Joshua jumped up, head butting a soccer ball. As he came back down, an acute pain shot through his leg.

The avid soccer player knew his time as an athlete would be put on hold the moment he fell to the ground.

“I’ve played sports my whole life,” said U.S. Navy Aircrewman 2nd Class Joshua Barrera. “It’s just something I love doing and I was worried if I was going to be able to play again—if I would ever be able to walk again.”

In hopes of getting back to the soccer pitch, Barrera researched treatment options and facilities available to him as a military member in Hampton Roads.

Barrera, who is assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron-28, Norfolk, Va., found that Fort Eustis’ McDonald Army Health Center ’s physical therapy office was the best option to treat his ligamentous injuries.

“I came (to McDonald Army Health Center) because they offer unique services that other therapy programs don’t,” said Barrera. “With certain injuries, like (mine), it is dependent on how they reengage all the muscle and tendons again, so the services they offer are great for my situation.”

The MAHC physical therapy office offers a wide range of programs from agility classes to personalized recovery plans. Barrera took advantage of all the programs available.

Through each treatment he found what he needed to regain his strength—dedication from his rehabilitation support team.

“All the therapist here are incredibly engaging with you as you are going through rehabilitation,” said Barrera.

“They push you to make progress throughout, instead of you just encouraging yourself.”

When he first started treatment, Barrera needed assistance to continue his everyday life.

“Little things, like getting a bowl of cereal and bringing it to your room—I couldn’t even do that without help,” said Barrera.

After surgery and six months of mobility training, Barrera was cleared to perform more intense exercises such as squatting and running.

To help him get the most out of his new exercise regiments, U.S. Army Capt. Michael Konetsky, MAHC physical therapy department chief, performed assessments on Barrera.

For instance, during a running analysis, Konetsky recorded a video of Barrera running up and down a hallway to analyze the sailor ’s form.

corrective exercises,” said Konetsky. “These exercises help him establish a new form of running. When you are dealing with a new skill, the exercises may feel cumbersome or uncomfortable, which is very normal because proper form is something that happens after a long time–not overnight.”

For service members who suffer serious injuries, Barrera recommends, patience and a positive attitude as these helped him throughout his treatment.

“At one point, I was obviously upset that it happened, but then I took it as a positive thing,” said Barrera. “I said to myself, ‘It can only get better from here,’ and it did. It got a lot better. I think if you go in with that mindset of fighting back then your way back becomes more empowering to yourself.”

While on bedrest for his injury, Barrera earned his personal training license and functional fitness license to help prevent other athletes from injuries.

As he works diligently to get back to playing soccer, Barrera is also studying to earn a sports medicine degree to become a physical therapist.

“It’s a way for me to help prevent other people from doing what I did,” said Barrera. “I don’t want anyone to suffer how I did, going through the mental and physical state of an injury, it wears you down. I want to help people going through that and hopefully helping them through their injuries to get them back to what they love.”

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. — The 94th Fighter Squadron deployed their U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors and personnel in support of Red Flag 17-4 to Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Aug. 10, 2017. The aircraft are assigned to the 1st Fighter Wing at Joint Base LangleyEustis, Va. Red Flag will go from Aug. 14 to 25, 2017, giving the 94th FS pilots, maintenance personnel, ground controllers and space and cyber operators an opportunity to experience advanced, relevant, and realistic combat-like situations with multinational partners in a controlled environment.

The 27th Aircraft Maintenance Unit and the 94th AMU competed during the 1st Maintenance Squadron Weapons Load Crew of the Quarter competition at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Aug. 4, 2017.

Airmen assigned to the 1st Maintenance Group are responsible for worldwide rapid deployment and employment of combat-ready and mission-capable F-22 Raptors.

With a finish time of 26 minutes and 18 seconds, the 94th was declared victorious.

This competition traditionally gives each load crew the opportunity to showcase the knowledge and capabilities of their respective AMU. During the competition the crews were

This competition is held annually, allowing each crew the chance to earn the recognition as “the best of the best.”

It also gives each crew the opportunity to improve their combat readiness and technical skills.

Law enforcement conference promotes police safety

The Federal Bureau of Investigation hosted a Law Enforcement OfďŹ cers Killed and Assaulted conference at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Aug. 9, 2017.

