambles and a cloud of hopelessness, He still has plans
7
of good and not of evil for you, to give you an expected end, filled with blessings and overflow. Notice that He says first, “I will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies”, do not worry about where you are presently, just concentrate on where God has promised to take you to. Your place of Overflow Progress Report… As you can see Miles is out and better than ever! We spread our tentacles far and wide and in the next issue, we will be announcing the openings that God has made for us in different parts of the world. We have been unbelievably favored with international expansion, God is so good that while you think there is no hope, He is laughing and working out a far better reaching destiny for you than you ever imagined. Our Gratitude… We are first of all grateful to God Almighty for His grace and favour upon us, We also want to thank all our sponsors and advertisers for being there for us and believing in us. Those of you that gave your hard earned money towards seeing us go to press again, we thank you so much. We could have mentioned names but I know how much many of you like to keep your donations private. Thank you so much, I and the rest of the team appreciate you so much, God bless. Remain Blessed And keep Going the Extra-Mile by reading, subscribing and advertising in the Miles. Canada’s No 1 Christian Magazine, Your guide to Inspired Living
Prayer Column
STAND ON YOUR KNEELS Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God” Sometimes in our life, we are truly down, the bills are overdue, the house mortgage or rent cannot be paid and everything is in a state of hopelessness and the reasonable thing to do is to naturally panic and run around in confusion looking for solution from friends and other sources depending on individual circumstance and situation. It is not easy to face the challenges of life when they come, in fact it is better not to ever meet these situations than to even imagine its effects and ramifications on the human being involved, the only thing I can compare with this ordeal in the bible was when the three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were about to be thrown into the fire, surely they had faith in God but they left room as well that if their faith could not cause heaven to deliver them, then they would gladly perish.
‘The Strongest Action You Can Take In Any Situation Is To Go On Your Kneels And Ask God For Help’ I bring you God’s formula for overcoming when you find yourself totally down and no physical help in sight:
‘Prayer Unlocks God’s Treasure Chest of Great Ideas, And Answers’ Yes, I know some of us will really be disappointed with my answer or formula but that is because you have not totally put your trust in God because if you have, then you will truly know that there is no way any other way can be a way than to follow Christ and unlock His abundant treasures of answers and idea’s.
8
Let us now look at the 4-Levels of Prayer Colossians 4:2 “Continue earnestly in prayers being vigilant in it with thanksgiving” Conversation - “Good Morning Father”: this is how you begin your day no matter how good or bad things are looking for you. Hear this very well, the most times, the devil attacks just before the breaking of dawn because he knows that we are most vulnerable at that time, and because he wants you to have a negative picture about the day ahead. Wake up
as normal without panic and greet God in conversation form knowing that He knows already what you are going through and believing that He has a formula for your deliverance.
‘What-Ever Is Worth Worrying About Is Worth Praying About’ Praise And Thanksgiving – “Thanks Lord”: The best way to remain a covenant child of God is by recalling the formal things that God has done for you and your family, for example He woke you up this morning but for that, your lifeless body will have no problems because you will be on your way to the mortuary and then to the grave where there is no returning. Above all, remember that God inhibits the praises of His people, to get God’s attention, you must offer Him the sacrifice of praise. It is a sacrifice because it takes a lot to do so in the midst of contrary forces.
Intercession – “God Help”: Now you are ready to enter into His throne of mercy because through praise and worship you have drawn down the host of heaven and the heaven’s gate are now open for you to launch your appeal for help. Do not try to be a super-hero and talk tough, giving God ultimatums and threats, this is where you are free to cry and lay your cry for help. He is our ever-present help in times of need. He promised that He will not leave us comfortless, but that He will send us a comforter in the form of the Holy Spirit, approach Him and ask for the helper and you will receive one. Petition – “Father I Need”: In our natural mind, when we go to pray, this should be number one because our needs always come above other things in life, but, the best is often saved for the last. Our needs maybe the first thing in our priority but the bible asks, “What will it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?” and another scripture says “Seek ye first
9
the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing shall be added onto you” – it simply means that we must find the ways of heaven, unlock the throne of heaven before we can enter and subsequently begin to enjoy the goodies of the Lord.
‘Effective Prayers Is To Be Simultaneously Willing To Take The Action That God Directs In Answer To Our Prayers’ As I do this particular article I am in this same process, seeking the face of God for victory over matters that I cannot even begin to write about, but I know that my life is always a testimony, the Miles is a vision from God and it will face and conquer the test of time.
Join me in the next issue as I look deeper into the art of prayer… l

Shades of Deception in Disguise Do not accept deceptive “fair speeches” which do not agree with God’s Word: Romans 16:18 “For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and falttering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.” II Corinthians 4:2 “But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in the craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”

Good News! The Wait And Frustration Is Over!!! 15
You know that prayer is an exercise, it takes discipline, courage, belief, motivation, time, planning and inspiration to perform, just like the athlete in the circular world that is looking to compete in say the Olympics, they need all the afore-mentioned virtues to be good at what they do or even to have any chance of winning. That in itself does not even guarantee them a place in the medal table but it gives them a chance. In prayers, once you diligently pursue your goal through prayers (please refer to the prayer column), you are bound to receive that which you seek. So may I say that while it is an exercise (Spiritual), it carries far more reaching reward than the physical one because it has to do with God. Many years ago I made a conscious effort and determined that I must engage my body in physical exercise every day of my life irrespective of where I am geographically, yes, I said every day, but you know and can imagine that sometimes I am just not able to do it due to one thing or the other, but the fact remains that because I have put it into my sub-conscious, my whole being is not the same when I miss it, also the benefits are there for me and so I am motivated by the fear of losing those benefits. I want to look at the benefits of prayerexercise, you can also call it the gains of doing the business of prayer, because any venture or exercise you engage in, with a purpose of making some form of progress is a profit oriented venture and that makes it a business of some sort, but I guess that is a topic for discussion another day,
Let us look at the benefits of prayer: Prayer Defeats The Devil: Matthew 18:18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” – then with this knowledge you are empowered to put every demonic force to defeat by your word of faith.
Prayer Saves The Unbeliever: Acts 2:21 “And it shall come to pass.
12
Benefits of Prayers That whoever calls on the name of the LORD. Shall be saved.” – the unbeliever does not need permission from the devil to be set free, once they call upon the help of heaven through Jesus Christ, they automatically become saved.
Prayer Edifies (Builds-Up) The Believer: Jude 20 “But you beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” – this is the key to your survival as a believer, notice that sometimes it is almost impossible for you to get yourself to pray, that is because the devil knows that our strength as Christians lie in our prayers.
Prayer Sends Laborers/Helpers Into The Harvest: Matthew 9:38 “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into
16
His harvest.” – To breakthrough in ministry/life you need the God of favor to release your helpers.
Prayer Heals The Sick: James 5:13-15 “Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” When there is sickness apply the Balm of Gilead through prayer and faith.
Prayer Overcomes The Impossible: Matthew 21:22 “22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” – May I dear
SPIRITUAL NUGGETS
“....this is the key to your survival as a believer..”
and with that, you shall attain breakthrough for yourself (Joshua 1:8). Meditation is a kind of prayer.
Prayer Brings Peace: Phillip 4:5-7 “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – As you pray, you meet with the visitation of the Holy Spirit and suddenly that peace that passes all understanding is released upon you.
Prayer Guards Against Temptation:
say that if this is true then you are unstoppable, and of course it is true, because it came from the mouth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Prayer Changes The Natural/Obvious: James 5:17-18 “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.” – The key to prayer is the conviction that God can and will do it for you because He does not say no to a man with enough conviction, do not plus the circumstances surrounding your request, just believe and pray adding God to the equation.
Prayer Brings The Right Things To Pass:
Matthew 7:7-11 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
Prayer Promotes Wisdom: James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” – When in need of breakthrough of any kind, be it demonic oppression, financial lack or physical attacks from your enemies. You simply need God’s wisdom and understanding,
17
Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” - You see most times, Christians find themselves indulging in sin and temptation that they never wished to do, ever wonder why? It’s simply a weakness of the flesh, it is not by power nor by might but by my spirit says the Lord, God of Host. Prayer gives you that extra power and spiritual alertness that overcomes your flesh.
Prayer Reveals God’s Answers: Luke 11:9-10 “9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” – Perhaps through emphasis you get the true importance of these verses, the bible encourages us that unless we pray nothing will ever happen and our circumstances will never change. Take your destiny in your own hands today and start a prayer regiment, follow it religiously at first, but I guarantee you that sooner than you think, the Holy Spirit will take over and you will blossom in power and spirit. l God bless.

