The folks at iDab Glass are a group of motivated humans with a vision. Their owner, Shane has been collecting pieces since he was 15 years old and met Terry Phat Ass Glass in Big Bear, which later prompted him to start iDab. Their passion for medicating and making clean glass has kept them in this realm. In the early stages of their craft, Roor and Illadelph were sources of inspiration. While artists like Banjo, Buck, and Joe P have also been inuential with their talent, they credit Bob Snodgrass for making the biggest impact in the glass blowing community by being the industry pioneer. Founded in 2012 in Orange County, California, iDab uses only the highest quality German Schott Glass in each piece that they create. Their crew might be small, but are incredibly experienced and have worked hard to create a space that produces the best quality glass at affordable prices for the people.

Millia PAGE 06

Their vision for the future is to develop reputable glass at all levels for anyone to obtain. They recognize the various economic stages people come from and understand, as they didn't come from a lot either. So whether you have a small or large budget, they aim to provide quality products, no

for anyone to obtain

matter what. Their mission is to guide enthusiasts in a better way to enjoy the finer things in life. Idab was introduced to the community at AGE, but are always present at the best shows, including High Times, Champs, and Glass Vegas. They've attended events from Los Angeles to Miami, from Colombia to Spain. Working with the top distributors, they can be found on the shelves of the finest head shops and smoke shops worldwide. Their catalog features a variety of both heady and scientific functional glass rigs, dropdowns, dabbers, carb caps, pipes, bowls and slides, accessories, apparel, and more. So whether you're a customer with an idea on a custom piece, a company looking for your new best selling glass, or are interested in learning the craft yourself, find them at the next show or visit their website: idabglass.com.

We’re a very dog friendly shop. If you don’t like dogs, we can’t trust you! Our shop dogs’ names are Audi, CiCi, Luna, and Tom. Are there any pieces you have made that you will never sell? Oh yeah, a lot of our early stuff. I’ve bought back pieces from shops just to have in our collection for the future. Those early designs are timeless- skillets and glass nails timeless. Favorite way to consume cannabis? Dabbing no questions. Most effective and cleanest way. If there was one celebrity you most looked up too, past or present, who is it and why? Bob Marley. He was woke as a human for the people. What is the weirdest thing you have made or seen made out of boro? Dildo or a window for a hose in a car so you can see when the fluid was dirty. How many times have you burned? In total we have hundreds of burns… and counting. Don’t jinx us! If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 things would you take with you? Dab rig, seeds, and partner.

Born out of the frustration of traditional bongs, which were too difficult to clean, too big to carry around, and have a fixed singular design, VITAE Glass was created to solve the headaches that bong users face regularly. Being modular in design with wooden accents for that added touch of class, these easily customizable pieces were crafted with cleaning in mind and are quite possibly the most user-friendly and innovative glass to date. VITAE is a Latin word meaning LIFE. The name came at a time when CEO Gordon Loi was feeling enlightened through the use of medicinal marijuana and thought it a perfect fit for the glass as these pieces certainly give their users just that, LIFE. He was on the hunt for a name that's not frequently used in the English vocabulary, and after translating several languages, the Latin version leaped out to him.

But creation does not come without challenges.

Gordon Loi was Chinese born, grew up in South Africa, and studied in San Francisco; however, due to immigration issues, he was denied entry into the US right before the company launch on 4/20/2019. Until his immigration status can be changed, Co-founder Martin Ng has taken charge of everything in San Francisco while Loi and another partner manage the manufacturing side of production abroad. This can be difficult at times, but the trio does what they can to make it all work. Initially designed and engineered in San Francisco, the pieces are now made in China by a small group of artists who were trained by the US Tubes founder and master glassblower himself.

The products are produced under his guidance to meet quality standards, including hammer and drop tests. Rather than saving money by switching to a larger facility, they decided to stick with their small team on the virtue of maintaining quality over quantity. But their remarkability doesn’t stop there. With each purchase of VITAE glass, a donation is made to One Tree Planted in an effort to create a more sustainable and greener future. Being environmentally conscious himself, Mr. Loi wanted the company to represent its name. He considered many charitable organizations, but the one thing that he felt everyone on earth could benefit from was counterbalancing the global carbon footprint by planting trees. When asked about this, Gordon stated,

“To me, it's not about how much money you can make but about the good you can do with it.”