The LEOKA conference provided Hampton Roads’ local and military law enforcement ofďŹ cers’ training, life-saving tips and networking to improve their readiness within the community. “Allowing the group to co-mingle and enjoy the atmosphere can be an advantage for the community,â€? said Special Agent Michael Freeman, FBI training coordinator. “A lot of crime is multijurisdictional and having a partnership between ofďŹ cers could lead to more arrests and safer streets.â€?

With more than 250 Hampton Roads law enforcement participants, attendees such as OfďŹ cer Shardae Guest, Department of the Air Force police ofďŹ cer, said she learned a great deal about ofďŹ cer safety through the experiences of the civilian law enforcement. “Civilian ofďŹ cers encounter more complex situations on a regular basis than we do on military installations,â€? said Guest. “Even though we are in law enforcement, a majority of our ofďŹ cers are focused on installation security, so having this opportunity to learn how to keep our ofďŹ cers and community safe was truly beneďŹ cial for our team.â€?

Along with sharing local stories, the numerous participants were introduced to case studies and videos of offenders who critically assaulted law enforcement ofďŹ cers. “When we interview offenders, we are looking for the ‘why,’â€? said Philip Wright, FBI LEOKA training instructor and liaison specialist. “In understanding offender ’s mindsets, we can save the lives of our ofďŹ cers.â€?

Another dynamic covered was attention to detail. According to Wright, lack of such can lead to complacency in tasks such as handcufďŹ ng, noting ofďŹ cers just expect offenders to comply with an arrest, which puts ofďŹ cers at the most risk. “The perception of safety feeds into complacency,â€? said Wright. “OfďŹ cers need to invest time into their safety, take training seriously and remember that everything they do is for their family. This is the best way to save lives—especially their own.â€?

Since participating in the conference, Guest said she has become more observant and taking her time to think situations through completely while on-and-off duty.

She also noted the training opened her eyes to parts of her job that could use improvement, such as practicing foot pursuits and how to de-escalate hostile situations. “As ofďŹ cers, we have to understand that we control the pace of the situation,â€? said Guest. “This training

PLAYING SOLDIER

A life of service before self 633RD AIR BASE WING PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Going down life’s winding road, U.S. Air Force Capt. Alex Lu, 633rd Air Base Wing chaplain, concluded that he could plan for his future, but God would be the one to guide his path.

Lu was born and raised in China, but his family, who was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution, explained to him that they planned to move and become citizens of the United States. It is through this journey that Lu found his identity and life’s mission.

A CHANCE ENCOUNTER

Lu grew up in China with a passion to learn about different cultures and languages. At the age of 21, he applied for and was accepted into a college in Germany. Little did he know, nearby bible students would soon deliver his life’s purpose, the gospel, to his door.

“I remembered my mom and my cousin would go to church, but were so different from one another,” said Lu. “My mom was kind and giving, but my cousin was very vain, just trying to look the part for others to see. When the bible students came, they showed a sincere love for God and the sharing of his word. It made me wonder, ‘how can the same faith produce two different kinds of people’, and I wanted to learn more.”

Having a newfound desire to serve and learn, he went to an American Bible College in Switzerland to try it out for a year. One year turned to two, then two to three, suddenly he stood in front of his peers, friends and family as a graduate. Soon after commencement, he was called to be an associate pastor at a Chinese church in Quincy, Massachusetts.

“That’s a miracle in itself,” said Lu. “Usually a Chinese immigrant church in America would look for pastors in China, America, Taiwan or Hong Kong, but they don’t look for Chinese pastors in Europe, and I was the only Chinese student in the history of that school.”

During his second year as an associate pastor, he went to seminary in Kansas City and ran into an Air Force Chaplain recruiter, who peaked his curiosity about becoming a military chaplain.

“I’ve always had an interest in the military,” said Lu. “As a child I remember enjoying playing soldiers and things like that.”

Later, a friend introduced him to a U.S. Army Reserve chaplain, who talked to him about incarnational ministry, which gives people the opportunity to immerse themselves and provide ministry to troops wherever they are.

“I thought to myself, troops are out there facing life and death on a daily basis,” said Lu. “In those kinds of situations, people tend to question life and its meaning; I wanted to help them and bring God’s presence to them.”