Factors that Enhance Church Growth 1. UNITY
Unity brings internal growth in the Church. “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many are one body: so also is Christ.” (I Corinthians 6:17) “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” - (I Corinthians 12:12-13)
2. INTERCESSION The intercession of the Holy Spirit builds up the believer spiritually. Prayer is a spiritual exercise, learn to depend on the Spirit of God. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Romans 8:26) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. (Jude 20)
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. (Ephesians 6:18)
3. GUIDANCE The Holy Spirit guides believers into the truth of God’s Word which brings spiritual growth: Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak; and He will show you things to come. (John 16:13) For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14)
4. REVELATION The Holy Spirit reveals the truths of God’s Word to a believer which results in spiritual growth. We must always rely on the Holy Spirit for revelations But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (I Corinthians 2:10)
18
5. LOVE People grow spiritually in an atmosphere of love. This is key, a church or gathering where there is no love, will never witness any form of healthy growth. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Romans 5:5)
6. CONFORMING
focuses its attention on Christian education.
The Holy Spirit is at work internally to conform believers to the image of Jesus. When Christians gather, be it in a church setting or fellowship, one thing that must take precedence is the gradual but steady effort to daily conform to the image of God. You cannot be a child of God and remain in the mentality of the world.
“But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.” (I John 2:27)
“But we all, with open face beholding as in
8. ASSURANCE
a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (II Corinthians 3:18)
7. TEACHING We grow spiritually as we grow in the knowledge of God. The Holy Spirit is our resident teacher. You must become a student, the moment you accept Christ. The local church can only truly grow when it
Doubt hinders spiritual growth. The Holy Spirit eliminates doubt by giving assurance of salvation. You must know and believe in the divine identity of Christ. Once you have accepted Christ then you are assured of His protection and love. The Spirit itself beareth witness, with our spirit, that we are the children of God. (Romans 8:16) And he that keepeth His commandments
19
dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us. (I John 3:24)
9. LIBERTY Restrictions limit growth. The Holy Spirit gives liberty from sin and traditions of man. In your Christian journey, it is very important to make sure that you are not in bondage especially through doctrines but
rather you must feel liberty in the spirit for that is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2) “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (II Corinthians 3:17)

Perspective of Faith
THOUGH IT
TARRIES! Wow, I always hear people of great visions and accomplishments talk about the journey of crossing the Jordan to the Promised Land but I never believed that I will ever have to experience it. Miles magazine has run somewhat smoothly for a decade until the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, which incidentally marked the ten years of this vision. The plan and expectation was to move on to greater things and as usual the devil also has his own plans for us. We went through a torrid time of temptation and trials but through it all we are out again never to stop ever. By now I am very sure that many must have prophesied doom while others must have been wondering what’s going on but worry no more, Miles is a
vision and like every divine vision must see the light of day. I write this testimonial column to encourage everyone out there whose dream and vision is going through the cross-over stage, never to give up or even think that God is not in control, because like Apostle Paul in the book of Philippians 1:6, ‘I am confident that He is able to finish the good work which He begun in you until the day of Jesus Chris’ And Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Then the Lord answered me and said “Write the vision. And make it plain on the tablets that he
20
may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry” You may be asking today, is it fair that the wicked prosper while the righteous are constantly oppressed and made to go through a season of torture and humiliation? You further wonder and possibly begin to contemplate giving up the straight and narrow pathway to embrace the fast and short lane. My word for you is that speed definitely leads to accident, while short cuts will only cut your life short. You must learn to embrace Christ and abandon your destiny in his hands. Once the vision is of the Lord, then the chances of it failing
is absolutely zero, the truth is that visions attract serious spiritual attacks and most often like humans we open doors through ignorance that eventually end us up in trouble. But God is faithful who has promised to deliver, redeem and restore us to our original state of glory. ‘The key is to make sure that you do have a vision, a vision is simply an insight into the plan of God for your life.’ Some may ask if it is everyone that has a divine vision from God and my answer based on Jeremiah chapter 1 is yes. We all were created with a purpose, we must therefore all live a purpose driven life in order to contact God’s divine glory in our lives. Jesus Christ declared His purpose in the book of Luke chapter 4, Moses had the purpose of delivering Israel from oppression which he had to declare before Pharaoh and the people of Israel, Solomon’s purpose was to create wealth and splendor and by so doing prove to the world that Christians are empowered and
destined to be rich. I can go on and on but I guess you can imagine the rest for yourself, or is it Apostle Paul who came to prove that men can achieve immortality in the name of Jesus Christ, no wonder after death he lives in the pages of the bible. You must have a vision, something you are willing to be spent in order to achieve, for anyone who does not have something he/she is willing to die for, is not worth living in the first place. It may not mature at your planned time, but remember that our times are in the hands of the Lord (Psalm 31:15). I may then say to you, that vision is simply the physical manifestation of a divine plan orchestrated in heaven to be fulfilled on earth. Since God is the author and finisher of our faith, it then means that the fulfilment of visions does simply and ultimately lie in His hands and if that is true then it must surly come to pass as assured by him just as it is written in our main text for this article. Habakkuk 3:17-19 “Though the fig tree may not blossom. Nor fruit be on the vines: Though the labor of the olive may
fail. And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the LORD. I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet. And He will make me walk on high hills. This is my closing, in all circumstances you must never lose your joy, but rather your joy must consciously increase, knowing that the darker the night the nearer you are to the dawn of your morning. I write this as a testimony to the fact that God saw us through a very trying period, we went through the first, second days of death but like Christ, we arose on the third day, a victor from the dark domains of life. When everyone was preparing the funeral procession, our resurrection trumpet sounded and we emerged with wings as an Eagle (Isaiah 40:31). Yours will come at your appointed time, just learn to tarry and rejoice for your light has come. God bless.

