Peace of mind for the Veterinary Professional: We offer friendly customer service, support and education along with innovative high-quality products that achieve outstanding results and meet the diverse needs of today’s veterinary practices.
Our knowledge and experience makes us a leading manufacturer of veterinary specific products. We have a team of knowledgeable Sales Executives and qualified
Veterinary Nurses who’ll be more than happy to help and answer any questions you may have.
Millpledge has a strong commitment to reduce the effect our business (and that of our supply chain) has on the environment. The ongoing and future development of our products and services, as well as how we deliver to our customers also plays a fundamental part in ensuring that our environmental impact is minimal.
Founded by Derek Carthew and Graham Cheslyn-Curtis, Millpledge began life as Millpledge Pharmaceuticals. Derek Carthew (known as ‘Slim’) was a qualified pharmacist and development chemist formerly at Pfizer and one of the first UK sales managers for Cox Pharmaceuticals. He established the company that would become known as Millpledge Pharmaceuticals.
Whilst working for Cox he had met and formed a good working relationship with Graham Cheslyn-Curtis who was a sales executive for Cox. Slim knew that Graham would make the ideal partner for this new company.
Graham’s grandfather’s family business was sold to Cox Pharmaceuticals and Brian, Graham’s father was kept on to run the south of England territory for Cox. Graham joined Cox and became a third-generation pharmaceutical territory manager.
Graham’s inventiveness was no fluke; his great grandfather developed one of the first-ever toothpastes supplied to the Royal Family and to the Pope in the office of the time.
As the veterinary world evolved, so did Millpledge, adding depth and variety to our product range to meets the diverse needs of our customers. We later became Millpledge Veterinary and the company we know today.
We are now an international manufacturer of veterinary consumables, disposables, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals, serving over 60,000 veterinary practices worldwide.

Padding:
Protects bony prominences, preventing excoriation and pressure sores. Good absorbent properties - Excellent quality.
Orthoband™: Synthetic padding on a roll providing even consistency and thickness giving a more even surface overall.
Cotton wool:
Good absorbent properties.

Non-fray, with fast edges, resistant to tearing and ‘stringing’: Reduces risks of ‘catching’ or impeding circulation.
Knit-Fix™ & Knit-Firm™ bandages are Individually wrapped: Reducing the risk of contamination.
It is advisable to always use a true conforming bandage – one that can be stretched to maximum, released and then remain in much the same condition as the original bandage, without allowing holes to be poked through it. It will have the ability to contour easily yet allow for essential movement. Conforming bandages do however have some content of elastic, so it is essential not to apply too tightly, as this may interfere with circulation. If sufficient padding has been applied it should eliminate the possibility of bandaging too tightly and will be well tolerated by the patient.
With a true conforming bandage such as Knit-Fix™ digits cannot penetrate the second layer bandage (as above). If you choose a bandage that can be torn, allowing a digit to poke through, you could end up with a worst case than the one you started with.
An animal will be more comfortable if the correct method and bandage materials are used and this can make a significant difference to the end result. The patient will be encouraged to eat and drink, therefore urinate and defecate normally, which will enhance the healing process.

Use a very small amount of soap on gloves to prevent the Vetglas from sticking to your gloves
1. Apply any wound dressings necessary and then the padding and bandage in the usual manner, ensuring that any bony protuberances and areas adjacent to the cast edges are given extra protection to avoid pressure sores. Be sure that the entire cast area is covered.
2. Wear gloves to prevent hands coming into contact with uncured polymer.
3. Select the appropriate size of tape and open the pouch. Do not open more than one pouch at a time.
4. Immerse the roll in 21 – 23°C water and squeeze lightly 3-4 times. Do not squeeze the roll after it has been removed from the water. Cooler water temperatures and not squeezing at all lengthen the setting time.
5. A length of old tubing from an IV. Fluid Set with pliable wire inside, laid along the length of the area to be cast will facilitate removal of the cast at a later stage. Do not apply too tightly.
6. Firmly blot the cast to ensure maximum bonding. Moulding of the cast is best accomplished when the material is beginning to solidify. Thirty to sixty seconds of continuous moulding will give the best end result.

Using the Aniset Anti-Kink® UV whilst administering light sensitive liquid medications reduces the risk of molecule crystallisation and drug photodegradation via an IV. Aniset Anti-Kink® UV tubing, Needle-Free injection sites, Drip Chamber, extension and connecting components. This provides a protective refractive barrier to light, maintaining drug potency and limpidity, and reducing the potential harmful effects that light has on drugs administered via transparent, pellucid IV sets.
All Colloids are photosensitive. (Gelatins, Dextrans & Hydroxethyl Starches (HES).
To help, see the list to the right of this text to identify fluids that are also photosensitive.
Always check drug label and alternative resources for photosensitive drugs.
The Aniset Anti-Kink® UV range of IV fluid administration sets are equipped with the same high-quality features as our standard NeedleFree sets with the added benefit of the UV protective material throughout the entire length.
Use tubing above the first injection port for infusion pumps.