That impulse to help and serve led him to make the final decision to become a chaplain candidate.

FINDING HIS CALLING

“Before coming on to active duty, I took a unit of clinical pastoral education,” said Lu. “When I did, we ran into the time of the Boston Marathon bombings.”

Lu had no prior experience dealing with trauma, but he was a chaplain candidate and was told to provide ministry to those affected by the bombings.

“They said I did a good job, but what I found out was that I was good at listening to people,” said Lu. “I don’t necessarily have all the answers, but I can listen to their hearts and provide comfort from God.” Everything seemed to point him in one direction, but no decision in life comes uncontested.

“When I decided to go active duty in the Army, that’s when my fiancé broke up with me,” said Lu. “She felt like it was a risky move because of the stories about chaplains going to war and coming back with post-traumatic stress disorder that affected their marriage.”

Lu’s fiancé didn’t want to take the risk as a potentially newlywed couple, but Lu said he knew it was God’s calling for him to serve.

“The period I was a chaplain candidate, I did internships at West Point and Fort Knox,” said Lu. “All my evaluations came out really good and that gave me confidence in this being God’s calling for me.”

Lu experienced the reality that the church is not just a building, it’s a community. He enjoyed being able to camp out with the troops in the rain wearing a poncho, congregating in chow tents and helping them through their spiritual concerns. God was where they went, he wasn’t confined to a building.

“I also spoke to nearly 30 different individuals, from pastors to seminary students and professors, including an atheist I knew as a co-worker,” said Lu. “All of them told me the same thing, follow your dreams and your passion, because if you don’t, one day you’ll regret it.”

So, on to join the Army he went.

I AM AN AMERICAN AIRMAN

In the Army he served his country, his God and his troops. For about half of his three years in the Army, Lu was away from home station, either deployed or in training.

During this time, Lu thought of how important his parents are to him, and wanted to live close by incase they

needed him. He enjoyed being an Army chaplain, but ten years down the road, his parents would be in their 80’s. At that point, he knew they would need him closer—in his heart he wanted to serve his family as well.

Getting close to his family wasn’t a feasible reality in the Army. However, his family lived near Hanscom Air Force base, Massachusetts. He heard from friends that the Air Force often approved humanitarian reassignments, so in order to have that option in the future, he looked into making a move toward the Air Force.

After the 11 month process of leaving the Army and joining the Air Force, Lu got assigned to the Joint Base LangleyEustis Chaplain Corps, where his unit sees him as a unique asset to the Airmen they serve.

“Some chaplains’ life and ministry experiences might not be as deep as Chaplain Lu’s. He brings a multicultural experience—he’s kind of the full package, and has been a blessing for our staff,” said Lt. Col. Brian McCormack 633rd ABW chaplain. “He’s the kind of person who will listen to people, look at the situation, and then think of what can we do to help this person or unit.

Those are the people we want in the chaplaincy. You couldn’t ask for a more dedicated person.”

As for Lu’s future, he is excited to serve the members of the 633rd ABW, his family and his God.

According to the U.S. Army Public Health Command, AWCs are overwhelmingly successful at U.S. military installations at home and abroad, and provide a holistic approach for specific, individual wellness plans and biometric screening.

The AWC on Fort Eustis is one of 32 across the Army. The centers provide a wide range of services to help military members, families, retirees and Department of Defense civilians meet their health, wellness and fitness goals.

Maj. Gen. Malcolm B. Frost, Center for Initial Military Training commander and JBLE Senior Army Element commander, gave remarks during the ceremony, expressing the importance of wellness services to mission success.

“Soldiers can get a great understanding of who they are, [how] their body is and what their mind-state is,”

said Frost. “They can develop fitness and wellness for the future so they can be part of a greater team.”

The AWC’s services include metabolic testing, health assessment review, healthy nutrition education, exercise testing, stress management education, weight management, biometric screening and general wellness education.

“We need every Soldier in the U.S. Army ready.

Readiness for combat, fighting the nation’s wars, is what we’re about,” said Frost. “Fitness and wellness is the cornerstone of that – it’s about Soldiers being ready to do their jobs when the nation calls.”

AWCs have three ways customers can be seen: 1. Referred either by their medical provider or unit commander.