THE GRAND-FATHER OF THE WORD OF FAITH MOVEMENT
’
Kenneth Erwin Hagin (August 20, 1917 – September 19, 2003) was an influential American Pentecostal preacher. He is often referred to as the “father” (or “granddaddy”) of the “Word of Faith” movement. Many of his followers often refer to him affectionately as “Dad Hagin,” “Papa Hagin,” and more commonly “Brother Hagin.” Personal life Kenneth E. Hagin was born in McKinney, Texas, the son of Lillie Viola Drake Hagin and Jess Hagin. He was married to Oretha Rooker. They had two children, a son named Kenneth Wayne Hagin, who is presently the pastor of Rhema Bible Church and President of Kenneth Hagin Ministries, and a daughter named Patricia Harrison. His most quoted Bible scripture was Mark 11:22-24: “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” His Testimony According to Hagin’s testimony, he was sickly as a child, suffering from a deformed heart and what was believed to be an incurable blood disease. He related that he was not expected to live and became bedfast at age 15. In April 1933 during a dramatic conversion experience, he reported dying three times in 10 minutes, each time seeing the horrors of hell and then returning to life. He shares he was raised from his deathbed on August 8,
1934 by “the revelation of faith in God’s Word”. Two years later he preached his first sermon as the pastor of a small community church in Roland, Texas, 9 miles (14 km) from McKinney. During the next twelve years he pastored five Assemblies of God churches in Texas: in the cities of Tom Bean, Farmersville (twice), Talco, Greggton, Texas, and Van. Establishing a faith-based organization Pastor Hagin began an itinerant ministry as a Bible teacher and evangelist in 1949. Hagin was at this time also given full admission to the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (also known as the FGBMFI) which had been established in 1951. He was also a part of the Voice of Healing Revival in the U.S. in the 40s and 50s together with Oral Roberts, Gordon Lindsay and T. L. Osborn. In 1963, Kenneth E. Hagin Evangelistic Association was incorporated, and the offices of the ministry moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1966. That same year, he taught for the first time on radio — on KSKY in Dallas. In 1967, he began a regular radio broadcast that continues today as Faith Seminar of the Air. Teaching by his son, Rev. Kenneth Wayne Hagin is also heard on the program. Since its inception in 1963, his organization grew to include numerous media outreaches and ministries. These are: • Faith Library Publications – with 65 million book copies in circulation • “RHEMA Praise” – a weekly television program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network • “Faith Seminar of the Air” – a radio program heard on many stations nationwide and on the Internet • “The Word of Faith” – a free monthly magazine with roughly 600,000 subscribers
• Crusades conducted throughout the nation • RHEMA Correspondence Bible School • The RHEMA Prayer and Healing Center, located on the Rhema campus in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma In 1974, Hagin founded RHEMA Bible Training College USA, which now has training centers in fourteen different countries and has 30,000 alumni. In 1979, he founded the Prayer and Healing Center there to provide a place for the sick to come to “have the opportunity to build their faith.” Its Healing School continues to be held free of charge twice daily on the RHEMA campus. RHEMA Bible Training College Hagin founded Rhema Bible Training Center (RBTC) in 1974. RBTC is an educational accreditation Bible institute located on 110 acres (0.45 km2) in Broken Arrow, a suburb of Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA). The curriculum is taught from a Charismatic/Pentecostal heritage. There are seven ministry concentrations specializing in Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Evangelism, Pastoral Care, Missions, Biblical Studies, and Supportive Ministry. RBTC has also established training centers in Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, the South Pacific, Thailand, Nigeria, Zambia, and Egypt. After Hagin’s death in 2003, his son Kenneth W. Hagin continued to run the institution. RBTC has trained over 40,000 graduates who reside and minister in more than 100 countries. The editor in chief of Miles magazine is a graduate of the Rhema Bible School and regards Pastor Hagin as his mentor and spiritual father. Biography courtesy of Wikipedia

PURPOSE DEMAND SERIES
Purpose Demands Discipline Discipline has been defined as: mental self-training; a drilling for self-improvement, a system of drilling one’s self to obtain a level of self-control, development and toughness. The word “discipline” is almost going out of our vocabulary today because we live in a computer age where almost everything is instantly achieved. But for everyone who knows his Purpose on earth, Purpose will always demand a level of discipline. In bible days, training was a major fact of life, society and institutions. Men were not given responsibility without training, jobs were not given to untrained hands. No wonder most of their projects succeeded. Our world today is not the same, the story is totally different, and people assume
offices, titles and positions they were never trained for. People are saddled with the management of others while they, themselves cannot manage themselves, some believe that education is everything, but I disagree with them because education is information, while discipline is acquisition of skill. When in the land of Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar wanted some special assignments to be carried out by some individuals in his kingdom, he emphasized the issue of training: Daniel 1:3-5 “3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children
24
Apostle Moses N. Grandeur Presiding Bishop of Victory Family Int. Worldwide
of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes; 4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.” – KJV Notice that the King devoted three whole years to the training of men who are to stand and attend to his palace business. You remember what happened in 1 Kings 10:4-5: “And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built, 5. And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the Lord; there was no more spirit in her.” One point of interest is the manner, conduct and attitude of Solomon’s servants and ministers and their mode of dressing. These are no coincidences, rather, they are the product of rigorous drilling for a period of time. Like they say, practice makes perfect. No true king will ever commit assignments to undisciplined individuals
no matter their level of education and physical looks. Unfortunately, the church has little or no regard for training before performance. We use the untrained, unprepared, uninstructed, and in fact, uninformed men and women as leaders and teachers in our churches and the result is disagreements, heresies, strife, disunity, division, and church break-away. ‘How can someone who does not know the Purpose of your ministry become Sunday school teacher overnight just because he was an Elder in one other church?’
1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” To be disciplined is to be in charge of your body-time-thoughts-habits-and in fact general attitude. Your purpose demands discipline. It was discipline that saved Joseph from the hand of Potiphar’s wife – Genesis 39:-14
*it was discipline that kept Daniel from eating the king’s meat – Daniel 1:8 *Discipline armed Uriah against all of King David’s pressures. *Those who are disciplined are solid at heart – Are you discipline? Join me in the next issue of miles as I look at the next stage in ‘The Demand of Purpose.’ Coiled from Apostle Granduers Book – Purpose Demand
l
I do not understand the rationale behind honoring an individual (in a church service), who has no regard for the word of God in the area of tithing, giving, holiness, and soul winning. Be warned. Never feel safe in the presence of those who don’t believe your Purpose. Never surround yourself with men and women who have no respect and value for your Purpose!!!
To be disciplined is to be in charge of your body-timethoughts-habits-and in fact general attitude.
Like I have mentioned before, men who will make it to the end of their lives and fulfill their destiny must be disciplined. Let us examine Abraham in Genesis 14:14; “And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.” Notice here that Abraham did not embark on this feat with untrained hands, otherwise he would utterly fail. Abraham was a man who understood the importance of discipline through training and one who practices the scripture as recorded in Proverbs 22:6; “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” He prevailed and rescued his brother and family by the help of trained, disciplined and drilled servants. Even those in the world of sports know the true meaning and value of discipline, you may need to ask Lenox Lewis prior to any of his contests, and then you will understand the true meaning of discipline. Everyone who has an overriding, heart burning Purpose will always discipline his habit, actions, appetite, words, pleasure, relationships and manners because Purpose Demands Discipline in one’s life:

