December 18, 1927 to Dan Thomas, Sr. and Georgia Ramson in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She received her formal education at Pine Hill School in Pine Bluff. Annie accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and united with Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, also in Pine Bluff. Annie Mae Thomas was united in holy matrimony with Joe Clarke in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Annie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking. In her leisure, she enjoyed singing. Annie Mae Clarke departed this life on April 16, 2016. She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Ramson; father, Dan Thomas, Sr.; seven brothers and eight sisters; husband, Joe Clarke; ten children and numerous grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters, Beatrice Hooker-Thomas of Oakland, California; Helen J. Stevenson of Calumet City, Illinois, Mary A. Kilgore, Jamie Thomas-Mack and Janice M. Owney, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one brother, Willie (Gloria) Thomas; two sisters, Lottie B. Elmore of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ola Mae (Stanley) Davis of Arkansas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends.
