Espejos: Clean received a rolling world premiere production in March 2022 between South Coast Repertory (Costa Mesa, CA, USA) and Neworld Theatre (Vancouver, BC, Canada). Clean-Espejos was developed and workshopped with the support of The Lab at South Coast Repertory (2021 Pacific Playwrights Festival), Neworld Theatre (Vancouver), Theatre Aspen (Solo Flights Festival), and Tarragon Theatre (Urjo Kareda Residency, Toronto), and received additional support from Aluna Theatre (Toronto), the Playwrights Lab at the Banff Centre the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council (Canada).

Regina is an awardwinning Mexican actress from Cancun and a Stella Adler Studio of Acting alumna. She has toured nationally in Sugar Skull (4 tours) and El Otro Oz (2 tours), produced by Rhythm of the Arts and TheaterWorks USA. Regina received the LATA Award for Best Actress in Drama for her role as Tia Eugenia in How to Melt ICE, produced by Boundless Theater Company and New Perspectives Theatre Company. A passionate Artivist, Regina enjoys material that challenges social and political issues. She is thrilled to make her Milwaukee Rep debut. Christine Quintana Playwright
Born in Los Angeles to a Mexican-American father and a Dutch-British Canadian mother, Christine is now a grateful visitor to the unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh people (also known as Vancouver). Creation/ Performing highlights include Espejos: Clean (translated and adapted by Paula Zelaya Cervantes), premiere with Neworld Theatre and South Coast Repertory; Never The Last (co-created with Molly MacKinnon), produced by Delinquent Theatre, recipient of five Jessie Richardson Theatre Award nominations and winner of Significant Artistic Achievement; Selfie (Governor General’s Award nominee, winner of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding TYA Play, the Sydney Risk Prize for Outstanding Script by an Emerging Playwright, and the Tom Hendry award for TYA). Her writing has been translated and performed in Spanish, French, ASL, and German. She was honored with the 2017 Siminovitch Protégé Prize for Playwriting from Marcus Youssef and holds a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of British Columbia.
Paula Zelaya Cervantes

Mexican playwright, screenwriter, director, and translator Paula Zelaya-Cervantes graduated from UBC in Vancouver, Canada, with a double major in Theatre and Honours English Literature thanks to the support of the International Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship granted to only thirteen students worldwide each year. Paula has written and directed several plays including The Orbweaver/ El Hilador (Teatro Helénico 2018, Mexico City; Vancouver Fringe Festival International Mainstage Selection, 2016) and 245 Acts of Unspeakable Evil, which she co-wrote with Ana González Bello and which won the Latino National Playwright Award granted by the Arizona Theatre Company and the Sharon Enkin Play for Young People Award granted by the Playwright’s Guild of Canada. Paula has adapted and translated close to thirty plays, several of which she has also directed.

Juliette has directed critically acclaimed premiere and revival productions in theaters across the country, including Oregon Shakespeare Festival; Mark Taper Forum; South Coast Repertory; Yale Repertory; Denver Theater Center; Arena Stage and Seattle Rep. Her Canadian world premiere, Carmen Aguirre’s Anywhere But Here in Vancouver, B.C. was produced by The Electric Company and starred Christine Quintana, author of Espejo: Clean. He is a Wisconsin based lighting designer and stage manager whose recent local design credits include Buyer and Cellar (Renaissance Theaterworks), The Fisherman’s Daughters (Northern Sky Theater), A Gift of the Magi (Third Avenue Playworks), and A Doll’s House (Milwaukee Chamber Theatre). He is a graduate of UC-Irvine’s MFA Lighting Design program, and his recent California credits include Metamorphoses (South Coast Repertory) and Agnes of God (Morgan-Wixson Theatre). A New York and Chicago based projection designer, Paul’s work has been seen at Goodman Theatre, The Muny, Asolo Rep, The Second City, En Garde Arts, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Paramount Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre, Court Theatre, American Blues Theater, The Neo-Futurists, Jackalope Theatre Company, Mosaic Theatre Company, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and many others. He is the recipient of 2 Joseph Jefferson Awards, the 1999 Sportsman of the Year Award on his tee-ball team. Paul holds a B.A. in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago and an M.F.A. in Projection & Multimedia from the University of Maryland. An Evening with Dean Martin (Milwaukee Rep); The Servant of Two Masters (Marquette University); Romeo and Juliet (Ohio University); Pippin (Ohio Valley Summer Theater); and the Associate Director for Titanic the Musical and A Christmas Carol (Milwaukee Rep). María Amenábar Farias
Associate Director / Casting Director
María is a director/producer/theater artist from Guatemala City, Guatemala. She currently serves as the Artistic Producing Associate at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and has previously worked with Indiana Repertory Theater, the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival and the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Favorite directing credits include How I Learned to Drive, Good Kids, Mud, The Thanksgiving Play, Fairview, Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical and Heathers: The Musical. For over 35 years, Bill has worked professionally as a Stage Manager, Actor and Fight Choreographer. Working mainly in the Southeastern part of the US, this is his first venture in the Midwest! Mark is an awardwinning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season. Mark has directed over 30 productions at Milwaukee Rep including World and American Premieres, his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol and all but two mainstage musicals including Run Bambi Run, Titanic the Musical, West Side Story and Dreamgirls. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the award-winning Derby Playhouse in the UK where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He created and directed the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its World Premiere in an upcoming season.

Chad joined Milwaukee Rep in 2013. Since, the theater has produced more than 130 productions, raised nearly $100 million through 3 capital campaigns, launched a new A Christmas Carol and the Jack Lewis New Play Development Program, began construction on the Associated Bank Theater Center and quadrupled net assets operating without a deficit for 11 years. Bauman has been named Top 40 under 40 by the Milwaukee Business Journal, a Champion of the Hispanic Community by the United Community Center, and a notable LGBTQ Executive and Non-Profit CEO of the Year by Milwaukee BizTimes. He is a doctoral student in Organizational Leadership at UNC Chapel Hill and a graduate of Brown University’s Leadership Coaching Program, Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management Program, and CalArt’s MFA Producing Program.