DRESSING APPROPRIATELY FOR THE WEATHER
If you have Sickle Cell Disease Our Doctor’s Perspective 28
About Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario
One thing that we can all do to for our health is to dress appropriately for the weather. This is especially important for individuals with sickle cell disease. In hot weather, overheating and dehydration can trigger sickling of the red blood cells, which can cause sickle painful episodes or more severe complications. Cold is also a common trigger for sickling. In a country like Canada, where we have very cold winters but many parts of the country also have hot, humid summers, choosing the right clothes to suit the weather can sometimes be a challenge!! Here are some tips:
Cold weather — Bundle up! Make it a priority to get a warm coat Scarf, hat and gloves/mittens are important to cover up exposed areas on very cold days Warm, waterproof boots will keep your feet dry on snowy or slushy days Dress in layers – This strategy will help to keep you warm, no matter what the temperature happens to be outside! You can always add or remove a layer, depending on temperature changes, or if you are coming in and out of buildings
Warm weather Avoid synthetic fabrics (e.g. polyester) that don’t let air circulate on your skin
Wear light fabric colours if you will be spending time in direct sunlight – they help to reflect the suns hot rays Consider wearing a large-brimmed hat to keep your face and neck in the shade Wear layers! This is very important if you are going to be spending time in the hot outdoors, but also going into air-conditioned spaces – you don’t want to risk getting too cold. Avoid over-exerting yourself Try to stay out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day Use fans or air-conditioning to stay cool. Drink plenty of fluid – Don’t forget to bring a water bottle along with you!
About Sickle Cell Disease: Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) or sickle cell anemia is a hereditary genetic disease characterized by the presence of abnormal crescent-shaped red blood cells. It affects Canadians of Asian, African, and Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Caribbean heritage It is estimated that 2000+ Ontarians are living with sickle cell disease and up to one in four from some specific cultural background carries the sickle cell trait.
Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario also known as SCAGO is a member under the national umbrella of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Canada. It was established in 2005 to: • Improve treatment and care received by patients living with sickle cell disease by providing better education about the disease to the medical and allied health professionals. • Educate the community on sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait with the expected outcome of reducing the number of children born with the disease • Support those living with the disease by providing access to peer support group meetings, scholarships, learning for life seminars and advocating on their behalves with the Ministry of Health.

The 24/7 Marriage
Why there is hope for your marriage in these days The wedding vow of “Till death do us part” has become a romantic symbol in marriage ceremonies. Instead of a solemn promise between a husband and wife for a lasting love and union, the phrase has taken a whole new meaning. If the rising divorce statistics is any indication, couples nowadays do not need death to do them apart. They do it themselves. In these days of family being re-defined or divorce being the trend, there is hope for our marriages. We can safeguard our marriages 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The first boy-meets-girl story of Adam and Eve outlines for us practical things to have a marriage working 24/7. Theirs was a story that has an incredible meeting, bout of conflict, and sad consequences – like most marriages are today. The First Feeling One thing we can do is to remember the first feeling. Can you imagine how Adam
felt when God brought Eve to him? Adam was ecstatic! In Genesis 2:23, Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.” And he was not being literal. Some of us could remember the events but not the feelings. Remember how dizzy you felt just by his stare. Or how you felt warm with just one smile. My husband Michael can recall his exact thoughts and feelings the first time he laid eyes on me. He was blown away and thought to himself “Wow! That’s how I want my wife to be.” Don’t wait until you have grandchildren to tell your stories to. Relive your stories to each other. Always remember the feelings. Keep the memories near. You will need these when trials come. To Eat or Not to Eat When trials and conflicts do come, we
30
have to communicate decisions. Adam and Eve were together listening to the serpent (Genesis 3:6). They both decided for their own selves. This was disastrous then as it would be now. To decide together means consulting our spouses before making a decision. It means listening to your wife or husband for what they can contribute. It means supporting your partner with his decision. Sometimes, it means following your spouse’s suggestion and changing your decision. Perhaps some find it hard to share the responsibility of making decisions like I did. Early in our marriage, I treated Michael just like he was still my bestfriend. Sharing decisions requires an intimacy that is only found in a marriage relationship. The moment I realized that any relationship would be eclipsed by that of the husband-wife relationship, it made it easier for me to include Michael
in on my decisions. We need to decide together on our “to eat or not to eat” dilemmas. Each Looks Out for the Other Deciding together helps us to be accountable to each other. When God was looking for them after they had eaten of the fruit, both Adam and Eve hid from God (Genesis 3:9-10). Being accountable to each other allows our partners to lead us to God, not hide away with us. I had a customer who was rude and nasty and made it difficult for anyone. Mere talking on the telephone with that customer made me feel low and beaten. I wanted to somehow fight back and wished for terrible curses to happen to my customer. But Michael helped me to realize that I should declare blessings instead. I sought God’s forgiveness and forgave my customer. It was not easy at first but I started to pray and bless my customer. That was when God worked in my behalf. When we are accountable, we encourage
our partners to face God, knowing that He will forgive us. Forgiving each other comes easier too.
being frazzled. They were full of thanksgiving to God. We do not deal with trials alone.
Face Life Together We cannot be accountable and not accept consequences together. Accountability removes the fingerpointing that Adam did when he told God, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate” (Genesis 3:12). Accepting consequences together is not only holding her hand to face what will come next. It also means being willing to be at the forefront as well. I have married friends who bought their first home last year. The whole process was more stressful than it should have been. They had to deal with one problem after another. Nothing went without issues. I thought that they could have gotten a better broker, better mortgage rate, or a better price. I thought they would be downcast and disheartened at the end. But when I saw them during their move, they were nowhere near
Till Death Do Us Part There’s one last thing that we need to keep in mind. Keep God in your midst. If we would allow Him, He would walk with us, instruct us, look for us, and save us like He did with Adam and Eve. God is the author of marriage. He intended it to be that what He joined together, let no man – or death - do part.

