School Sisters of Notre Dame host '2022 Women's Leadership Luncheon' On Thursday, March 3, 2022, the School Sisters of Notre Dame Central Pacific Province hosted their annual "2022 Women's Leadership Luncheon" at the Wisconsin Club, 900 W. Wisconsin Ave. The luncheon recognizes women leaders who have made a positive difference in our community. The theme for this year's luncheon was, "A Title is Not a Leader;" the featured keynote speaker was Dr. Eve M. Hall, President and CEO of the Milwaukee Urban League. Dr. Hall's speech emphasized the importance of action, leading by example and how one can be a leader without a distinguished title. The event honored Milwaukee Catholic Home Vice President of Clinical Integration Katie Grant and Children's Wisconsin Chief Information Security Officer Angela Johnson. Pictured at the event is Dr. Hall (seated) with the staff of the Milwaukee Urban League.

MKE Fellows and MMOA honor local leaders for Black History Month On February 28, 2022, Midwest Minority Officials Association (MMOA) hosted a special Black History Month salute for newly appointed WIAA Associate Director LeVar Ridgeway and new Alverno College head golf coach Richard Badger as part of a day-long salute to excellence and achievement at their brand new Associated Bank Center for Professional Development (ABC4PD) at 815 N. Water Street in downtown Milwaukee. The private reception and round table immediately followed the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremonies of the MKE Fellows ABC4PD where many business, educational, sports, media, and community leaders will be in attendance for public acknowledgment of "Butch Lee Day" in Milwaukee. In keeping with the spirit of Black History Month and in execution of Civic Engagement – one of the five core pillars upon which the MKE Fellows initiative is based – the event will serve to recognize outstanding achievement throughout the state. Pictured at the event are (from left) MKE Fellows President John W. Daniels, Ill; MKE Fellows PR/Media Relations Billy Young; Alverno College Head Golf Coach Richard Badger; WIAA Assistant Director LeVar Ridgeway, and MMOA President Barney Hall.

Samad's House Corp hosts 'Black Balloon Release Day' to recognize OD deaths On Sunday, March 6, 2022, Samad's House, a sober living home, hosted a "Black Balloon Release Day," to honor those that have lost their lives to drug overdoses and those who continue to suffer from the perils of addiction. According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, between January 1 and October 18, 2020 there was an all-time high of 435 confirmed drug overdose deaths. Unfortunately, Milwaukee County surpassed that number in 2021 with 560 reported overdose deaths. The increase was attributed to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The zip codes most affected included 53212, 53219, 53207, 53214 and 53206.

BOOTSTRAPS: A MESSAGE TO THE 48 PERCENT OF UNDECIDED VOTERS
WHY DR. DARRELL L. WILLIAMS IS WISCONSIN’S BEST CHOICE FOR THE U.S. SENATE BY A CONCERNED VOTER PROVEN LEADERSHIP I don’t know about you, but when I look at the characteristics and attributes in the next United States Senator for the State of Wisconsin, ‘to represent me,’ hands down it is Dr. Darrell Williams. He is the kind of guy who has not only pulled himself up by the bootstraps, but God graced him from meager agricultural beginnings in Southern Mississippi and has provided the much needed leadership and resources to help others to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps in the State of Wisconsin. His track record is unprecedented. EDUCATION He is a Ph.D. scholar and graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Urban Education. He has served for more than two decades as an administrator in education and was selected as National Principal of the Year. From Principal of Whittier School of Excellence, to Interim Superintendent of the Beloit School System prior to being selected to Lead Governor Tony Evers Crisis Team, Darrell Williams is a strong supporter of student leadership initiatives and bringing top leaders and mentors in the public school system to empower them to dare to dream their own dreams and discover success along life’s path. UNITED STATES VETERAN Darrell Williams is a 29year decorated combat veteran who received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for service to our country both domwarixLLY and abroad.
