Introduction of Case Study The precedent study that we have chosen was a 2-storey bungalow situated in Kulaijaya, Johor Darul Takzim. The extension of the bungalow is done by Ar. Phua where the original size of the house is extended around one third of its original size. The house comprises of living area, dining area, dry & wet kitchen, prayer room, 1 Master bedroom, 2 normal bedroom, 3 bathroom and 1 guest room. There is a gateway extended out from the bungalow connecting the elongated car porch with the building. In addition, a small gazebo is situated at the backyard of the building connecting rectangular garden stones. Through the structural studies of selected precedent, the knowledge of building structure has been developed. The project also allows us to understand modern structural construction nowadays with a series of analysis and research on the spaces through drawing, calculating and referencing.