TESTIMONIAL COLUMN
I SURVIVED THIS Praise God It’s not often that the pastor gets to publicly testify, most times because we are always listening to others testify that we forget that it is also important that we share our own testimonies. Last year, while on a missionary trip to Nigeria, I was in the car with my brother driving, we approached a bridge, and as we were descending from the bridge, there was traffic and so every car including ours had to stop. As we were standing still on the bridge, I had a cracking noise and suddenly the glasses began to fly all around us, it took me a while to realize that a trailer carrying so much load had lost control and as a result smashed into our jeep and because it could not stop, proceeded to drag us along until it hit a pavement. The car as you can see was 60% totaled but the greatest news of all was that, I and my brother came out to the applause of the crowd who thought we would have been dead by then. So I thank God on behalf of myself, my family and the church of God. Rev. Dr. Don Ifepe

FROM THE PULPIT
THE RIGHTEOUS ARE AS BOLD AS
A LION This year is a very good year disguised in the shadows of the valley of death so that those that fear death will quickly run and hide in the name of seeking protection and while they are hiding the God of Favor will pass them by and they will lose their divine opportunity to prosper and be in good health even as their soul prospers as well. The bible warns against the enemy in the spirit known as fear, we all fear everything around us, some of us cannot even sleep when they see a little ant pass by in the bedroom or when they have a dream that
seems to be disastrous in nature, they begin to anticipate the danger coming to pass sooner or later in their life but that is not supposed to be so because the Lord reveals to redeem. Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. My point is that we are supposed to be as bold as a Lion, I have never seen a Lion young or old step aside for any other in the forest, they are born in boldness and
34
live in boldness and of course die in their nature of boldness but again come to think of it, how many have you really seen die in the line of duty, maybe on the National Geographic Channel and trust me it must be an epic occasion when that occurs. We have the Lion of Judah as our father and I know that a Lion can never give birth to a chicken and verse versa. There definitely must be days when situations seem and look very fearful but we must not let our guard of bravery and boldness to slip off, like Job in the middle of disaster, after losing his whole
family except his wife, losing all his possessions, and above all his health was rapidly demising, yet he declared that I know that my redeemer lives. What a situation, I believe the bible definition of a great man is one who can stand the test of time and still believe in the name of the Lord our God as his ultimate deliverer. Psalm 3:6 “I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.” The truth is that Christians has been lied to so many times and we have come to believe those lies partly because they are convenient and very suited to our desires, at conversion to Christianity a lot of us were told that once you become a Christian all your battles are over in life, the Lord will take care of you and you will not be required to do anything but just enjoy peace, joy and righteousness in the Holy Spirit. That is a big lie based on the scripture above, the Lord tells us here that we will have enemies encamped against us in
thousands and ready to pounce and have us for their next meal but we shall not be afraid of them because the Lord our God is with us and will never allow us to be destroyed by their negative effects. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” NKJV So you can see that the mistake or misrepresentation of the truth is not from the word of God, it is man’s eagerness to impress by way of winning souls that have led so many preachers to paint a very rosy picture of the word to would be converts. There is enjoyment and glory but not in the world system rather a believer ought to know that the world will always be a battlefield between good and evil, right and wrong, darkness and the light until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that’s why is written that in this world we (The Christians) will have persecution but in Christ we will have peace and victory because He has overcome the world for us and therefore we are in this world but not of this world simply meaning that we do not walk after the flesh anymore but move in the realm of the spirit because to be 2010 BMW X3 xDrive30i,PANO ROOF, NO ACCIDENT canal minded PRICE: $14,888 + Sales Taxes leads to death but to be spiritually minded simply leads to life in Christ Jesus.

TIME TO CONQUER YOUR FEARS Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” KJV You have to know, accept and understand that you will surely pass through the valley and shadow of death at some point in your life because no risk, then no gain, but in the midst of it all you shall not be afraid because you know that He that keeps you neither sleeps nor slumbers, nothing takes Him by surprise, remember that He is the author and finisher of your faith, so relax. Romans 8:30 “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them He also called: and whom he called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.” In Christ, there is only one destination, GLORY, all other things are there to escort you to your crown from heaven, that is why the world will try to get you to give up on yourself. Now remember that you will succeed if everyone says that you will fail and only you say you will succeed but you will surely fail if everyone says that you will succeed and only you say that you will fail. The truth is that only you can fail you in life. Psalm 118:6 “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The Lord is on your side and so you have no right to entertain any fears in life, but sir, you do not understand my situation, true I may not understand your particular plight but there is a God who sits in heaven and knows and sees all things, and He is making ways for you in spiritual and physical places, all you need do is to stand firm and see that the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them no more in Jesus name, Amen. Finally many times we are quick to run from whatever it is that is pursuing us but we never sit to ask and consider what or where we are running to, consider all these and make a conscious decision to become as bold as a Lion. ‘If you have not discovered something that is what dying for then you are not fit to live’

FEAR NOT because... Do you know that the only force that can stop you is fear? Contrary to your belief that enemies or evil can stop you. Yes, evil will always attempt to stop you but this it tries through the power of fear. whatever we set our mind to do, removing ‘Fear’ and adding faith in our God that He is more than able to do it for us. First of all I want to bring to your notice the word of God in the book of 2 Chronicles 20:20 “So they rose in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper” There is a need for us to know and believe in the divine unction from God, the people of Judah were faced with a very scary situation, five great kings deciding to attack them at once but rather than be afraid they turned their face to God and the Lord gave them an instruction which they carried out to the latter and of course, as with any instruction given by God, they achieved victory in the battle. We must believe in God’s divine sovereignty, but beyond that, we must also believe in the words of His anointed rep-
resentatives on earth. It is the man or woman of God that would give you the instruction from God for your victory. The man, who decides that he would not believe in God or His prophets, runs the risk of blindly going to war without knowing the real nature of neither the enemies nor the strategy for victory. Back to the discussion on the reasons why you ought not to exercise fear in your life, well, apart from the obvious reason that fear will only complicate your issue without offering you any room for victory, the bible supplies us ample evidences with substance of reality to prove that in God there is no need or room for fear. Fear Not because the WORD OF GOD says so in… Jeremiah 1:12 “Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word” Colossians 3:3 “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” Psalm 125:3 “For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous. Lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity. Proverbs 19:21 “There are many plans