2. Self-refered by contacting the center and requesting an appointment.

3. Walking-in. However, appointments are preferred so that the center can provide the best service designed to meet the customer’s needs.

The Fort Eustis AWC is on the first floor of Bldg. 2114, Pershing Ave. The center is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and all services are free.

Explosives Ordinance Disposal technicians from around the U.S. Air Force participated in an chemical decontamination scenario Aug. 8-9, 2017, during Operation Llama Fury 3.0 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

The two-day event aimed to further the standardization of EOD training and evaluations through the chemical Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) exercise.

The backstory of the scenario featured a forklift operator who dropped a projectile munition filled with nerve gas from a pallet, and then observed liquid agent leaking from the munition and initiated emergency procedures.

“We tried to target what the scenarios [operators] really don’t like doing, so we did the chemical operations and nuclear operations,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Taylor Saum, 633rd Civil Engineer Squadron EOD section chief quality assurance and OLF 3.0 exercise coordinator. “The more time we spend doing these kind of scenarios, the better we will get at it. It doesn’t change overseas, it’s hot in the desert, its hot here, to be ready for the scenarios we have to do it, there’s no other way to get better.”

Throughout the two days, the seven teams were exposed to rain, adding to the difficulty for of the varying exercise operations. While adjusting to those circumstances, the teams had to verify the type of munition, prevent further spread of contamination, seal the leak and package it.

“Just in the chemical operations alone,

we’ve learned quite a bit and I have gotten a lot of experience,” said Airman Aaron Richards, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron EOD technician. “There’s a 1,000 ways to skin a cat, so when you do something like this you get to see those different ways because how we train is different from how Andrews trains or how McGuire trains, so it’s really been helpful especially in my young career.”

The chemical UXO exercise was one of four different scenarios OLF 3.0 presented, along with nuclear, conventional and improvised explosive device scenarios.

The teams, from three different Air Force major commands and bases across the east coast, included Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina; Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina; Joint Base Andrews, Maryland; Patrick Air Force Base, Florida; Dover Air Force Base, Delaware; Joint Base McGuireDix-Lakehurst, New Jersey; and Moody Air Force Base, Georgia participated in the exercise with Norfolk’s Police Bomb Squad.

According to Staff Sergeant Timothy Donnan, 633rd Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal team leader, UXOs are dangerous no matter what state they’re in and EOD technicians or local bomb squads should handle the potential danger that may impact the local area.

“At some point Virginia has either been a battlefield or a bombing range so there were many UXOs in the community,” said Donnan. “Civil War, Revolutionary War and modern day UXOs were still found in this area, so it’s very important to get the word out that we are here.”

Explosives Ordinance Disposal technicians from around the U.S. Air Force participated in an EOD training scenario Aug. 8-9, 2017 during Operation Llama Fury 3.0 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

The two-day event aimed to further the standardization of EOD training and evaluations through a conventional exercise setting.

The practical scenario involved an EOD technician who received a call from a local law enforcement officer, saying that a case of dynamite was found in a large field near a shed that once belong to a deceased man. The officer also said that the dynamite was covered in crystallized nitroglycerin and that there were natural gas lines running underneath the shed.

According to U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Steven Segerlund, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron EOD technician and team lead, the case of dynamite was dangerous due to the sensitivity of the crystalized nitroglycerin.

“Old ordinance or old hazardous items being left after relatives pass is something that happens a lot,” said Segerlund. “(My Airmen) haven’t had much experience yet. Being able to get their feet wet without actually putting their lives in danger is incredible; it was really good training and I hope it continues.”

The practical exercise was one of four different scenarios Operation Llama Fury offered. There were also nuclear, chemical and improvised explosive device scenarios conducted. They learned a lot to take back to their units and integrate into their training programs,” said U.S Air Force Tech. Sgt. Isiah Armstrong, 23rd CES EOD section chief, quality assurance and training. “Across the career field we now can spread this knowledge and become better and provide safety and security for military as well as civilian populations.”

Soldiers win gold in pole vault, bronze in 5K at World Championships

By Jalen Brown and Gary Sheftick FORT MEADE, Md. — U.S. Army Reserve 1st Lt. Sam Kendricks captured his first world championship in pole vault Aug. 8 and Spc. Paul Chelimo took bronze Saturday in the 5,000-meter race in London, England.