The next generation of veterinary supraglottic airway devices
Widely used in human medicine, a SGAD is an alternative to an endotracheal tube, used to supply anaesthetic gases and/or oxygen to anaesthetised patients. Designed to sit in the pharynx, they avoid many of the problems caused by ET tubes such as laryngeal/tracheal trauma and airway resistance. They are also quick and easy to place and are useful for emergency resuscitation. v-gel® are the first veterinary species-specific SGADs, currently used all over the world in dogs, cats and rabbits.
Each dog v-gel® unit comes with a free gastric tube.
• Gastric channel – With insertion of oesophageal or gastric tube, allows for greater protection and management of reflux/regurgitation and aspiration.
• Single use – Human medicine standards of hygiene.
• Anatomical matching features combined with a soft material to give a high quality pressure seal.
• Perfectly suited to ventilated as well as spontaneously breathing patients.
• Avoids laryngeal and tracheal trauma, which means safer anaesthetics and superb comfortable patient recoveries.
• Fast, easy, safe and stress-free insertions.
• No post-operating coughing or gagging.
• Low airway breathing resistance due to the large airway channel within the device.
• High quality pressure seal restricting leakage of volatile anaesthetic agents, thus improving health and safety for staff.
• Suitable for a variety of patients including brachycephalics, and procedures including dentals.
v-gel® advanced devices are suitable for a wide variety of procedures, including dental procedures.
Gastric channel egress – Emerges beyond oesophageal seal, protecting pharynx from reflux/regurgitation. Key
Gastric channel ingress – Insert gastric tube to enable detection and treatment of reflux/regurgitation.
Standard connector – For connection to circuit or via capnograph.
Ridges – Enable device to be safely tied in place (to back of head).
Shoulders – To sit device snugly in place. Bowl fits around larynx.
Reflux/regurgitation in dogs during anaesthesia:
• Reflux and regurgitation during anaesthesia is much more common than many people think as they are not seeing it!
• Reflux – 16 – 55% (Raptoulos and Galatos 1997).
• Regurgitation – 6 – 15% (Wilson et al. 2006).
Consequences of reflux regurgitation can be:
• Mild – oesophagitis in recovery period
• Severe – oesophageal stricture, aspiration pneumonia.
• Gastric channel in v-gel® can be used both to detect and treat (by flushing) reflux/regurgitation.

This table is intended to be a guide only. The correct size v-gel® advanced will be determined by the size and shape of a dog’s pharynx, which varies depending on the breed, size and head and neck shape of the dog.
Step 1 - Look on the chart and choose one of the three head shapes, appropriate for the patient you are dealing with.
Step 2 - Choose the ideal body weight, which are shown in the right hand column for each type of head shape.
Step 3 - Follow this along to the far right hand side of the entire chart where the appropriate size v-gel is shown in the pink column.
E.g. a 14kg Mesocephalic breed will require a D5 v-gel.

Adhesive bandage, tape and island dressing remover. Available in 50mL and 200mL CFC-Free spray cans. An innovative combination of safe, non-toxic, nonstinging siloxanes formulated to destabilise adhesive. Can be used on: Adhesive Bandages, Adhesive Tapes, Island Dressings, Opiate Patches, Glue Traps.
Eaze-Off® temporarily denatures the tack/adhesive properties of the glues used on high tack fixation, support, and compression bandages, allowing easy and painless removal of the bandage or dressing and minimising trauma to the healing process and the animal.
The tack of the glue is only temporarily suspended as Eaze-Off® completely evaporates, leaving no residue or film barrier preventing the re-adhesion of the next dressing or new appliance to the animal.
When using on seriously fractious animals, spray Eaze-Off® directly into the lid away from the patient and then pour over target area
Eaze-Off® is harmless to the animal as it completely evaporates.
Once evaporated from the bandage/dressing, Eaze-Off® becomes inactive and must be re-applied.
Sterile, High Performance and Conforming Waterproof Disposable Drape. Anti-glare, soft blue colour ultra-conforming surgical drape, includes a waterproof backing. Keeps the patient dry in longer surgical procedures and more demanding situations maintaining highly effective barrier levels. Either side of drape can be donned to the patient.