in man’s heart. Nevertheless the LORD’S counsel that will stand.” Numbers 23:23 “For there is no sorcery against Jacob. Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob. And of Israel, Oh what God has done! Isaiah 7:6-7 “Let us go up against Judah and trouble it, and let us make a gap in its wall for ourselves, and set a king over them, son of Tabel” – Thus says the Lord God: It Shall not stand. Nor shall it come to pass.” Jeremiah 20:11 “But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome ONE. Therefore my prosecutors will stumble and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten” Exodus 14:13-14 “And Moses said to the people. “Do not be afraid, Stand Still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Romans 8:31 “What then shall we say to these things If God is for us, who can be against us? Remain Blessed And Fear Not… l
SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY
When on evangelism, one is often confronted with question, “What makes you think you are better than us?” The true answer is that none is better than the other because as we will see from this study, all flesh are nothing and that is exactly why we need the redemptive work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. The bible is the key to transformation, it takes a man from a place of obscurity to a place of glory because man is nothing without the power and mercy of God. In this study, we have decided to look at the nature and standing of man without embracing redemption in Jesus Christ. FIRST PREPOSITION - Outside the redemption of Christ there is no difference in the standing of men before God, there is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:19 “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” Without redemption all men would be condemned on the basis of sin and guilt. What this then means is that everyone is the same but the anointing of Christ upon an ordinary life makes such a person to become supernatural, putting off the nature of bondage to attain life in Christ Jesus. SECOND PREPOSITION – Every mouth is stopped and the entire world brought under the judgment of God: Psalm 130:3 “If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” You see as long as we are to be judged under the law, all men remain a product of the law and no one has been able to fulfill the dictates of the law. No one is justified under the law, check yourself just today as you read this, has someone made you so mad either in traffic or at work that you cursed out or used a foul language? You see the world so designed the law system that none is guiltless but thank God for God who delivered us all from the clutches of the law.
The Original Condition of All Man Before God and Outside the Redemption that is in Jesus Christ THIRD PREPOSITION - All who are of the deeds of the law (outside the grace of God in Jesus Christ) are under a curse: 1 John 3:8-10 “8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
whole and clean.
This is the mystery of the work of redemption, that anyone in Christ is redeemed from the curse of sin because for sin to have effect in producing a curse, you must first be guilty then you pay the price. The blood of Jesus in the work of redemption has made it possible that in the eyes of God we are made
In conclusion, this is meant as an encouragement for all that are reading, God is impartial and will not condemn anyone to suffer under the bondage of the law but instead made a way of escape for us all. You that is not born – again, you can still become special and redeemed by simply accepting Christ as your personal Lord and savior.
37
FOURTH PREPOSITION – All who have not been born of God (all who are outside the redemption of Jesus Christ) are children of the devil. This is true because while we are all created in God’s image and are His offspring many make a conscious choice to walk away from Christ and not accept him as their personal Lord and savior and therefore cannot enjoy the status of being called his children. But you can become his own by faith in Christ Jesus, you must come to a state of mind where you voluntarily surrender your life to him: Galatians 3:26 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

DIVINE INSIGHT Life is beautiful but it can also seem unfair sometimes. One day it seems all is well, as if heaven has your name written on the streets. Everything you touch seems to turn to gold and you feel you are on top of the world but all of a sudden you seem to be in hell itself. No one wants to talk to you, nothing seems to be working for you and you start to wonder why things have turned from good to bad. The religious ones begin to ask themselves what they
did wrong to warrant the turn of events in their life. We’ve all been there, and it certainly is not a funny place to be. You begin to hear people testify in the past of how life used to be sweet for them and even go ahead to give reasons why it all turned sower in their destinies. The truth is that no condition is permanent except salvation in Christ, every other thing will go through
‘Change’ at one point or the other based on what God has decreed for each individual, the truth is that in our times of trial, the strength of our destiny and life is manifested. Gold can never become precious unless it goes through the tunnel of fire called ‘Refinery’, just like a person cannot reach his/her full potentials except they go through change, and change cannot happen without something activating it, a man who once survived without food in the
PROFITING desert for two weeks confessed that he has never fasted for one day and yet when condition met him in the desert, he lasted on three cans of water for two weeks. James 1:2-4 “My Brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” We profit through trial, they say money can buy you friends but not true friends, so I dare say that trials cannot buy you many friends but it can buy you very good friends. The scripture above brings out the ways we can truly profit from our trials in life: Trials do not come in singles: There is a popular saying ‘When it rains, it pours’ please bear in mind that the devil will never attack you with one situation, rather his aim is to break you. ands so he makes sure that they come like a flood. Remember Job in the bible, when the devil attacked him, he lost his children, properties and even lost his health but he continued to believe. You must know your outcome even in the midst of your trials: The second sentence in that scripture talks about counting it as joy in your times of difficulties, not because you love to suffer, but because you know that your God will give you double blessing for every trouble you may encounter. Hear this very clearly, after the

rain, comes’ sunshine.
You must remain patient and calm: It is easier said than done you may say. But I know that for anyone to survive in times of trial, they must be very patient and calm. Now a lot of people may wait not because they wish to, but because they have no option. The difference with one that is patient and another that is waiting out of necessity is that, while one will be frustrated, thereby losing their joy, the other will be in expectation knowing that they are like a woman in labor. The joy of delivery is always greater than the pain of labor. The last point here is that a patient man or woman will receive all the rewards due them: Job though suffered for a period of about nine months but the bible testifies that ‘The later end of Job was far greater than his beginning’.
for the wisdom to know, understand and deal with your situation. Sometimes there are things the Lord will tell you to do, sometimes there are corrections you need to make in your life in order to change your situation. All the time, there are lessons that we must learn from our situation in order to live a glorious life. The bible is not interested in where we are right now but it wants to pick us from where we are and take us to where we ought to be. Endurance (James 1:12) – you must learn to endure pain and temptations, you must be like a good boxer who not only knows how to throw punches but he also knows how to receive and absorb punches as well. The greatest boxer to have lived is Mohammed Ali and he achieved it by being a great receiver of punches and punishment in the ring. You must learn to endure with joy the cross knowing that God is more than able to fulfill that which He has promised.
There are two key things that can enable you to receive victory and profit immensely from times of trials:
In closing, count it all joy because the situation that has brought you so much tears in your life will also be the same situation to create testimonies in your life.
Wisdom (James 1:5) – you must ask God
God Bless

