T

hank you for joining us for The Full Monty, the closing show of The Grand’s 25th Anniversary Season. We hope you enjoy this funny, off-beat musical comedy. The Full Monty centers around 6 unemployed steel workers who, feeling frustrated and unappreciated by the women in their lives, come up with a crazy scheme to make some quick cash. As they overcome fear, self-consciousness, and loneliness together they find strength in themselves and each other that gives them the courage to “let it go!”

The Grand’s 25th Anniversary Season has been full of award-winning shows, and tonight’s show is no different. The Full Monty was nominated for several Tony Awards in 2001 (including Best Musical) and won the prestigious Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music. The show first premiered at The Old Globe theatre in San Diego on June 1, 2000, and ran for two years on Broadway with over 750 performances. As the curtain falls tonight, we hope you will have had a wonderful time and will leave smiling and humming the melodies from the show.

Salt Lake Community College and the Grand Theatre have experienced tremendous expansion during the past several years. Our stunning Center For Arts and Media brings together the latest technology and resources in digital arts education, combines the best teachers in the valley, and puts them all in one environment—sharing, creating, inspiring, and collaborating throughout 130,000 square feet. hank you for joining us as we celebrate our 25th anniversary! We’re excited to bring you another award-winning show as we present The Full Monty.

The Full Monty was nominated for the Best Musical Tony Award in 2001 and won the Drama Desk Award for Best Music. The show is set in the early 1990’s in Buffalo, NY. Out of work and feeling emasculated and unappreciated by the women in their lives, a group of six unemployed steelworkers come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. As they conquer their self-consciousness, fears, and prejudices, the men come to discover that there’s more to being a “MAN” than just having a job and a healthy libido. The Full Monty is a hilariously funny and yet sensitive story about marriage, love, and friendship. The upbeat, 90’s pop style music is sure to make you want to dance in the isles.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST PATRICK RYAN CASTLE (Marty) is thrilled to be performing in his first production at the Grand Theater and in Salt Lake City. Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, Castle has performed in productions since the age of eleven and is now pursuing his theatrical passion by studying Musical Theater at the University of Utah. He plans on graduating in 2019 and beginning his journey into the professional theater world.

JAIME FUENTES (Keno) is a Behavioral Specialist at Utah Youth Village. He’s thrilled to be in his first show at the Grand Theatre. You may have seen Jaime performing with Pioneer Theatre Company in It Happened One Christmas and Fiddler on the Roof under the direction of Karen Azenberg. He began his theatrical training as a dancer on Odyssey Dance Theatre with Derryl Yeager. Jaime graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in International Studies and Economics.

NATHAN GINSBERG (Nathan) is thrilled to be back at the Grand Theatre since performing in Oliver six years ago. Nate is a seventh grader who enjoys biking, skiing, piano and drums. Some of Nate’s favorite roles were in Oliver, Gypsy, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Ragtime and Peter Pan. He also participates in staged readings for new plays; most notably Fun Home at the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab, which he loved seeing on Broadway this spring.

AARON KRAMER (Teddy) graduated with a degree in Theater Studies from the University of Utah. This is his third time working with the Grand Theater and he is so excited to be back. Credits here include Our Town and The Skin of Our Teeth. Aaron has also recently appeared in local productions of Buried Child, The Little Dog Laughed, and Reasons to be Pretty.

TIMOTHY LETHEIC GOINS (Horse) has performed extensively throughout the USA, Europe, and Asia. He has appeared in National & International Tours, many Regional Theater productions, Commercials, Television and performed as a Guest Entertainer & Production Vocalist for several Cruise lines and Theme parks throughout the world. Mr. Goins has recorded and premiered in original shows for Disney Entertainment and appears on disc 2 of The Lion King Special Edition DVD. Timothy is a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.

CALLIWAY LEVIN (Susan) is very excited to be making her debut in the Utah theatre community at the Grand Theatre. She is currently a freshman studying Musical Theatre at the University of Utah.

