Katie Deal is an award-winning singer-songwriter and actress known for her authentic country sound. She returns to Milwaukee Rep where she appeared in Back Home Again: On the Road with John Denver. Deal is the recipient of a Georgia Country Artist of the Year Award, Atlanta Society of Entertainers
Recording Artist of the Year Award, and an honored member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. She has performed with country icon L oretta Lynn and appears as a frequent guest vocalist with Atlanta Pops Orchestra. He serves as Executive Producer of Artists Lounge Live, co-founded with wife Angela Ingersoll, presenting concerts nationwide. Jeff Hamann BassJeff Hamann is an accomplished bassist and educator who has taught and performed professionally for over thirty years. He currently teaches and performs for the Milwaukee Jazz Institute. Hamann has been heard by millions over the last twenty years on the National Public Radio Show “Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know?.” He has performed throughout the U.S and toured internationally with a who’s who of jazz legends including Charles McPherson, Slide Hampton, Benny Golson, Phil Woods, Ben Sidran, Frank Morgan, Ray Appleton, Peter Bernstein, Brian Lynch, David Hazeltine, Eric Alexander and Cheyenne Jackson. Prestigious international festival appearances include Jazz Yatra in Mumbai, India and Monte Carlo Jazz Festival.

Johnny Rodgers

Johnny Rodgers is an internationally celebrated singer-songwriter, pianist, Broadway veteran, and recording artist. As an Ambassador of American Music, Johnny Rodgers dazzles audiences with his Americana mélange of original songs and classic favorites. He tours for the State Department to places such as the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Johnny has toured Russia and performed with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, with Igor Butman and his Jazz Orchestra as well as for the US Embassy Independence Day Celebration and Grodno Jazz Festival in Minsk, Belarus. Rodgers doubled as Music Director and piano man for Liza Minnelli performances/ tours and starred in and wrote the song, “I Would Never Leave You” for Liza’s Tony Award-winning Liza’s At The Palace, which was filmed and released by PBS television. Johnny has earned New York’s Nightlife, Bistro and MAC awards for his performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Jazz At Lincoln Center, Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, Feinstein’s at Loews Regency, and other premiere clubs. Bob Monagle has worked as a professional guitarist in the Milwaukee area music scene for the past 35 years as both a leader and sideman. He has been the guitarist for several national and regional theatre productions including In the Heights, Rent, Hairspray, Next To Normal, Man of La Mancha, Assassins, and Dreamgirls. Milwaukee Rep credits including serving as Music Director for New Age, and Guitar Coach for productions of August Wilson’s Seven Guitars and The Legend

Terry Smirl Drums
Drummer, percussionist, pianist, and arranger Terry Smirl is Principal Timpanist with both Milwaukee Ballet and Wisconsin Philharmonic Orchestras. He leads the Terry Smirl Trio and appears with all of the area’s finest jazz musicians. He’s been a core member of Present Music, one of the nation’s foremost New Music ensembles, since its inception, recording extensively with the group and performing throughout the United States, Japan, and Turkey. Other appearances include Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Bel Canto Chamber Orchestra, Skylight Opera Theater, Florentine Opera, Wisconsin Wind Orchestra, American Bach, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Kamran Ince Ensemble, Bach Chamber Orchestra, Concord Chamber Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and Festival City Symphony. Clements Artistic DirectorMark is an award-winning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season.
Mark has directed over 30 productions at Milwaukee Rep including World and American Premieres, his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol and all but one mainstage musical including Titanic the Musical, West Side Story and Dreamgirls. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the award-winning Derby Playhouse in the UK where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He created and directed the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its World Premiere in an upcoming season.
Chad Bauman Executive DirectorNow in his eleventh season at Milwaukee Rep, under Chad’s guidance the theater has grown significantly from a $9M to $14M+ organization. He’s completed two capital campaigns to remodel the Stackner Cabaret, build the endowment, launch the John D. Lewis New Play Development Program, create a new A Christmas Carol and deepen the theater’s community engagement programs. He is currently stewarding the $78M campaign to build the new Associated Bank Theater Center. Previously he was the Associate Executive Director at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, where he was instrumental in opening the Mead Center for American Theater, a new 200,000 square feet performing arts complex. While at Arena, he worked on the Broadway transfers of Next to Normal (Pulitzer Prize; Tony Award), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Tony Award), and Wishful Drinking starring Carrie Fisher. Bauman is a graduate of Harvard Business School with a Master of Fine Arts in producing from the CalArts.