These thoughtfully crafted and eco-conscious pieces are sure to make a statement and help breathe life into your home and all of our futures. For more information on these products, visit vitaeglass.com or follow them on Instagram @vitaeglass.

The work of Envy Glass Designs is simply remarkable. Their electroformed pieces are created with a metal forming process called electroplating, hence the name. All of the electroformed items are copper plated and carefully crafted in a variety of patinas; the nature of this process allows for each piece to have its own unique design. Beyond the Electroform catalog, Envy also produces Heady Glass as well as Scientific Glass. With only the highest quality borosilicate, the Scientific selection offers unmatched durability and a pure smoking experience due to advanced filtration methods. Various percs, chambers, styles, welds, and sizes maximize the functionality of each piece. While Envy's Scientific Glass "evokes a laboratory feel that is all about precision" their Heady Glass selection encompasses self-expression by the artist in a one of a kind experience. These bold and daring designs are exquisitely unique, and you will never find another just like it in the world.

All Envy products are made in a workshop in Southern California using only the highest quality Boro Schott Glass. They take pride in their work, as they should, and guarantee satisfaction in their craftsmanship.

THIS ISN’T JUST YOUR AVERAGE GLASSWARE.

For starters, it is not easy to come by unless someone you know has a press, but even then, it takes skill to create a quality product. Most importantly, it takes good material: quality in, quality out. What makes it so different is that it's produced without the use of solvents. Instead of saturating the flower and using a chemical to remove cannabinoids, rosin uses heat and pressure to perform the extraction process. There are two major types of rosin, flower, and hash. With flower rosin, flower buds are prepared and pressed using heated plates. The heat and pressure cause the oils in the bud to be pushed out, extracting the cannabinoids and essential oils. This produces a much more vibrant and complex profile in the concentrate, which results in more essential oils, terpenes, and flavonoids. The resulting product can be all sorts of consistencies from a waxy, buttery paste to a watery oil. Much of the final product depends on the quality of the starting material and directly affects the end result. Pressing freshly frozen buds will create a much more fluid and liquid product; this can then be further processed into solventless diamonds using rosin jar tek. Pressing dried and cured flowers will produce a lovely oil that can budder up immediately or with some time or agitation. With rosin you have a ton of variables, all of which play vital roles in the final product. Millia PAGE 52

Now, Hash Rosin is very similar to flower rosin. It is still solventless, but to procure your start material, you will first separate your resin glands from the flower either by dry sifting your buds or by making ice water hash. You would then take your isolated resin glands and press them as you would with flower but generally at lower temperatures than you would press flower rosin. The resulting end product is usually a very buttery concentrate and one of my personal favorites.

Resin production is an art and a skill. It all spawned from people using hair straighteners to squish nugs. They would stand on the straighteners and use hand clamps as the art progressed. Eventually, machine presses started being used, and then commercial options came to the market. Presses, like The Sasquatch and Team Rosin, are capable of producing rosin on an industrial scale. Hand presses, like the Canna Clamp, have made it possible for anyone to try their hand at this craft. Rosin is relatively safe to produce, so anyone can experiment or take their home grow and safely make some delicious concentrates without the risk of blowing up the neighborhood. If you get the itch to try it for yourself, I highly recommend looking into it. The process can be fun, and the finished product can be some of the best concentrates you have ever tasted.

TECH BOOM GREEN RUSH By C. Cimone Casson | Cannas Capital www.ccimonecasson.com

Could the Weed Industry Be the Next Dot-Com Bubble? From 1995 to 2000, internet-based companies experienced extreme growth. Due to this rapid growth, a large number of Tech Companies chose to go public and be traded on the stock exchange. Companies that we have forgotten about, like Pet.com, Webvan.com, and Boo.com, totally failed and shut down during the dot-com crash of 2000. So, how did this happen? Well, from 1990 to 1997 the percentage of computers in U.S. Households grew from 15% to 35%, making home computers a necessity and not just a luxury. As a result of this, many investors were eager to invest in Tech Stocks. Going to the stock market had become a trend in the Tech Industry. At the height of the boom, it was possible for a promising dot-com company to become a public company via an IPO and raise a substantial amount of money even if it had never made a profit—or, in some cases, realized any material revenue. During the 1990s, many companies saw the advantages of getting rid of brick-and-mortar business models and adopting an internet presence. In theory, this was an excellent idea, but most dot-com companies incurred net operating losses, as they spent heavily on advertising and promotions to harness network effects to build market share or mind share as fast as possible, using the mottos "get big fast" and "get large or get lost." These companies offered their services or products for free or at a discount, with the expectation that they could build enough brand awareness to charge profitable rates for their services in the future. In January 2000, there were sixteen dot-com commercials during Super Bowl XXXIV, each costing $2 million for a thirty-second spot. A series of similar events led to the downturn of the industry in March of 2000. Unfortunately, many naysayers are comparing the tech bubble to the green rush.

