My name is Martyn Peel, and I'm the Head of Boarding at Milton Abbey School I wanted to take a moment to highlight the exceptional work our boarding team is doing and to extend a warm welcome to our new students who have joined us for the summer term, enriching our community
With the arrival of summer, our students have been making the most of the longer days by socialising, playing sports, and enjoying the warm, fresh air
To celebrate National Boarding Week, our houses have engaged in a variety of activities Gardening has been particularly popular, yielding fantastic results and instilling a sense of pride in everyone's efforts and accomplishments
Our weekend programme is thriving. A typical weekend may include walks, BBQs, and a range of on-site activities such as volleyball, croquet, and pizza making Before the end of term, we had three residential trips that the students really enjoyed, and of course, the summer ball for our leavers
Lastly, our team in boarding is looking forward to welcoming all our new students and seeing familiar faces returning in September Preparation is already underway to ensure everyone's experience is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Have a wonderful summer break!
A huge congratulations to our talented Lower Sixth hospitality students for acing their afternoon tea assessment!
Our students put in incredible effort researching cakes, scones, and sandwich fillings, crafting unique menus that came together beautifully for this special event. Everyone played a vital role, whether it was preparing the food, setting up the event, or serving our lovely guests
By inviting guests from the local village, the students received valuable feedback on their food and service, helping them assess and refine their skills for future events
It was wonderful to see so many local shops and suppliers being part of this assessment Thank you to Oxfords Bakery for the delicious bread, Steepton Bill Farm Shop for the fresh eggs, cucumbers, lemons, and courgettes, Jam from Dorset with Love, butter from Longmans, and a special mention to Mrs Driver for the delightful chutney!

They gathered footage, conducted interviews with key individuals, and each produced their unique version of the film
