Material: 100% wool Size: 130x200cm Technique: Weaved in traditional loom Supervisor: Imbi Ilves & Merlin Kruusel 2017

General in weaving I am inspired of the traditional symbols and motifs from Scandic, Sámi and Baltic cultures and I like to mix them with modern styles, colors and materials. “Something new, something borrowed”

TAPESTRY / GOBELIN In my erasmus is Estonian Academy of Arts, I attended to tapestry course. First we learned the technique and final work subject was potrait. JOURNEY TO POWERANIMAL - EXHIBITION When I was studying in Vocational College Lappia back in 2010, as a final project, I made an installation called “Journey to Poweranimal”, where I studied shamanism. That was an extension to my earlier school project “The Shaman’s momoment”. Technique: Statues: wire, gypsum, paper mache. Painting: acrylics on canvas Supervisors: Annika Rytkönen & Eeva Koivumaa

The exhibition is about a moment when Erkki is calling his power animal and the wolf has heard it and came to him.

SHAMAN DRUM

As a Såmi, me and my mom had learned how to make a traditional S’ami shaman drum. The frames and reindeer leather we order from another company but we do the rest.

Each of the symbol have their own meaning. Depending on customer, I choose fitting symbols for drum.