Some of her favorite previous roles include Demeter (CATS), Reno (Anything Goes), Cossette (Les Misérables), and Janet Van De Graaff (The Drowsy Chaperone).

JAYNE LUKE (Jeanette & Molly) has worked as an actress in Utah for 45 years. Some of her favorite acting roles have been in shows at the Grand, i.e.

Amanda in Glass Menagerie, Carrie Watts in Trip to Bountiful, Kate in Broadway Bound, and Charity in Sweet Charity. She is so happy to be coming Home to the Grand. She has had the privilege of working for the Davis Arts Council, Walk-Ons, Inc. Hale Centre Theatre, Hale Theater in Orem, SLAC, PTC, Plan-B and Sundance Summer Theatre. She is especially interested in doing theatre for, by and about seniors, and playing Jeanette, an old piano player who has been around, fits that bill.

NICK MORRIS (Malcolm) was most recently seen playing Nathan in Good Company Theatre’s premier production of Thrill Me, The Leopold and

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST Loeb Story. Prior to that, he was on the Grand’s stage reviving his role as Jinx in Forever Plaid. Nick attended Weber State University where he majored in modern dance and managed to sneak in a few musicals including West Side Story, Peter Pan and Pirated! Favorite shows include: Singing in The Rain (Cosmo), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), La Cage aux Folles (Hannah), Hairspray, Xanadu and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, which he also choreographed. Other theaters Nick has had the privilege of working with include: Pioneer Theatre, Hale Centre, and Centerpoint Legacy Theatre.

JON SCOTT (Ethan) has always enjoyed sharing his talents with an audience, so it seems like a matter of time before he shared his “talent” as well. He spent years as a dancer and improv comedian, and is currently learning various aerial acrobatics such as trapeze and teeterboard. Before he was willing to bare all, Jon’s past appearances include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Daniel), Seussical (Wickersham brother), and Anything Goes (Moonface Martin).

STEPHEN SHERMAN (Harold) returns to the stage after a long absence from musical theatre. As a young adult, Stephen performed in many theater and musical theater productions in Orange County, California. Most notable was his work in Anything Goes! at the South Coast Repertory. When not signing in the shower, Stephen owns and operates several businesses in Salt Lake County related to real estate, wholesale distributing and retail stores.

STEVE SHOEMAKER (Jerry) is happy to be returning to the Grand Theater. He enjoys acting as a hobby; his last role was Daniel in Once On This Island. He would like to thank his wife and his

“child” (a 100-pound golden retriever) for being captive audiences for him to practice his lines.

LIZ TERRY (Joanie) is excited to be returning to the Grand! She is a junior in the Musical Theatre Program at the U. Recent credits include American Idiot (Heather), Shrek The Musical (Gingy), and Hello Dolly. She thanks her family for their continued support as she pursues her dreams.

MICHELLE LYNN THOMPSON (Pam) is making her debut with the Grand Theatre. Michelle recently graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a BFA in Acting and an emphasis in Musical Theatre.

Recent credits: Jean – The Tall Girls, Isabella – The Glorious Ones, Mean Girl – Innovation: A Physical Theatre Piece, Mrs.Shelly – The Secret Garden, Rohna – Grand Hotel, Mrs. Webb – Our Town, Ensemble – Working, Brutus – Julius Caesar.

JAKE TRUMBO (Reg & Tony) is pleased to return for his third show with the Grand Theatre after appearing in two of the American Classics productions: Our Town and The Skin of Our Teeth. Other stage work includes the role of Weygan in Beowulf (Meat & Potato) and more than half a dozen productions with the Davis Arts Council in Layton, UT. DAWN VEREE (Vicki) is thrilled to be returning to the Grand Theater stage after her fun in Young Frankenstein last fall. A recent transplant to Salt Lake City, Dawn has performed at the Hale Center Theater, the Covey Center for the Performing Arts, is currently enjoying her fourth season as a member of the Utah Opera Chorus, and will begin rehearsals this summer for Cabaret with Utah Repertory Theater.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST JULIE WAITE (Georgie) is a transplant to Utah from Washington, D.C. (just on the Maryland side).

