EXPLORE

Welcome While you’re making your housing decision, keep in mind that at Minnesota State Mankato, the residence communities are a lot more than just a place to sleep. The residence communities are grouped into five communities: Crawford, McElroy, Julia A. Sears, Preska, and Stadium Heights. Each has distinctive characteristics, inspired in part by location, design and the different cultural or academic learning community programs housed within. Each offers services designed to make life on campus easier and more convenient.

A Maverick Mentor lives on each floor in Crawford. Mentors are upper-class students at Minnesota State Mankato and assist residents in their academic transition to college. Creating study groups, having one-on-one conversations about academic goals and resources, planning faculty review sessions, and implementing several academic incentive and reward programs are just a few of the many ways Mentors and CAs contribute to the academic culture of Crawford. 9

McElroy Residence Community The four halls of McElroy—E, F, G, and H—are joined by a central corridor leading to the front desk, Preska and Carkoski Commons. Approximately 800 residents live in McElroy, including students enrolled in a Learning Community.
