Milwaukee Rep 2021/22 Season

A Note From

Artistic Director Mark Clements To this day, Agatha Christie remains a titan of her genre, with sixty-six detective novels to her name, alongside countless other literary works. But arguably her greatest creation of all time happens to be a small, unassuming Belgian man named Hercule Poirot. Dubbed “the greatest detective in the world,” he became a fan favorite for over a century, solving mysteries across fifty-five years of Christie’s writing, including a novel called Murder on the Orient Express. As many of you probably know, this show was originally slated for the winter of 2020—but like the Orient Express itself, we got a bit derailed. While our original plan was for this show to warm you up on a cold winter night, we’re delighted now for this production to close our 2021/22 Season and launch you into what will hopefully be a sunny and joyful summer. It’s been a long year for us all, and we couldn’t be prouder of how much we’ve accomplished this year—or more grateful to all of you for supporting and championing us during this tumultuous time. Murder on the Orient Express—a show that’s equal parts thrilling, thought-provoking, and entertaining—is a celebration and thank you to cap off a successful season. We hope you enjoy the “final stop” on our 2021/22 Season tour—and that you’ll join us again for the theatrical journey we will embark upon next season! This current 2021/22 Season has been an extremely challenging and sometimes frustrating one for both Milwaukee Rep staff, and you our audiences, who without your support we would be nothing. Hopefully though the work on stage, even if at certain times you were not able to see it all for reasons beyond our control, continued to offer world-class productions, that is only made possible with your continued support. That fact is never lost on us and I thank you again in advance for keeping your passion alive for Milwaukee Rep, and supporting us in our 2022/23 Season and beyond. Cheers,

Murder on the Orient Express
