This one-woman play explores the life and work of Hedy Lamarr, a Viennese-born Hollywood film star of the 1930s-1950s known as The Most Beautiful Woman in the World. Lamarr learned about munitions while married to Austrian arms dealer Fritz Mandl and employed this knowledge to support the U.S. Navy’s war effort during WWII. She invented, with composer George Antheil, a system to make torpedoes more accurate. This frequencyhopping spread spectrum technology is used today in cell phones, Wi-Fi, CDMA, GPS, Bluetooth and other wireless systems.
