NOTES FROM ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Welcome to Tuacahn! We are excited to have you in the audience tonight as part of our twentieth season where you can enjoy a world class Broadway production in what I consider the most beautiful performing arts amphitheatre in the world. I am especially pleased with the caliber of actors who will be on our stage this season. We auditioned over 1400 actors for just 38 positions. From a Tony award winner to several Broadway veterans as well as seasoned regional and local professionals, I’m confident you will agree that our performers are among the best we’ve ever had on the Tuacahn stage. Many of you may not be aware that Tuacahn is the largest performing arts theatre in the State of Utah. This year we anticipate more than 270,000 guests will attend an event at Tuacahn. The economic impact generated by Tuacahn exceeds $62 million as more than 82% of our guests visit from outside of Washington County. We presented Disney’s The Little Mermaid in 2011. The response was overwhelming resulting in a record attendance and capacity sellouts at every performance. With The Wizard of Oz and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, we are experiencing our largest sales in our history. You, the audience, have spoken. We hope you will enjoy another creative interpretation, of these timeless classics. Please sit back and enjoy the amazing natural surroundings of Southern Utah’s Padre Canyon and Expect the Unforgettable. With warmest regards, Scott S.