Millia PAGE 56

The "Green Rush" is a term used to describe the growing marijuana industry within the United States as well as Canada. This applies to the growth and spread of dispensaries, the increasing sales of smoking accessories, and things outside the world of cannabis culture, like marijuana-related stocks and bonds, as well as business convergences. Marijuana companies have been listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange since 2014. This has become a growing trend for cannabis companies, regardless of whether they were profitable, just like the tech industry in the '90s. The key to investing in the "green rush" is to learn from our mistakes. As we look to take advantage of the emerging but volatile industry, the key is to invest in companies with a proven track record of profitability, expansion endeavors that reflect the opportunities of the market, and favorable operating expenses. Many marijuana companies are penny stocks and have offered very little growth since entering the stock market. Unless these companies reflect your true risk tolerance, I would suggest staying clear of them and invest in stronger companies that may end up dominating the industry in the future.

By implementing strategies to create a path to successful investing, we can minimize our risk, reduce our cost, and maximize our returns. Children ten years old or younger will never know life without cannabis and its benefits, which means more end users. Furthermore, technology will make growing, manufacturing, and disturbing easier and more cost-effective, which cuts expenses. Meanwhile, inflation continues to increase the price of marijuana, which can increase earnings and profit margins.

So How Much Should You Invest? Well, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. In my courses, we always end our first session with a "Risk Appetite" Test. This test consists of questions to uncover your Risk Tolerance, Risk Capital, and Risk Aversion. The important thing is that you start as soon as possible and make it a habit. When I was first starting in "Pot Stocks" in 2015, I started with less than $1000.00 ($980.00 to be exact). I know this doesn't sound like much, but I was able to turn this portfolio into $20,000.00. The long-term impact should be even more significant.

Basic Assets To Invest In The "Green Rush" This is a growing market, and asset classes are still being developed, but here are a few that you can invest in now. Stocks– Also known as equities, stocks represent partial ownership of one or more companies in the cannabis or cannabis-related industry. Mutual Funds or ETFs– Mutual funds and exchange-traded funds pool money from many investors and then invest it in an assortment of stocks, bonds, or other investments. Real Estate Investment Trust- REITs is a company that owns, and in most cases operates, income-producing real estate in the cannabis space.

Millia PAGE 58

Cryptocurrency– Crypto Coins that have been created to focus on the market servicing directly in the marijuana market. We have to remember that out of all the assets, stocks offer the most appreciation, but also the most risk.

Should you Trade or Invest? You must understand the difference between trading and investing. Trading is the act of buying and selling assets to create an income. Investing is the act of buying and selling assets for long term appreciation.

With that in mind, there are certain types of stocks that make excellent short- term and long-term investments. In our Core Strategy Course, I teach you how to do both trading and investing in the "Green Rush" and create a strategy to minimize your cost, minimize your risk, and maximize your return!!!

How to Get Started? After you have learned the basics, and you have taken my courses to create a strategy, the next step is to open a brokerage account. Now, with God and Google, we can open brokerage on our smartphone or computer in minutes. New investors want a brokerage that offers access to investment research and educational features to help with stock selection and to answer any questions you might have along the way. The War on Drugs, which President Nixon announced back in June of 1971, has come under considerable scrutiny as of late. The vast majority of citizens feel that, as a whole, we have been waging war against the common man, and it's a battle none can win. The fact of the matter is, prohibition never works. We've seen this throughout history. So when the House Judiciary Committee approved the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, we saw modern history being made. It marked the ďŹ rst time a congressional committee has approved a marijuana legalization bill. But what does the MORE Act do? The MORE Act would decriminalize cannabis at the federal level and remove it from the list of federally controlled substances. Considering medicinal marijuana is legal in 33 states and recreational use legal in 11, most agree that this legislation, which would allow states to set their own policies, is long overdue. Beyond giving states the power to rule as they see ďŹ t regarding cannabis, the bill would also require federal courts to expunge prior marijuana convictions while also giving states incentives to expunge the criminal records of those with marijuana offenses. Several proposals for more research on the demographic characteristics of people convicted of federal marijuana offenses, as well as the racial disparities in prohibition enforcement for communities targeted by the War on Drugs, were put forth and approved during this hearing. Millia PAGE 62