The International Association of Athletics Federations World Championships last week pitted many top athletes against each other for the first time since the Summer Olympics last year in Rio de Janeiro.

Chelimo, who had taken silver in the 5K at Rio, led the pack early on at the IAAF World Championships, but then fell back.

In the final moments, he sprinted past several runners for a dramatic third-place finish at 13:33.30, behind Muktar Edris of Ethiopia, who took gold at 13:32.79, and Mohamed Farah of Great Britain, who finished second at 13:33.22.

Kendricks went into the IAAF pole vault event ranked first in the world, having been undefeated since returning to competition in February after finishing his Transportation Basic Officer Leadership Course. In London, he beat out silver medalist Piotr Lisek of Poland and bronze competitor Renaud Lavillenie of France by clearing 5.95 meters (19 feet, 6.25 inches).

behind rival Lavillenie, who finished with silver at that event.

KENDRICKS HAS ‘WORLD’S BEST TRAINER’

After Rio, Kendricks went to Fort Lee, Virginia, for five months to complete his BOLC. He then resumed duties as a platoon leader for the 655th Transportation Company, an Army Reserve unit in Millington, Tennessee, while also training and competing at meets in the U.S. One of the advantages Kendricks said he has is his coach: retired Marine Corps Capt. Scott Kendricks, who is also his father.

“He’s the best in the world and has trained me for the past 24 years,” Kendricks said of his father. “We work well together, him the spotter and me the shooter.”

Since February, Kendricks has cleared 19 feet or higher nine times. He had the highest jump in the world this year at 19 feet, 8.5 inches, earning him the No. 1 world ranking.

“I was very confident in my preparation heading into the world championship,” Kendricks said. “We had the perfect poles to complement my jumping style that were able to maximize my potential all season long.”

“I have an advantage because I’ve jumped the usual qualifying height in training dozens of times,” he said. “Train like you fight so to speak. For me, being familiar with those heights makes the jumps almost routine. It helps.”

‘WINNING WITH GRACE’

The pole vault at the IAAF World Championships is a two-day event, starting with 32 competitors in a tough preliminary round, Kendricks said.

Athletes must jump 18 feet 8 inches during the season just to qualify.

The enormous stadium crowds in London were also loud but inspiring, he said.

“It’s hard to communicate with your coach,” he said, but added that he’s learned how to use the crowd.

“I’ve learned to gain adrenaline from the noise of those 55,000 voices,” he said. “The crowd can help you rally for your best effort ... I asked the crowd to help me by clapping and they created a thunderous noise that truly propelled me down the runway.”

Kendricks cleared the first five bars on his first attempt. Then he cleared 5.95 meters on his third try. Lisek had already failed 5.95 on his third try.

At that point, the competition was down to Kendricks and Lavillenie, who had missed 5.95 on his second try.

Lavillenie then made a move to try and salvage gold by passing his final attempt at 5.95 and instead set the bar to 6.01 meters. He only had one chance.

“6.01 (19 feet 9 inches) is a height that

kind of serves as a silver bullet in my world,” Kendricks said. “If you can jump it, you will most certainly win.

“My French rival missed. I could have set the bar anywhere I wished after that, but I chose to shake hands and end the competition. There was nothing left to prove except that Army officers can win with grace.”

Kendricks became the first American to medal in pole vault at the world championships since Brad Walker, who won gold in 2007 in Osaka, Japan. He is only the fourth American to medal at the world championships in the event.

Upon winning, Kendricks took his victory lap with the American flag draped over his shoulders. He says that as an Army officer, he represents his nation, unit, and family and does so proudly.

OTHER ARMY ATHLETES

Other Army athletes competing in the IAAF World Championships included Sgt. Elkanah Kibet, who took 16th out of about 100 competitors in the marathon race. Kibet finished with a time of 2:15:14.

Spc. Shadrack Kipchirchir finished ninth in the 10,000-meter race Aug. 4, with a time of 27:07.55, the third fastest time in U.S. history. His teammate in the Army World Class Athlete Program, Spc. Leonard Korir, finished 13th with a time of 27:20.18, the sixth-fastest time that a U.S. competitor ever ran.