No Jail for the Man Who Texted Photo of Himself Penetrating Rehtaeh Parsons as She Vomited by Hilary Beaumont A Nova Scotia man who texted a photo that showed him penetrating a 15-yearold girl and flashing a thumbs-up while she vomited won’t see the inside of a jail anytime soon. Instead, today a judge sentenced the man to 12 months probation.
The young man cried when he first heard Rehtaeh died. “You should have been crying when she was alive,” the judge told him. When given a chance to speak Thursday, the man who posed for the photo said, “I have already apologized to Rehtaeh a few days after the picture was sent.” He said he would like to apologize to her parents through his lawyer.
The girl in the photo, Rehtaeh Parsons, faced vicious slut-shaming and harassment as a result of the photo. She later locked herself in a bathroom and attempted suicide. Her parents took her off life support three days later. She was 17 when she died. Until recently, Parsons’ name was smothered by a publication ban as she was underage when the photo was taken, and thus it qualified as child pornography. Her parents lobbied NS Justice Minister Lena Diab to lift the ban so her story could be publicized. In December, Diab removed the ban on the condition that Rehtaeh’s name is respected. The young man who posed for the photo was also underage at the time. His name is still covered by the ban. Now, Rehtaeh’s mother Leah Parsons said she was relieved the ban was lifted. “This morning when I started to get ready, that was the first kind of big relief I felt off my shoulders,” she said. “I thought, ‘Oh, today I don’t have to remind people, I don’t have to send out a notice to say her name today, we’re actually allowed to say her name.’ That was very debilitating. It’s a relief.” During the sentencing hearing, the courtroom was packed with reporters tweeting Rehtaeh’s name.
“This has had a huge negative impact on me,” he said. He was bullied as a result of the photo, his lawyer told the court. “Humans make mistakes,” said the young man, who turned 20 yesterday. “I will not live with the guilt of someone passing away, but I will live with the guilt of the photo.” “Her voice was not heard when she struggled to be heard, but it sure is now,” Leah Parsons told the court during her victim impact statement. “I was unable to console her as she crumbled emotionally after that photo was taken.” The man who appeared in the photo “displayed absolutely no respect” for Rehtaeh, judge Gregory Lenehan said in his ruling. “Ms. Parsons was treated as no more than a prop for his enjoyment.” In November, Lenehan handed a second young man, who snapped the photo, a conditional discharge. At today’s sentencing, he said posing for the “sexually degrading” photo and texting it to two people warranted a harsher penalty. “You lit the wild fire, so to speak, and it got completely out of control,” judge Lenehan said to the man who appeared in the photo.
42
He said he hadn’t failed Rehtaeh, but the justice system had failed her. “This will be a life sentence for me,” he concluded. “I am truly sorry.” Listing mitigating factors in the case, his lawyer said the man became well known after Anonymous activists in Halifax publicized his name. As a result, “he has to likely move away.” Following the sentencing, members of Halifax anonymous wearing Guy Fawkes masks yelled inaudibly at the young man’s supporters as they left the courthouse. This is a tragedy in itself, the system has all these laws to punish its citizens for far lesser offenses and yet when a person commits such horrendous crime against humanity and God, they walk away with a slap on the wrist kind of judgment.

Around the World
East vs West They say wonders shall never end and it is so true, there seems to be a mellow drama playing out in Ukraine where it seems that the bitterness of the ancient cold war is back in full force or kind of. I always keep my eyes to the ground watching as events unfold the world over because the bible did inform us that there shall be wars, rumors of war, nations shall rise against nations, family members against family members and so many other strange occurrences. So as these unthinkable events unfold I sit back and admire the awesomeness of the God we serve. So they say that the people want to leave and join the old Russia, that seems fair and realistic you may say but the problem is in the truth of such claim since this same people have been living as one country for a long while now, while the almighty Russia was left dreaming, prophesying and wishing to claim back parts of Ukraine as their own. How come and how convenient it is for the events to occur so rapidly and conveniently in favor of Russia. I cannot be able to go forward than this but the truth is that the world continues to go through a season of turmoil that seems to defy all human solution.
more bloody and genocidal than the apartheid regime itself. He was the man and perhaps the first and only African to have been received the world over as a true general of leadership and sacrifice. But now he is gone but the nation South Africa lives on, the election has come and gone, poverty, frustration and allegations of corruption continues to come out of the rainbow nation. One cannot but wonder what it will be in the future. Some say there will be changes for the better while most predict trouble and even more mismanagement of national resources, but for now it remains peaceful relatively and calm as well. On this side all we can do is to pray that it gets better economically while peace is maintained for I am very sure that is what Madiba would have wanted for his dearly beloved nation.
The world Watches as the Killing Goes on in Syria!!!
Life after Mandela - South Africa
The war in Syria is almost a neglected and legitimate one as far as events stand today, no one country has been able to foster a peace deal and with that it seems the regime is now legitimately empowered to fight what it terms terrorist within its borders. I would imagine if this was one third world country with oil or some precious ‘Thing’, the super powers of this world would have rushed in with one mission or the other.
So the man known as Madiba is gone, he was the great grand-father of the nation known as South Africa, by all means and ramification of the word, he epitomizes the word and cult known as patriotism and statesmanship. It is a truth that was it not for Mandela post-apartheid will have been
Yes, the United Nations are debating, talking, warning and even voting but as long as Syria is concerned, there is no end in sight so long as member nations with veto powers in the Security Council are benefiting from one trade or the other, nothing
One is shocked to witness such events in a time and age when colonialism was thought to be a thing of the past.

will be done, while lives are being senselessly wasted on a daily basis.
Egypt after Mubarak The internal confusion continues and the trials continue as well but I am confused, how can they put the man that maintained stability and peace in the land for so long behind bars while they themselves do not know the way forward nor are they able to tolerate criticism. How many presidents since the ousting of Mubarak? To worsen the matter, the war on journalist and journalism is being waged in Egypt, at press time so many are locked up in jail. They are brought to court in cages and the case is adjourned at will, it really does not make sense but there seems to be ‘hope’, the president or acting president has written to the families of the detained assuring them of justice. We will be watching carefully. That’s it for this issue, so many things and events that can be talked about but one thing is synonymous in all of them, confusion, uncertainty and mystery, for example, the upcoming Nigeria Presidential elections on March 28, 2015 and with that so much tension in the corridors of power as the country’s biggest and incumbent political party PDP faces a very tough opposition in the new formed APC. The world will pray for peace and harmony although it must be mentioned that many lives are being lost already although they cannot directly be linked to the elections but the street knows what is going on. Till next issue of the miles, be safe…