She holds a BA in Musical Theatre from Weber State University, and has been pleased to call the Grand Theatre one of her “homes away from home” for a few years now. Other Grand roles include The Witch (Into The Woods), Ms. Sherman (Fame), Julia Gibbs (Our Town), Chiffon (Little Shop of Horrors), and a choir member in the remount of Monty Python’s Not The Messiah. Julie spends her days as a full-time accompanist for the U of U Theatre Department.

KENNETH WAYNE (Dave) is overjoyed to return to the Grand Theater in one of his favorite roles.

He was last seen on the Grand stage in 2013 as the irrepressible Zaza in La Cage aux Folles . He has been seen on many Utah Stages from St. George to Park City. Favorite Roles include: Ablin & Zaza (La Cage aux Folles), Dave Bukatinsky (The Full Monty), Uncle Ernie (The Who’s Tommy), Horton the Elephant (Seussical: the Musical), Annas (Jesus Christ Superstar) with Egyptian Theater Co. AMBER WOODY (Estelle) is so excited to be back on stage doing what she loves, after being away for far too long. Amber has worked in various productions at The Hale, the Grand, Desert Star, Centerpoint and many others. Favorite roles include Adelaide in Guys & Dolls, Mimi in RENT, and Mom in Tate the Great and Max Steele the Big Deal. She also works as an actress and model and is represented by Talent Management Group. In ‘real’ life Amber is a photographer, makeup artist and wardrobe stylist and also works as Creative & PR Manager for Utah Business Magazine.

After attending the school of life for several years in Texas, she began her acting career at Salt Lake Community College, including playing the role of Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Following that role, she chose to pursue technical theater, finding life behind the scenes equally fulfilling.

CAROLINE CAIN (Stage Manager) is a graduate of the University of Utah with her BFA in Stage Management. Caroline has worked for the Grand Theatre since 2008 and during that time has stage managed Young Frankenstein, Always Patsy Cline (2015), Skin of Our Teeth, Forever Plaid (2014), Rings, Not the Messiah (2013/2014), and Heat; production stage managed Our Town and assistant stage managed The Crucible, Wizard of Oz, Messiah, Miss Ever’s Boys and Urinetown. Other credits include Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike (Wasatch Theatre Company), The Children’s Hour (U of U Babcock), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Salt Lake Shakespeare). Assistant stage management credits include Avenue Q (U of U Babcock) and The Eccentrics (U of U Studio 115).

BAILEY CUMMINGS (Asst. Director) is in the Musical Theatre Program at the University of Utah. He made his Grand Theatre debut this past fall in Young Frankenstein: The Musical (Ensemble/Swing). He most recently assistant directed The University of Utah’s production of The Importance of Being Earnest. Other recent credits include: Hello, Dolly! (Ambrose Kemper) at Kingsbury Hall and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Protean #2) at The Babcock Theatre. This summer Bailey will be traveling to Wooster, Ohio to perform with the company of the Ohio Light Opera.

ADAM DAY (Sound Design) has a BFA in Performing Arts Design from the University of Utah. Some of his recent credits include sound design for Climbing With Tigers (Salt Lake Acting Company) sound design and live mix for The Last Five Years (the Grand Theatre), Young Frankenstein (the Grand Theatre), American Idiot (University of Utah Theatre Department), Godspell (University of Utah Theatre Department), Little Shop of Horrors (the Grand Theatre), Lost in the Woods (Flying Bobcat Theatrical Laboratory), Feast (NOW-ID) and Spring Awakening (University of Utah Theatre Department). He also works as the Technical Coordinator at the Draper City Amphitheater where he has been for the last six seasons.

DAVID EVANOFF (Conductor) has played, conducted and acted in several Grand Theater shows.

