Installing the Software
TX3-MSW Software Guide
To install the TX3-MSW Telephone and Card Access Software, • Double click the cursor on the icon of the installer exe on the TX3-MSW Software CD, or • Use the Windows Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs install feature. Follow the instructions on the screen. Once it is installed, you can run the program by clicking the icon.
Connecting the Hardware Direct Connect Method (using the USB) Connect the USB of your PC to the USB connector on the TX3 Entry Panel board.
Note: If your entry panel is configured as a Non-Subscriber Line (NSL), skip to Creating an NSL Tenant Database on page 5.
Dial-Up Method (Using Modem) Connect the modem on your PC to a standard telephone line. Connect the dedicated telephone line at the Entry Panel to the telephone jack connector on the TX3-MDM Modem board (which is mounted over the main Entry Panel board or in a stand-alone Card Access system is mounted on the main card access board).
Opening/Creating A Job File 1. Open the TX3-MSW Telephone and Card Access Software by clicking the icon on your desktop. You will be prompted for a User Name and Password (as shown below). The default for User Name is “administrator”. 2.
There is no default password, click OK.
Note: Remember to set the user password, once you have logged into the system.

Opening/Creating A Job File

3. Click “New Job” located in the upper left corner under “File” on main window. The following window displays.
4. Type a new file name in the File name window. 5. Click OK.

Creating an ADC Tenant Database The name of the file that is opened displays across the top of the main window. To enter tenant names click “Residents” on the job tree, then select “Edit” and then “Add Residents”. The following window displays.

Enter total number of residents to program (shown as 10) Enter resident name (shown as NewName) Enter 4-digit starting dial code (shown as 2000) Enter starting keyless code (shown as 10000) Enter starting Relay code (for NSL only) Click OK when finished

Note: When finished programming tenant records, skip to Establishing a Direct Connection on page 7. Records may be added, edited or deleted as desired.
Editing Records To edit the resident info, select the resident and double click on it or right click and select edit. Change any of the resident info as required. Add the telephone number for ADC. The following window displays.
Place the cursor on any field you wish to edit and enter the new information.
Note: You cannot have a duplicate resident’s name and/or a duplicate dial code.

Creating an NSL Tenant Database
Note: If your entry panel is configured as an Auto-Dialer (ADC), go to Creating an ADC Tenant Database on page 3. The name of the file that is opened displays across the top of the main window. To enter tenant names click “Residents”, then select “Edit and Add Residents”. The following window displays.

Creating an NSL Tenant Database
Editing Records Records may be Added, Edited or Deleted as desired. To edit records, double click on the resident in the resident list. The following window displays.
• You can edit resident’s name • Enter resident apartment number • Edit the 4-digit resident dial code (for dial codes fewer than 4 digits, precede with 0’s, e.g. 0003) • Edit resident relay code (is determined by location of wires on BIX block) • Select ring pattern • Edit resident keyless code • Enter elevator address and elevator code • Click OK when finished

Establishing a USB Connection Note: For Modem connections, skip to Establishing a Modem Connection on page 9.
For Direct Cable Connection Operation 1. From the TX3 main window place cursor on PC connection.
2. Select “USB”. 3. Verify the Entry Panel Address (ID) by checking the SW2 DIP switch settings on the main board of the entry panel you are configuring. Refer to the TX3 Installation and Operation Manual for the DIP switch settings.

4. Note the panel address (ID) and select the same entry panel address (ID) in the TX3-MSW software. Click the “Panel 1” on the left pane and the address will show on the right side as shown below (in this case 2).
5. Connect the USB cable from the computer to the USB conection on the entry panel board. 6. Click on the “USB” icon on the top picture menu to connect. It will give you a connected message. 7. When finished adding, editing and deleting within the job file select the “Right Arrow “ icon on the top picture menu to “Send Job to Panels” or download the configuration to the entry panel.

Establishing a Modem Connection Note: For Direct connections, go to Establishing a Direct Connection on page 7.
For Modem (TX3-MDM)Operation 1. From the TX3 main window select “Network” on the left side. The window below displays. 2. Mover cursor to PC Connection and select “Modem”. 3. Type the telephone number that the TX3 Entry panel is using. 4. Click OK to continue.
Note: The panel address (ID) in the TX3-MSW software must be set correctly in order to Upload or Download data. 5. Verify the entry panel address (ID) by checking the SW2 DIP switch settings on the main board of the entry panel you have connected to. Refer to the TX3 Installation and Operation Manual for the DIP switch settings. 6. The entry panel address (ID) must be the same as the entry panel address ID in the TX3 software. 7. Click USB icon on the main window screen top menu to connect. 8. “Dialing” message is displayed near the bottom of the screen, then when connected, the message will state the panel number and its online status. 9
Downloading Data (Send Job from PC to Entry Panel)
Downloading Data (Send Job from PC to Entry Panel) 1. Move the cursor to the “Right Arrow/Send” icon. Note that it will overwrite existing information on the entry panel. 2. Click “Right Arrow” to download to the TX3 Entry Panel. The online events window at the bottom of the screen will display the download progress as shown below.

Uploading Data (Get Job from Entry Panel to PC) 1. Click the “Left Arrow/Get” button. Note that it will over-write records that have the same entry panel address (ID) in the database file. 2. Click “OK” to continue.You will be prompted to create job name and description.
3. Click “OK” to upload or get job. Below the screen capture shows the online event window which display the “get job” progress.

Changing Entry Panel Parameters 1. Click “Panel 1 (Lobby)� to view the parameters of the panel programmed. 2. The Messages are shown, click on a line to edit the current settings of the entry panel display message:

Troubleshooting Guide Pop Up Error Message “Unable to connect to USB device. Please unplug and plug in the USB cable again.” Common causes: Users unplug the USB cable when the PC is still communicating with the panel or the USB driver is not installed properly. Solution: Unplug and then plug in the USB cable again. If still not working, restart the application. If not working once again, re-install the application.
Error Message “Panel xxxxxxx (address x) is a wrong controller type” Common causes: The panel type or model the user is trying to connect to is different from the configuration. Solution: Check the actual model of the panel (e.g. Lobby unit 8-Line). Delete the incorrect panel item from the configurator tree then add the correct panel item.
Error Message “Panel xxxxxxx (address) not responding” Common causes: Incorrect address DIP switch setting on the panel’s main board. Solution: Check the DIP switches address setting of all panels and set them correctly. Make sure the addresses match the addresses on the configurator tree. Try to connect again.
Resident Data Error Resident data does not get programmed to the panel even after the job is sent. Common causes: No panel phone line is assigned to the resident. Solution: Edit resident details. Under “Select lobby line(s) to connect to this resident”, select a phone line on the drop down list.