Word from our Father – U.S.A
2 Corinthians 11:14: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
Rev. Daniel Garza White Wings Int'l Healing Ministry Eagle Pass, Texas (USA)
The devil and his forces of evil love to use, control and even posses those who have authority in human institutions. It is through those in authority that the devil can manipulate people, things and circumstances for his purposes. Wherever you find organization, you will find the devil snooping around trying to get in. He is highly organized and is very much a legalist.
Regarding spiritual authority, God, the Creator of good and evil, give authority to those whom He chooses. Satan and his demons are agents of evil; Jesus and his angels are
THE DEVIL IS IN THE CHURCH
agents of good. Here on earth, God has instituted human authority and as humans pursue God, He backs their authority with agents of good assisting them. Conversely, as humans break God’s law and pursue evil, the devil and his agents will assist them! Satan works his way into a position of control over spiritual leaders through unchecked sin in their lives. As they continue to cover over a secret sin, or have an unyielded area of rebellion, or have an unhealed wound somewhere in their life, the devil takes that as an open door invitation to come in and set up shop! When he gets a stronghold into organized religion, it is oftentimes very difficult to recognize him. He loves to dress himself up in religious garb and speak religious words and make himself and his puppets look good. He loves the applause of men and the rush that power and control over others gives him. He likes to put on a good show and rules through intimidation and manipulation. The only way that Satan and his schemes

can be uncovered is by the divine will of God. As we cry out to Him and humble ourselves before Him recognizing our absolute need of Him, He than may open our eyes and give us discernment and wisdom of the forces of darkness against us. He may give us insight on how the enemy came in, and the strategy on how to deal with him. One of the biggest footholds that the devil uses to gain access into the church hierarchy is pride. The pride of man brings a snare, the Bible tells us. Pride comes before the fall. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. The operation of pride is so subtle. One might experience a measure of success and begin to think that it was all as a result of his/her own doing, their own prayers, their knowledge, their goodness. As one gets puffed up on how God is using them, pride enters their heart and the enemy is near to stroke that pride and cause them to be lifted up in their own estimation. The stronghold of pride might be in a church that has the best worship in town, the coolest youth group, the biggest, newest facilities, the richest people, the fastest, largest, best yet! It could be that the pastor has great revelation or a great healing gift that really “wows” the people. It could be any number of things, and if we think that it is because of us, God may just let us go right ahead believing that.

The Shepherds Heart
This column is dedicated to the true shepherd who lays down his life to serve humanity in the ways of Jesus Christ and true church leadership. The work of God is one that only God can see the true one in the midst of all the dark shadows cast around the world. A lot of men and women of God has been forced into early retirement either through mission abortion or by their ministry going through shipwreck. A great prophet like Elijah at a point due to frustration asked that his ministry be terminated, choosing to die instead of living in the face of loneliness and despair, how do I know it was loneliness? well, he said it himself, “I only I am left”. What about the great Apostle Paul, a man whose rugged nature meant he could withstand all situations and yet he fell into a state of
abandonment at some point in his ministry: 2 Timothy 4:9-16 “Be diligent to come to me quickly; for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for ThessalonicaCrescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry. And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. Bring the Cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come-and the books, especially the parchments. Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted the words. At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.”
Reading this passage makes one feel the pain that Apostle Paul and indeed many great servants of God go through on a daily basis, I have never read about Pauls’ children nor about his immediate family but as a member of the Pharisees sect it is virtually impossible not to have been married at some point. But that is not in bible so let us leave it alone. Imagine a great man like Paul, miracle worker, evangelist, founder of most of the churches in his time, the man whose shadow was causing healing to happen for people and the only man recorded to have caused uncommon favor to happen, but yet at some point in the ministry, he found himself in need of company and competent ones at that. Today, many of our men and women of God are looked upon as super-humans,
THE ABANDONED APOSTLE people with no blood in them, so they have no feelings and can go through any circumstance without feeling hurt, but from what we witnessed in Paul’s situation he was hurting and in need of company. Listen, you are human and it is okay to find yourself going through the rigors of life just like any other human out there. Another case in time is that of David in 1 Samuel 30:1-6 “1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and
went on their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5 And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. 6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
recorded in His holy bible but yet there was a point in his life that everyone forsook him and blamed him for the disaster that took place in the village. Not minding that he suffered the same faith with the rest, and yet they singled him out for destruction as the cause of their calamity. So whatever situation you are passing through as a shepherd of the flock today, always remember it is not peculiar to you alone and that others before you and many after you have or will experience same, it is one of the price you pay for leader.
King David is described as a man after God’s own heart by God Himself and
In the case of David, he encouraged himself in the Lord and went on to pursue,

But Be Encouraged Because God Is Faithful!!!
“...always remember that God will give you double for your trouble all the time because His word stands sure forever and ever...”
overtake and recover all that was stolen, and may I add that he recovered far more than what was stolen. In your life as a servant of God know that many of your ‘worldly possessions’ may temporary be snatched from you but always remember that God will give you double for your trouble all the time because His word stands sure forever and ever Amen. On the part of Apostle Paul, he later testified of the faithfulness of God and the ability of God to keep that which we have committed onto him. Please commit all into the hands of God because only him is able to keep you through this pilgrimage called life and the forces of darkness that accompany it all the way. You will be
faced with so many circumstances of danger but always remember that it is not as bad as it always appears the first time:
2 Timothy 4:17-18 “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the Lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and 49
preserve me for His heavenly Kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!” Both men conquered by sticking to the task, the devil wants to derail you from the task set before you but God who called you has also equipped you for success, do not look to the side, move on because God is still in the business of deliverance and He will surly deliver you and me as we take the gospel to the very ends of the earth. Remain Blessed.

How Come, How Long There was a girl I used to know She was oh so beautiful But she is not here anymore She had a college degree Smart as anyone could be Had so much to live for But she fell in love With the wrong kind of man He abused her love and treated her so bad There was not enough education in her world That she could save the life of this little girl How come how long It’s not right, it’s so wrong Do we let it just go on? Turn our backs and carry on Wake up, for it’s too late Right now, we can’t wait She won’t have a second try Open up your heart As well as your eyes She tried to give a cry for help She even blamed things on herself But no one came to her aid Nothing was wrong as far as we could tell That’s we‘d like to tell ourselves But no, it wasn’t that way So she fell in love With the wrong kinda men And she paid with her life for loving that man So we must look for the signs And maybe next time we might save somebody’s life (HOOK) I on occasion met that guy Its been a feeling deep inside Something about him wasn’t right The way he proves himself a man By beatin’ his woman Oh I wish she’d seen the light (Hey) How can someone like that Call himself a man (He’s not a man) Coz in reality he’s far less than that And we cannot ignore Whenever we the signs ‘cause any kinda of abuse God knows it’s a crime