Not only is the MORE Act set to correct some of these injustices, but it will also provide funding for community programs to help those who have been negatively impacted by imposing a 5% tax on all marijuana products. "For far too long, we have treated marijuana as a

criminal justice problem instead of a matter of

personal choice and public health. Whatever one's views on the use of marijuana for recreational or medicinal purposes, arresting, prosecuting, and

incarcerating users at the federal level is unwise and unjust," stated House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler. Along with social justice, it would also allow physicians afďŹ liated with the Veterans Administration to authorize medical marijuana to qualifying veterans who reside in legal states. As of right now, these physicians are permitted to discuss marijuana use, but they are prohibited from recommending it to their patients. Finally, the MORE Act would allow the Small Business Administration to support entrepreneurs and businesses in this growing industry. With nearly three-quarters of Americans believing marijuana should be legal, there has been growing bipartisan support; however, the MORE Act still faces many challenges before it becomes law. If you would like to help support this legislation, we recommend you contact your local lawmakers and representatives to urge their support. For more information on how to accomplish this, head over to NORML.org.

Father- Friend- Protector

Cooking style: It's like his ancestry.com test results: a little bit of everything from around the world, with a dominant Caribbean f lare.

Quick hit: "From a young age, I was always hanging out in the kitchen, paying attention as the food was being prepared. My parents opened a small restaurant, and my interest in food kept expanding. In my teen years, I was cooking for friends and experimenting in the kitchen. I enrolled in the Art Institute in Chicago for Culinary Arts. In college, I helped open a restaurant with a few other students. Between that and doing events with high-profile chefs around the city, I built a militant work ethic. Once out of school, I ran a couple of restaurants before moving to the US Virgin Islands. Having access to so many fresh ingredients, I really started focusing on the healthier cuisine options as my standard."

Cannabis Connection: Nigel was born with Cerebral Palsy, a neurological condition that affects muscle control and movement. "I felt like a medical guinea pig from an early age. It seemed like every treatment option was an experiment, especially when it came to pain. In my teen years, I started consuming cannabis and understood its ability to relieve pain. I quickly became an avid user. Now I'm able to reach and educate through cannabis-infused cooking. I know I'm in the right place: helping, healing, and bringing people together with food." Food for thought: "The world should evolve around us, not revolve around us."

“The Hitalian Chef” Mother - Wife - Healer - Poet Cooking style: Hawaiian, Italian, and classic comfort food all rolled into one.

Quick hit: "I spent most of my life in Hawaii, and I still consider it home. I watched my grandma and great-grandma cooking a lot–that's how they looked after me–in the kitchen. Now, having to feed my own babies, I started to look at food completely different. And I wanted to make sure I was feeding them and me healthy nutritious food. I've been blessed growing up in such exotic places being able to eat at such amazing restaurants. I love bringing my Hawaiian and Italian inf luence to people here in Michigan."

Cannabis Connection: A life of chronic health problems led her to cannabis as a solution to her pain and addiction to opioids. "My connection to cannabis is huge; it's the ONLY thing in my life medication-wise, that has EVER helped me. Everything else hurt me more, but cannabis made me feel like there was hope, P.S.: "The reason I feel so strongly about giving back to the homeless is that I want to be the person that hands a warm, delicious meal to someone that would never be able to afford it. A good meal gives you hope. It warms your belly and makes you feel like, even if just for a few minutes that everything IS going to be okay."