Air Force welcomes new undersecretary

WASHINGTON (AFNS) — In 1977, Matthew Donovan left for Air Force Basic Military Training.

Four decades later on Aug. 11, 2017, at the Pentagon, he ceremoniously recited the oath of office to be the undersecretary of the Air Force.

Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson presided over the ceremony and welcomed Donovan back into the Air Force formation.

“He understands the mission of Air Force [and] he also understands what it’s really all about,” Wilson said. “Matt will be a great leader for all of us…helping to make the country safe through dominant air and space power.”

As USecAF, Donovan oversees the Air Force’s annual budget of more than $130 billion and is responsible for the affairs of the Department of the Air Force, including organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of approximately 660,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian Airmen and their families, world-wide. Donovan also directs strategy and policy development, risk management, weapons acquisition, technology investments and human resource management across a global enterprise. Additionally, he is responsible for implementing decisions of the president, Congress and fulfilling combatant commanders’ current and future operational requirements.

“I’m honored and humbled to be

given this opportunity,” Donovan said.

“It’s a dream come true.”

After five years as an enlistee, Donovan received his commission in the Air Force in 1982, through the Air Force Officer Training School. During his 31 years on active duty, he was a command pilot with more than 2,900 flying hours in the F-15C Eagle and F-5E Tiger, and served in combat during Operation Southern Watch.

Prior to becoming the USecAF, Donovan served as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee professional staff where he was advisor to the chairman of the committee.

Even with these accomplishments, he was honored to take his newest oath of office.

“I have either administered or recited that oath many, many times over the course of my career, and the gravity and impact of the words still don’t ever fail to inspire me,” Donovan said. “When you think about the hundreds of thousands of officer, enlisted and civilian Airmen who are at this very moment–all around the world–either deterring our enemies or fighting and winning our nation’s wars, it’s all about them. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this. I look forward to helping Secretary Wilson and (Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein) meet their goals, and to ensuring we sustain the world’s greatest air, space and cyberspace force.”

Donovan was confirmed as the USecAF Aug. 1, 2017, and administratively sworn in Aug. 3, 2017.

Crime rates are generally higher during the summer months and have begun to increase in Hunt Housing.

Suspects have been targeting unlocked vehicles. The 633rd SFS has increased patrols in the area, but needs the assistance of all residents to stop the increase in crime. Residents can help by locking their vehicles and storing all valuable items in their vehicles out of view.

JBLE Family Child Care Program

The Joint Base Langley-Eustis Family Child Care Program is looking for child care providers. They are searching for those interested in a professional, portable career that will allow those to stay at home and run a home-based business. The program is available for children ages two weeks to 12 years old. Child care providers must be at least 18 years old, be able to read and speak English, be in good health, and willing to undergo a background check. The FCC will provide training and materials to get your business started.

Fort Eustis’ Groninger Library encourages reading

Fort Eustis’ Groninger Library has implemented an ongoing Reading Program entitled “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” and “1000 Books from 1st -5th grades.” For every 100 books read, children can take their reading log to the library to receive a prize. After reading 1000 books, children will receive a free t-shirt.

U.S. Hospital Langley will host the Joint Commission for a compliance survey from Aug. 14-18, 2017.

The survey will evaluate the organization’s compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. Its results will be used to determine which accreditations should be awarded the organization. Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality, safety-of-care issues, and safety of the environment in which care is provided. Manpower shortage impacts 633rd Medical Group services

The 633rd Medical Group strives to provide Trusted Care to all they serve, while supporting many deployed and home-station missions. Due to contract vacancies and multiple provider deployments/permanent changes of station during the coming months, it will take longer to receive appointments and have messages returned. In light of these staffing concerns, TRICARE will temporarily enroll only Active Duty service members and their family members. This action is being taken to ensure patients receive the care they deserve within the established standards. There will be no enrollment changes or action taken to any patients who are already enrolled at the 633rd Medical Group, regardless of category. For questions regarding TRICARE benefits, or for enrollment assistance to locate the best medical facility to meet healthcare needs, contact the TRICARE Information line at 1-800-TRICARE or 1-800-874-2273.

Trespass Notice

The Langley small arms firing range, adjacent area and the bullet impact area to the rear of the range are off-limits to all personnel.