He owns David Evanoff Sound Designs Recording Studios, where he produces music and audio for TV, film, radio and special events. He just recently premiered his first original musical, The Kingdom of Heaven at Plan-B Theatre Company, and Operas from the Hive, a project for Utah Opera, where he produced and recorded 5 new short Opera pieces, combining local bands and Utah Opera singers.

MEGAN JENSEN (Costume Design) is a recent graduate of the University of Utah’s Performing Arts Design program. Her recent theatrical design credits include The Last Five Years and Young Frankenstein (the Grand Theatre), and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (Babcock Theatre).

JESSE KLICK (Asst. Choreographer) is grateful to work on his first show at the Grand. Previous credits include Hero in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Sebastian in Twelfth Night, Ensemble in American Idiot, and Ensemble/Cornelius u.s. in Hello Dolly. Jesse just finished his sophomore year in the MTP at the University of Utah and is pursuing a minor in modern dance. He is the proud recipient of a Freshman Academic Achievement Award for NonResidents and two Fine Arts Department of Theatre Scholarships and is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and the International Golden Key Honor Society.

ADRIANA LEMKE (Fight Choreographer) Adriana is happy to be working with The Grand Theatre again.

She is a graduate of the University of Utah’s Actor Training Program and works as a fight director, stage combat teacher, and actor. She is grateful for the opportunity she had to work as assistant fight director to Chris DuVal in Utah Shakespeare Festival’s 2015 season and Pioneer Theatre Company’s The Count of Monte Cristo. As fight director, Adriana has worked on several shows, including Salt Lake Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, The Grand Theatre’s Picnic and The University of Utah and Flying Bobcat’s Hamlet: All Female. Many thanks to Marc for his constant support.

STEVIE MITCHELL (ASM) is a junior at the University of Utah and is studying Theatre and English with her heart set on playwriting. She was the assistant director in the Grand Theatre’s previous production, Picnic. With acting and directing now under her belt, she is excited to explore stage management. Stevie is happy to be working at the Grand again with its

Directing experiences include The Good Doctor and Kaleidoscope.

SETH MILLER (Lighting Design) came to work at the Grand Theatre in 2007 as the Technical Director.

He is now in his eighth season with the Grand and is currently the Executive Producer. He started out working in the IATSE Local 99 stage hands union, after which he attended the University of Utah for a degree in theatrical design. Seth began working at Lagoon Amusement Park in 1997 for their Entertainment Department as Staff Lighting Designer and still designs lights for their shows today. From 2001-2006 he worked at The Egyptian Theatre in Park City. He also works as a free-lance Lighting Designer for a variety of local theatre companies, as well as many corporate events around the country, including Walt Disney World for Disney Event Group and Harley Davidson’s Annual National Dealer’s Conventions.

KENNETH PLAIN (Music director) happily returns to the Grand after last fall’s Young Frankenstein. In 2015, Ken music directed the Sundance Film Festival opening night gala with the cast of Broadway’s Fun Home. Regional theaters include: Powerhouse, Theatre East, Sundance and Pioneer Theatre Company. Credits include: A Gentleman’s Guide To Love And Murder (workshop), Les Miserables, Elf, It Happened One Night and Spellbound(starring Sally Field), and the world premiere of Jones & Schmidt’s, Mirette. Ken works as Lagoon entertainment’s musical director and is on the U of U theatre department’s music staff.

CHRISTINE MOORE (Choreography) is excited to return to the Grand after working on Young Frankenstein. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in both the Ballet and Theater Departments at the University of Utah. She holds her BFA and MFA from the Department of Ballet. She is excited to be choreographing for The Grand Theatre and working with the amazing cast and creative team.

Choreography credits include: Hair (Babcock Theater), Wild Party (Studio 115), Would Be Gentleman (Babcock Theater), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Babcock Theater). Her choreography has been showcased in the American College Dance Festival, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas show PBS Special 2013-2015, in various musicals and industrial shows.