Dermafuse® Tissue Adhesive is an n-butyl cyanoacrylate medical adhesive used to bond tissue together following veterinary procedures (i.e. lacerations, abrasions, suture/staple line sealing, tooth extractions, oral surgeries, spaying/neutering and dewclaw removal).
Product contains blue dye to allow user to easily see where product has been applied.
On contact with body tissue, Dermafuse® changes from liquid to solid state by polymerising within seconds to seal the wound. The adhesive stops minor bleeding and binds wound edges. Each 3g bottle contains approximately 175 drops.
Use for:
• Tooth extractions.
• Oral surgeries.
• Spaying/neutering.
• Dewclaw removal.
Caution:
• Lacerations.
• Abrasions.
• Suture/staple, Line sealing.
Do not allow Dermafuse® Tissue Adhesive to drip into the cavity. Any residual tissue adhesive below the closure site can cause foreign body reactions. Do not glue hair into site.
Storage:
Product can be refrigerated or frozen to extend shelf life before opening. Store bottle upright on shelf in a cool, dry place away from heat. After opening, DO NOT RETURN BOTTLE TO REFRIGERATOR.
Built in spike to prevent occlusion of bottle tip.
Haemostem™ is made by degrading a suitable form of plant cell wall cellulose by chemical oxidation, and neutralisation to the calcium salt, with depolymerisation by irradiation. The resulting pale yellow-cream to buff coloured powder is composed of microfibres of about 10 micron diameter and 100 micron in length. Containing by weight between 10 to 18% of carboxyl group and 4 to 8% calcium respectively with reference to dried substance. The suitable form of cellulose used is that prepared from the micronised fine seed coat fibres of the Cotton plant, Gossypium hirsutum, and other cultivated species of Gossypium.
Haemostem™ is used for the control of bleeding, as capillary haemorrhaging, and serum exudating from damaged tissue wherever conventional
methods of local haemostasis is difficult or impractical.
Haemostem™ is totally natural and 100% plant derived Polyanhydroglucuronic Acid.
Surface haemostasis is achieved initially by the physical nature of the microfibres forming a mesh or mat absorbing and entrapping blood cells and platelets followed by enhanced haemocoagulation essentially due to the ‘surface effect’ of the calcium salt quickly and readily activating the blood clotting processes. The gel formation maintains an optimal level of thrombocytes at the site aiding haemostasis.
Haemostem™ is not suitable for the control of arterial or venous pressure bleeding where appropriate prior ‘tying off’ or cautery of blood vessels must be carried out.
It may be used to control small arteriolar or venous bleeding in combination with application of short time digital pressure.
Easy insertion Can be sutured in place
Haemostem ™ Dental Cubes containing carboxycellulose. Easy insertion into tooth sockets to control protracted postextractional capillary bleeding. Each cube contains 135mg of micronised modified carboxycellulose with 25mg methycellulose and 40mg modified starch which acts as gelling and disintergrant agents. Haemostem ™ offers highly effective antimicrobial effects which may aid the healing process.
PRESENTATION: Sterile strip of five cubes.
DIRECTIONS: Blot and dry as much of the gum area as possible with a gauze swab. Place the Haemostem ™ Dental Cube directly on or into the tooth socket. Since the cube is readily absorbed by the body between 8 to 14 days it can be sutured in place as there is no need for it to be removed. Haemostem ™ should not be dowsed with sterile water prior to insertion or application.
Haemostatic Gauze, is a delicately woven, thin, fragile pad of modified carboxycellulose fibres. Can be sutured or layered onto wound surfaces of soft tissues and internal organs.
For wrapping around anastimoses such as those of arterial and venous vessels and the digestive tract, or liver biopsies. Do not use as a packing material.
DIRECTIONS: Open the outer peel pouch, followed by the sterile inner pouch. Can be cut to size as required. Use sparingly. Only one layer is normally required for wound surface application. Completely absorbed within 8 to 14 days.
A free rotating roll of adhesive paper tape. Easy to peel off sheets to expose new ready-to-use clean surfaces. Mounted on a black plastic hub and handle. Removes animal fur and hair from clothes, fabrics and furniture.
• For use in the surgery - Use on scrubs or directly to the patient after clipping.
Bio-degradable, highly absorbent fibre and gel filled pad.
Dentapads help absorb dental exudates keeping the animal drier and cleaner during dental procedures. The convenient one size60cm x 60cm is suitable for use with cats and up to the largest of dogs.
Surgical or incontinence underpads of thick, highly absorbent fluffed cellulose filling. Strong porous upper cover is bonded around all edges to the soft, light, waterproof plastic backing. This provides a secure seal to ensure no leakage of fluids. When liquid comes into contact with the surface layer of the pad, it is quickly absorbed into the cellulose filling, thus keeping the patient drier.
Surgical or incontinence underpads of thick, highly absorbent fluffed cellulose filling, with strong porous material upper cover bonded around all edges to a waterproof plastic backing.