In 2008, Dan traveled from his home in New York to sunny California, regularly putting the foundation in place for what eventually became The Budfather. "I started to see some trends and legislature all over the country, and I knew that I could develop framework for a brand. So I started aligning myself with like-minded people and built relationships that turned out great and dominoed from there. Working with a couple different people in the field as far as distributors, engineers, architects‌ trying to develop a good foundation that sticks around and makes it a viable career for my family." The Budfather branding has that classic old school NY mobster look. He chose this image not only because of his NY roots. But because of the dedication to the family mentality it represents. "To me, it was more about not just being in the cannabis industry but being in the "cannabis business." So I knew it was going to take a while to develop relationships, especially out here in 2008." "I knew that would be the most challenging part. And it has been" Filtering through a plethora of various opportunities and relationships to identify and pursue those that shared the same vision, paid off. A few years ago, Dan was able to move his wife and two sons to California full time. "We wanted to make sure that we were their biggest positive influences." Creating this new cannabis family on the west coast isn't without its struggles. Now that his wife and kids are with him, the time spent away from the rest of the family in New York takes its toll. "Well, first of all, I took the grandkids away," he says with a laugh. I expect he gets the same "reminders" my mom gives me since my own family moved away from home. "It’s a burden I feel for sure," even now, in his continued success. He believes the decision to do so, however, not only allows he and his wife the opportunity to be more present in their boys' lives. But also to show them the value of creating a life that is authentic to your true self, despite challenges.

The cannabis industry is bursting with anticipation for what is on the horizon. Dan and his colleagues are poised to capture the full momentum of the future.

TAINTED LOVE: The

Contaminated Cartridge Crisis

WRITTEN BY BEVERLY MARTIN

IT’S THE BUBONIC PLAGUE OF THE CANNABIS SCENE. Tainted THC cartridges, or "carts," have somehow been infiltrating the market, making their way into consumers' hands, homes, and lungs. They can cause acute illness, irreversible damage, or even death. Medical providers are often at a loss as to how to treat the illnesses they cause. Legislators lack the understanding necessary to protect their constituencies. And if law enforcement got involved, they'd be more likely to arrest the victims than help them. So it falls to us, as consumers, to be watchful and protect ourselves from harmful products. But where do they come from?

IT ALL STARTS IN SHENZEN, CHINA. Hundreds of grim factories dot the landscape, churning out mass quantities of, well, anything. Often staffed by a few impoverished workers, these factories operate at a subsistence level. They can't afford to be picky; they'll do anything for a few cents. Yes, I said cents- a quick google search turns up a variety of online retailers offering empty cartridges for less than a dollar. Under such conditions, it's hardly surprising that the cartridges can contain traces of lead, butane, and pesticides.

You can't expect destitute, uneducated factory workers to run the kind of quality assurance testing that reputable brands in developed nations have established as standard practice.

THESE WORKERS SHIP THE CARTRIDGES, OFTEN DISGUISED AS LEGITIMATE BRANDS, COMPLETE WITH COUNTERFEIT PACKAGING, ACROSS THE OCEAN TO LOS ANGELES.

From there, they might be mailed directly to the consumer. More often, however, they're passed on to one of many brokers in the area specializing in low-quality imported goods. These brokers make it possible for unscrupulous street dealers to purchase stock with cash, avoiding the electronic paper trail left by digital transactions. Paper trails, of course, are the backbone of any reputable business. If you're concerned about the well-being of your customers, you're gonna keep track of where your product comes from, so that in case there's a problem, you can escalate it to the wholesaler. That's exactly what these brokers and their clients don't want. They know there's lead in their carts. They know there are toxic additives in their diluents, like the infamous Vitamin E we've all heard stories about, among others. An estimated 65% of illicit street cartridges are diluted with Vitamin E.

From there, they make their way across the country. The empty cartridges, the toxic diluents, and the fake packaging are all more or less legal until the THC is added, so they can pass freely through state lines, into the hands of local dealers, and then, downstream to you, the consumer, for a fraction of the cost of.

SO WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO ABOUT IT? FIRST OF ALL, THROW OUT ALL YOUR CARTRIDGES. UNLESS IT CAME FROM A LICENSED, REGULATED DISPENSARY, THROW IT AWAY. As far as we know, it's more likely to be tainted than it is to be safe. Second of all, don't accept pens from other people. Like open drinks at a party, if you don't know where it came from, don't trust it.

Millia PAGE 84

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF LEGALIZATION FOR SAFE, LEGITIMATE, REGULATED THC PRODUCTS NATIONWIDE. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but when a legitimate industry is criminalized, the black market steps up to take its place. This isn't an individual-level issue, it's an industry-level problem, and only an industry-level solution is going to keep everyone safe. Millia PAGE 85