She was also chosen to be a part of the SDC 2011 Observership Program.

MÁIRE NELLIGAN (Properties Design) received a BFA in theatre from Marietta College before attending graduate school at AU. She worked as a techie, a designer, an actor, and a director in the Midwest and Southwest before moving to Salt Lake. Máire took over as Properties Master for the Grand several seasons ago, debuting with Man of La Mancha. While her favorite show tends to be whichever she is currently working on, Miss Evers’ Boys and The Wizard of Oz are particularly memorable, and dressing last season’s La Cage aux Folle may well go down as the most fun ever. Past performances include roles in Fuddy Meers, On the Verge and Dead Man’s Cell Phone.

THE FULL MONTY

HALEE RASMUSSEN (Set Design) received her BFA in the Performing Arts Design Program from the University of Utah with a double emphasis in technical direction and set design in 2009. She is currently in her fourth year as the Assistant Technical Director and Scenic Charge Artist for the Department of Theatre at the University of Utah. Halee is elated to be in her sixth year as one of the resident set designers at the Grand Theatre. Other design credits include: Salt Lake Shakespeare Company, Utah Lyric Opera, Alligator Press Productions, Lagoon, Utah Cultural Arts Center, and the University of Utah; design assistant credits with Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theatre Company, and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.

DAVID SCHMIDT (Director) returns to The Grand after directing last fall’s Young Frankenstein. David is the Head of the Voice Area for the Department of Theatre at the University of Utah, and helped to bring back the Musical Theater Department in 2007 after a 30 year absence. David is the co-founder and past Board President of the Salt Lake High School for the Performing Arts, Salt Lake City’s first performing arts high school. He is also the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Utah Light Opera Company. David’s Opera and Operetta directing credits include Die Entfuehrung aus dem Serail, Don Pasquale and Hänsel unt Gretel at Oper Im Park in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria; Die Zaubeflote, Pirates of Penzance and The Gondoliers for Utah Light Opera. David has directed Avenue Q, Sweeney Todd, The Wild Party and Songs for a New World at the University of Utah, and Once Upon a Mattress for the Salt Lake Shakespeare Festival. He has music directed Hair, The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Rocky Horror Picture Show for the Department of Theatre.

PATRON INFORMATION AUDIO ENHANCEMENT EQUIPMENT is available for theatre patrons who are hearingimpaired. The concession stand has Comtex wireless personal receivers which allow a patron to sit anywhere in the theatre and receive high fidelity audio. Because there is no charge for this service, you will be requested to leave your driver’s license with the cashier until the equipment is returned.

BABIES AND SMALL CHILDREN often make it uncomfortable for other theatre patrons.

Therefore, no children under 5 are allowed.

Small children must have their own seat.

DISABLED PATRONS may use wheelchair seating areas in the theatre. Each area can accommodate four wheelchair patrons and companion chairs. Ticket prices vary for each section. Aisle seats may be requested by patrons who can be assisted in the transfer from wheelchairs to theatre seats.

BOX OFFICE HOURS are 12:00PM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday and 12:00PM to 8:00PM on the night of a performance, including Saturdays.

LATECOMERS will not be seated in their reserved seats until the end of a scene.

Latecomers will be seated in available seating that will not disturb punctual theatre patrons.

LOST AND FOUND will be held by the head usher until the end of the performance.

957.3322. All items, after a period of 24 hours, will be taken to Administrative Services in Room 1-060. They may be contacted at 801.957.3301.

PHOTOGRAPHY, AUDIO OR VIDEO RECORDING of any performance or the possession of any such device inside this theatre without the written permission of management is prohibited. Offenders may be requested to leave and may be liable for damages and other lawful remedies.

THEATRE PARKING is available at no charge in the parking areas on the East and North side of the building. Ticketing will occur when parked in the disabled parking areas without a proper pass. Please note that parking meters are still active during performances
