Welcome
JUNE 26–JUNE 29, 2014 Noon to 11pm, Library Square 200 East 400 South, Salt Lake City uaf.org
Every year the board, staff, coordinators, production crews and volunteers work diligently to create a “city of art” for our community. The four-day Festival takes more than a year to design and develop the artistic programs, a good six months to work on the production and technical pieces, and a week of labor to build. As you look through this guide you’ll see the talents of many, many individuals working behind the scenes to bring one of the country’s finest arts festivals to Utah. Enjoy! Lisa Sewell, Executive Director Thanks to the people of Salt Lake County and the Zoo, Arts & Parks. mobile app, news, info & schedules at uaf.org
Art Fans Unite The heart and soul of the Festival are the thousands of ART FANS, from sponsors and community partners to art and music lovers. With your avid support and committed patronage, we build this vibrant Festival community together. Thank you.

AUSTRALIA’S STRANGE FRUIT THUR–SUN, JUNE 26-29, 6PM AND 8PM, THE ROUND
While enjoying the Festival, catch Australia’s Strange Fruit, a Melbournebased performing arts company that produces and performs remarkable works fusing theatre, dance and circus, courtesy of a unique elevated medium. Perched atop 5-metre high flexible poles of original design, the troupe delivers a sublime performance, bending and swaying in the air. Echoing a field of wheat stalks swaying in the breeze, the poles’ extreme strength and flexibility allow the performer to bow toward impossible angles, swaying back and forth in a hypnotizing dance as the audience looks up in wonder.

MAKE ART! DAILY, JUNE 26-29, NOON-9PM, BY THE LEO
The Festival is partnering with the EnjiGo Foundation to showcase the creativity of Salt Lake City’s maker community. Makers utilize electronics, robotics, 3-D printing, and more traditional activities such as arts and crafts.

THE HARMONY OF THE GEARS Be mesmerized by the complex dance of cycles within cycles expressed by laser cut acrylic planetary gear systems. The House of Frog Once upon a time a frog named Gary
worked his way out of a small pond and saw the world by touring with royalties such as Martha Graham, Barry Manilow & N.Y.C. Ballet.
Upon returning home he saw the lack of technical support for the arts in our kingdom. Through much sweat, toil & good times had by all, he built Oasis. That was 37 years ago and still to this day you can catch a glimpse of Gary as he hurries off to do his next show. But never fear as he has collected a well trained staff to help you with your needs.