Odorcide® 2000 – Ready-to-use spray: For odours arising after accidental soilage and immediate air-borne odours.
Odorcide® 2001– Surgery Concentrate:
For routine washing down, soaking and application to imbedded odour sources. Both solutions are exceptionally safe - non-toxic, non-irritating, nonflammable and non-carcinogenic, as well as being biodegradable and non-staining. For proven and cost-effective activity against odours arising from urine, faeces, hormonal sprays, decayed organic matter, emesis, moulds and mildews imbedded in or on fabrics (carpeting, furnishings, clothing etc), floors, walls and work surfaces. Odorcide® solutions work differently from, and go well beyond the action of available bactericide, enzyme, oxidiser and masking odour treatments. On physical contact, Odorcide® permanently neutralises the odours arising from Amines, Hormones, Organic acids and metabolites, Mercaptans (thiois) Indoles, Skatoles and Phenols.
• Absorption - Physical uptake of the odour substances into the structure of one or more components.
• Bonding (chemisorption) - Components that take up and chemically bind odours to their molecular surfaces.
• Counteraction - Produces pairing odours (Zwaardmaker conjugates) that neutralise smell perception of one another by neutralisation or re-odourising.
Also utilising:
• Inhibitors - To control odours that can be caused by further biological organic decomposition (putrifaction).
• Residuals - These re-activate after initial application to combat and prevent new odours from any new deposits or sources.
Concentrate is ideal to use in the washing machine with bedding to eliminate urinary odours!

Low wetting angle.
Oculeze™ eye drops have a low eye surface contact angle1 which means they spread well across the eye surface.4,5,6
High surface tension to support tear film stability.
Oculeze™ eye drops have high surface tension1. This is due to the ability of polyphenols to form polymeric compounds on the tear film surface.
Together with a low eye surface contact angle, this helps support lubrication and tear film stability.
Reduced friction to soothe irritated eyes.
Oculeze™ eye drops contain glycerine as a key lubricating ingredient and have reduced friction2 compared to nonlipid containing ocular lubricants.7

Malazinc™ has been designed and formulated for use in the ear. It can be used to maintain a normal ear canal environment. Malazinc™ delivers a unique micronutrient blend of topical, safe ingredients that targets the fungus, bacteria and odour. The solution breaks down the fungus and bacteria utilising Boric acid, Taurine, L-lysine and Zinc which prevents bacteria and yeast from thriving whilst assisting the body in providing the healthy building blocks for returning normal condition. Micronutrients are suspended and delivered at a pH of 4.5 creating a prohibitive environment for the fungus and bacteria to develop.
• Natural formula.
• Non-staining, not oily or greasy.
• Eliminates odour causing bacteria.
• Reduces wax.
• Maintains normal ear canal and epithelium condition.
• Antibacterial & Antifungal.
• Soothes and comforts irritation.

Excess fluid can be removed using absorbent swabs.
Malazinc™ is highly effective, tried and tested solution and very easy to use.

“I have used Malazinc™ ear drops for many patients, mostly for dogs but on cats as well. I have had great success in using it for both otitis externa and media (middle ear) assessed using the PSPP system (Primary, Secondary, Predisposing and Perpetuating causes) with allergy as the primary cause and Malassezia as the secondary cause. The product can be sold over the counter and I can add steroids and / or antibiotics to the bottle if required.
I do not have to clean the ears prior to use. Having used the product for some time, I see results often by the next visit and certainly within 2 to 4 weeks of use. I also use it frequently for patients that have experienced a recurrence of signs, successfully. Initial treatment is once to twice daily, reducing down, perhaps to as little as weekly, to maintain and prevent recurrence of signs. I would definitely use this product again and would recommend it to all veterinarians.”

