Obituary
James Benjamin Smith was born on March 18, 1951
to Lucille Fletcher and Edward Smith in Indianola, Mississippi. He received his formal education in Sunflower County, Indianola, MS. James accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and united with Center Mount Vine Church. He moved to Milwaukee, WI 14 years ago. James Smith was united in holy matrimony with Dorothy Davis on March 15, 1971 in Indianola, MS. Their union was blessed with five children.
James was an honorary landscaper. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

James Benjamin Smith departed this life on February 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Fletcher; father, Edward Smith; and several sisters and brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Smith; six daughters, Patricia (Charles) Phipps of Milwaukee, WI, Victoria Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Takia Thomas and Nicole Thomas of Chicago, IL, Monica (DeAndrĂŠ) Smith-King and Sharon Williams; three sons, James (Shakeeta) Smith, Jr. David Thomas of Chicago, IL and Frederick (Syreeta) Smith; 38 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine (John) Thompson of FL, Cora Miller and Varlen Patterson of TN; one brother, Sylvester Smith of TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
