U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC) is taking the lead in the fleet’s fight against the novel coronavirus with the stand-up of a Fleet Vaccination Cell (FVC), Jan. 11, 2021.

To ensure full and efficient vaccine distribution to more than 30 subordinate commands across 32 military medical treatment facilities (MTFs), encompassing nearly 1.2 million people, Fleet Forces Command established the FVC to act as a conduit between vaccine supply and demand. “The FVC is a high-performing team that ensures our forces get the vaccine as

quickly as possible and in DoD-prioritized order. We work closely with our local medical teams, and the leadership in D.C. to ensure every dose is used, and to influence the supply chain to bring us more,” said Rear Adm. Doug Beal, USFFC vice commander and FVC lead. Working with liaison officers from each type and system command, the FVC is the central point of contact,

Submarine Force veteran earns Meritorious Civilian Service Medal

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam recently named Ming Truong, an electrical engineer with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic to a seat on the Guardian and Conservator Advisory Board serving the Commonwealth. Truong will serve in this role in his personal capacity, not as a NAVFAC representative. During his four-year term, Truong will work with the Commissioner of the Department for the Aging and Rehabilitative Services, finding ways to help the Commonwealth’s growing senior citizen population. This board advises the Commissioner to align policy and public programs, which promote human dignity, improve self-sufficiency, as well as the quality of life for incapaci-