The following testimonial comes from Yvette Greasley who has extensive knowledge on the care and welfare of Guinea pigs and has used Vet Sect Repel™ on a regular basis.
“I have used the product before when running a guinea pig rescue centre and it is also recommended as a preventative and safe one for guinea pigs by the Cambridge Cavy Trust.
I have never had any adverse events in any pig, even young ones aged 8 weeks, or pregnant sows with Vet Sect Repel™
After use, the skin is free from any scurf and looks smooth and clean.
I feel reassured that if the babies were asymptomatic but carrying fungal spores on their coats that the shampoo removed these spores so that they will not pose an outbreak threat in the future, nor contaminate a clean environment.
There has been no sign of the adult lice since the first bath, so either they were washed off during the shampooing and flushed away with the rinse water, or they were killed whilst the shampoo was left on the body for 5 minutes before being rinsed off. I have not found any more since the baby guinea pigs had a second shampoo 7 days later, nor any evidence of lice larvae or eggs.
Vet-Sect Repel™ is excellent. An ideal option to help prevent problems developing, without the risk of causing adverse reactions in guinea pigs, which have very delicate skin and systems and are unable to tolerate many medications or treatments. It is a very valuable standby which should be in every GP owners first aid kit. It is also very useful for periodical and occasional bathing purposes. Plus it is safe for the owners when using / applying the product to their pet(s).”

A concentrated source of Probiotic and targeted Prebiotic powder to maintain normal intestinal gut health and immune function by re-colonising gut flora.
Promodulate™ Equine also contains a source of electrolytes to supplement lower levels caused during times of stress, poor stool conditions and intestinal upset.
It contains the approved saccharomyces cerevisiae at a concentration of 2.2 x 1011 CFU/kg. saccharomyces cerevisiae is aided in its growth by the complementary and indigestible sugar fructooligosaccharide (FOS), which isn’t broken down in the stomach by stomach acid or enzymes and therefore remains bio available to the probiotic in the small intestine. It also provides a source of Sodium and Potassium Chloride, salts to help replace those lost during digestive tract upset and stress related conditions including sweating.
When to use:
• Sudden change in diet.
• During medication including antibiotic therapy and worming.
• Horses fed on high starch: low fibre diets.
• Following dental work or horses with impaired dental function.
• Periods of weight loss.
• Competition and travelling.
• Horses grazing spring pasture and those prone to laminitis.
• Safe for long-term use as a complementary gut balancer.
• Maintains normal gut function and intestinal health.

A concentrated source of probiotic & targeted prebiotic to help maintain normal gut function in Dogs & Cats. Also contains a source of essential electrolyte salts and vitamin complex. Contains a source of viable, naturally occurring micro-organisms.
Dogs and cats are faced with ever changing environments such as moving home, travelling, injury, illnesses and medical treatment. Over the years animals establish routines and habits including dietary, which if disrupted contributes to an imbalance in gut flora, fluid and electrolyte balance and the ability to maintain normal gut mobility and general health. With this the loss of essential electrolytes, Promodulate™ contains a measured source of electrolytes that can assist in maintaining the isotonic fluid balance and electrolyte level.
• For dogs and cats with temporary or chronic digestive tract upset.
• A highly palatable and effective microflora gut balancer.
• Approved Probiotic Enterococcus faecium SF68 NCIMB 10415.
• Vitamin & Electrolyte replacement to combat losses during digestive tract upset.

Norm-Prozorb™ provides:
Montmorillonite is a naturally occurring tri-lamellar smectite clay powder with superior coverage and absorptive properties to that of traditional Kaolin, which together with plant derived powdered charcoal acts as a protectant, coating the inside of intestinal tract and absorbing irritant agents and toxins.
The addition of electrolytes (sodium chloride & proprionate with potassium & magnesium chlorides) partly compensates for electrolyte loss, and so supports the normal fluid balance during the losses that occur with gut disturbances. Dextrose and sorbitol provide different immediate energy sources to minimise deficits in animals that are not eating during digestive tract upsets.
The Probiotic is a lactic acid bacterial culture of live strains of Enterococcus Faecium, at a concentration of 100 x 1,000,000 CFU organisms per g. in order to recolonise the gut and suppressing growth of potential pathogenic bacteria.
Carob Flour and Guar Gum are natural vegetable derived thickening agents providing a mechanical effect so reducing intestinal transit time during alimentary tract upsets.

Supplemental source of Methionine and a Urine Acidifier.
A highly palatable urinary acidifier. Each teaspoon of Uri-Balance™ contains 400mg of dl methionine, recognised as an aid to maintaining an acidic urine in cats and dogs.
Many types of bacteria require a stable and relatively neutral pH level in order to survive. Thus, when you lower the pH in your pet’s urine, many bacteria are killed as they can no longer thrive as the urine flows normally through the urinary tract.
This normal cleansing naturally eliminates the bacteria and the infection without having to resort to specific antibacterial drugs. Uri-Balance™ provides a natural solution to the acidic imbalances, returning normal bladder and urinary tract function. Supports proper urinary tract health when dietary changes are impractical, as with multiple cat households or refusal by finicky eaters.
• Maintains acidic urine pH levels in dogs and cats.
• dl Methionine 480 mg/tsp.
• Easy to administer gel.
• Exceptional taste appeal.
