Welcome! Sixty-five years ago, Milwaukee Repertory Theater was founded to create exceptional theater in Milwaukee for Milwaukee. From our humble beginnings on Oakland Avenue, The Rep has grown into the largest performing arts organization in the state in terms of audiences served and one of the largest theaters in the country. What better way to celebrate our 65th Anniversay than with an extraordinary season for our audiences. In my tenure as Artistic Director, I’ve never been more proud of a season than the one before us. It is our largest season in more than a decade, features new plays by exceptional playwrights, including Milwaukee’s own Pulitzer Prize-winner Ayad Akhtar, the unveiling of a $1.75 million renovation of our beloved Stackner Cabaret and kicks off with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights. Excitement around the new season led Chicago Tribune critic Chris Jones to declare it rivals anything in Chicago and beyond – and we hope that you’ll agree!
Mark Clements Artistic Director
