2020/21 SEASON RESET Join us in-person or virtually!
We have important news to share about our 2020/21 Season. We’ve been working diligently to reopen in a way that is safe for both audiences and artists. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 constraints, we cannot present the season we previously announced. When it became apparent that we couldn’t produce some shows fully due to safety protocols, and would have to significantly limit seating to socially distance, we concluded the entire lineup should move to the 2021/2022 Season. But we are determined to still have a season. We’ve developed a creative way to bring you amazing theatrical experiences via our 2020/21 Season Reset. The Season Reset features five plays that provide entertaining and uplifting stories in theaters that are socially-distanced and revamped for the safety of everyone. We recognize that returning to the theater will be a personal decision. To aid you in this decision, we have developed a RISK-FREE Reset Pass: • Experience shows live in theaters with capacities limited to 35% OR via highdefinition recordings delivered directly to your screens at home (your choice). • If COVID-19 causes cancellations, you will automatically receive a refund. Details on the shows, pass levels and safety protocols are included in this brochure. When you purchase a Reset Pass, you will be seated in socially distanced locations with the best seats offered on a first come, first served basis. As a thank you, all Reset Pass options come with a free ticket to A Christmas Carol presented by Wells Fargo. Support for your Milwaukee Rep has never meant more. Never. Our artists and staff know who keeps your Milwaukee Rep alive: our patrons and donors. Simply put, without you, there would be no Milwaukee Rep. COVID-19 has presented an unprecedented challenge – help keep our artists working and our theater alive by purchasing a Reset Pass today. Also, please consider making a one-time donation to our Rep Rising Fund to help sustain our artists, staff and facilities so that we can rise to this enormous challenge. Hundreds of artists and staff call Milwaukee Rep home, so please help preserve the theater you know and love. All new and increased gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $500,000 by our Board of Trustees! We hope to see you soon either virtually or in-person!

HEALTH & SAFETY ALWAYS COMES FIRST!
The safety and well-being of our patrons, artists and staff is our top priority. As we prepare to welcome you back to Milwaukee Rep, please read about the measures we have put into place to make your experience as safe and touch free as possible. GUIDELINES
HVAC
• We are requiring patrons, staff and volunteers to wear face masks at all times. Upon arrival at the theater everyone will have their temperature taken using a non-contact infrared thermometer. • We are asking any patron who is feeling ill to please stay home. Our staff and volunteers are expected to do the same. • In advance of your performance, you will receive an email with any updated guidelines in accordance with the CDC, State of Wisconsin and/ or the City of Milwaukee.
NEW CLEANING PROTOCOLS • In addition to our standard cleaning process, we are increasing the cleaning frequency of all public spaces, including the theaters, lobby and restrooms and will be using the Clorox Total 360 System with power wrap and electrostatic technology to disinfect and sanitize even the most difficult places to get to. Clorox Total 360, which is currently used by many airlines, will be applied before every performance. • We are thoroughly disinfecting door handles, counters and all shared surfaces prior to, during and after every performance. • We are making touchless hand sanitizer stations available throughout the building.
• Our entire system has gone through a deep clean, which we will continue to do on a regular basis, and we have upgraded to the highest quality MERV filters. Additionally, we are pumping in the maximum amount of fresh air into our building before, during and after performances.
TICKETS AND SEATING • We are implementing a fully digital ticketing system that will include contactless ticket scanning. • In accordance with CDC and City of Milwaukee guidelines, our theater seating has been reduced for proper social distancing. In the Quadracci Powerhouse our maximum seating capacity is 250 (normal capacity 720) and in the Stiemke Studio it is 75 (normal capacity 205). • We have eliminated seats in the front row to provide more distance between the patrons and the stage.
PROGRAMS • Our programs are going digital. In addition to information about the production and director’s notes, stay tuned for behind-the-scenes materials and more content. Programs are available on our website as well as sent via email in advance of your performance.
• In our restrooms, our soap/water dispensers and toilet flushers will now all be touchless.
MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE As much as we are certain of our commitment to resume production, we know we are in uncertain times. Rest assured that if for any reason we must cancel performances we will honor your commitment to us by offering a full array of ticket exchange and refund options.

ELLA FITZGERALD: FIRST LADY OF SONG Starring Alexis J Roston
February 16 – March 14, 2021 Quadracci Powerhouse A Celebration in Story and Song
“Roston holds the audience in the palm of her hand”
Award-winning actress Alexis J Roston salutes America’s favorite jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald. Roston was last seen at Milwaukee Rep in her mesmerizing star turn as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill (Chicago’s Jeff Award, Black Theatre Alliance Award) and in the 2014 production of The Color Purple. In a spellbinding performance, Roston effortlessly emits the sultry swing and playful joy that made Ella an American treasure. Classic tunes by Ellington, Gershwin, Porter and more include “Summertime,”“The Lady Is a Tramp,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.”
– Showbiz Chicago
Anthony Crivello as
MCGUIRE
By Dick Enberg
Produced by Rech Entertainment
March 23 – April 18, 2021 Quadracci Powerhouse Celebrate a Local Legend
“Anthony Crivello’s performance in McGuire is one for the ages” – OnMilwaukee
Few names trigger more memories and smiles in Milwaukee than Al McGuire, Marquette University’s legendary basketball coach. Many know him for leading the Warriors to the NCAA Championship and for his candid television personality, but few knew him like his broadcasting partner – the late Emmy Award-winner Dick Enberg. Back by popular demand from a sold-out extended run at Milwaukee Rep in 2017, McGuire is a touching portrait of the uncommonly funny and profound man behind the legend with the man himself played by Tony Award-winning actor Anthony Crivello.

ANTONIO’S SONG/I WAS DREAMING OF A SON By Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez Directed by Mark Clements
April 7 – May 2, 2021 Stiemke Studio World Premiere Event
“It’s brilliantly, movingly done, with a virtuosic performance by Suarez” – DC Metro
Antonio’s Song is a poetic journey of a dancer/artist/father questioning the balance of his passions – art, culture, family. From the streets of Brooklyn to Russia’s most prestigious ballet training studios, Antonio struggles to reconcile multiple ethnic identities. He wrestles with the legacy of stereotypes of masculinity in modern America while discovering the beauty of becoming a father. Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith’s (Until the Flood) powerful poetry is intermixed with stunning original movement, music and evocative projected imagery to create a wholly unique and stunning world premiere production performed by the breathtaking Antonio Edwards Suarez.
NINA SIMONE: FOUR WOMEN By Christina Ham
April 27 – May 23, 2021 Quadracci Powerhouse A Provocative and Personal Musical Journey
“A moving and gorgeous testimonial” – Star Tribune
When “The High Priestess of Soul” Nina Simone heard about the tragic bombing death of four young girls in an Alabama church in 1963, the songstress turned to her music as a means of expressing the country’s agony. Powerful anthems such as “Four Women,”“Mississippi Goddam,”“His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” and “To Be Young, Gifted and Black” followed, fueling the Civil Rights Movement and transforming her public persona from songstress to activist. Through storytelling and song, Nina Simone: Four Women reveals how this iconic artist found her true voice. Programming, cast, dates and prices are subject to change.
