Obituary
Mary Belle Reed
was born on July 28, 1941, to the union
of Charles and Aslee (nee Redmond) Malone in the rural area of Pickens, in Holmes County, Mississippi. She confessed her faith in
Christ at an early age, and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church in Pickens, Mississippi.
Mary was in the class of 1963 at L.A.C. (now J.J. McClain High School) of Lexington, Mississippi.
In 1963, Mary and Ellis Reed were united in holy matrimony. To this
union, were the blessings of one daughter, Kathleen Reed; and two sons, Michael and Jerome Reed.
Mary was preceeded in death by an infant child, Ellis Reed, Jr.; her parents, Charles and Aslee Malone; siblings, Charlene Lampley,
Hercules Malone, Josephine Patterson, Verbie “Bubble” Malone, Elizabeth Johnson and Redmond Charles “R.C.” Malone.
Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Kathleen Reed, and children, Kevin E. Armstrong (of North Carolina) and Emmanuel
Reed (adopted 2nd cousin); sons, Jerome and Michael A. Reed, Sr., and Michael’s children, Jamal, Destiny, Michael Jr., and Alexis Reed; one
sister, Carline (James) White of Lima, Ohio; three dear sisters-in-law, Rose “Candy” Malone, Quincella Malone (both of Milwaukee, WI),
and Earline Malone (of Pickens, MS); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
