NOTES FROM ARTISTIC DIRECTOR It was the beginning of a ‘When You Wish’ kind of dream. In the spring of 1995, Tuacahn Amphitheatre opened its doors to share with its audiences Tuacahn’s first musical theatre production UTAH! Today, Tuacahn Center for the Arts continues to realize this dream to heighten the arts, education, and the community it serves. Now, in 2015, having produced more than 50 major musical theatre productions, hosting more than 150 concerts, showcasing hundreds of professional actors and musicians, educating thousands of students, involving thousands of community volunteers, and entertaining hundreds of thousands of patrons, Tuacahn Center for the Arts celebrates its 20th Anniversary! I cannot think of a better series of shows to remember and highlight 20 years at Tuacahn. Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, the never before seen Disney’s When You Wish, and Sister Act are sure to engrave warmth and laughter on your heart. After listening to over 1,400 live auditions of actors in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Provo, and locally, we have brought the crème de la crème back to Tuacahn. From our regional performers to our Broadway veterans, Tuacahn’s cast truly brings Broadway to the Canyon! For me, watching a guest leave with a smile on their face, or a small child hugging one of our actors, is what it is all about. Here at Tuacahn we provide more than tickets to see a show. At Tuacahn, we create smiles that forge memories that will last a lifetime. I want you to come to Tuacahn truly expecting the unforgettable.

MISSION: Tuacahn edifies and inspires the human spirit through professional world class family entertainment and an unparalleled artistic and academic experience that matches the majesty of our canyon. Known best for its professional theatre, Tuacahn attracts the most talented actors in America. Each year, thousands of applicants audition from New York City to Los Angeles. Tuacahn productions include professional Equity Actors, many of whom have performed on Broadway or in other nationally recognized venues. As a community asset, Tuacahn entertains more than 265,000 patrons each year, with musicals, concerts, shopping, food, and other special events. Tuacahn is Utah’s largest professional non-profit theatre and acts as an economic engine generating an annual impact of more than $75 million. Visitors stay in hotels, enjoy restaurants, and shop at retail outlets while enjoying recreational activities in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Tuacahn High School (THS) for the Performing Arts is Utah’s first public charter school, opening in 1999. THS offers an intimate college and career preparatory academic experience with a focus on the arts - music, dance, drama, musical theatre, visual arts, and technical theatre. There is no tuition for Utah residents and outof-state students pay a modest investment to attend. Combined with the Amphitheatre, there is no other high school experience comparable to Tuacahn.

TUACAHN TURNS 20! A MILESTONE IN THE CANYON

Thank you for celebrating with us this special 20th anniversary season that marks a magical milestone in Padre Canyon. In 1995 Doug Stewart’s and Hyrum W. Smith’s dream of building a world class outdoor theatre in southern Utah became a reality as the Tuacahn Amphitheatre opened its doors to eager audiences. As we look back over the last 20 years, Tuacahn has continued its mission of heightening the arts, education, and the community it serves. Now, in 2015, Tuacahn has produced more than 50 major theatre productions and more than 150 concerts. Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts has educated thousands of students. Tuacahn is a community asset fueling millions of dollars in terms of economic impact into the local economy. Thanks to the past and future generosity of its community, patrons and supporters, Tuacahn will continue to grow over the next 20 years. Only one’s imagination can foresee what milestones of magic and adventure will come along the way. Whether the crystal ball holds more Disney magic or the many other spectacular Broadway shows, Tuacahn will dazzle audiences, elevate students, and strengthen its community for years to come.
