Private Residence Hampstead, London

The garden was designed to complement a contemporary renovation of an Edwardian House in the Hampstead conservation area, whilst remaining true to the original architectural style through the use of high-end natural materials and bespoke handmade construction for all the garden elements. The main body of the garden has at its centre a fine formal lawn flanked by tall Hornbeam columns – elements that lead the eye to the end of the vista, which is enclosed by a sculptural Yew hedging. All the spaces have been designed not just to be enjoyed in the daylight, but also at nighttime. Furthermore, to accentuate the sculpture pieces and specimen, these spaces were precisely designed with discrete lighting fixtures, which gently glide one from space to space.

Private Terraced Residence Chester Square, Belgravia, London

This luxurious terraced house dwells in the centre of Belgravia. The client’s brief was to use a series of existing terraces to create mini gardens; a quiet retreat from the busy city centre. The basement courtyard is carefully detailed, as it has an influence on the visual connectivity of the whole scheme. Italian sawn sandstone slabs are laid to the ground, incorporating discrete drainage and trims. To the east of the basement a green living wall with an integrated water feature is attached to the party wall of the adjacent property. The up-lit water feature is envisaged to form a centerpiece, seen from the master library, and framed by the luscious vegetation. The upper dining terrace forms a midlevel room with a character of its own, nevertheless, cognisant of the treatments in neighbouring spaces. As throughout, the paving comprises a smooth finished stone. The contemporary timber trellis and classic rhythm of vegetative columns were designed with detail to disguise inconsistences in wall heights and visibility of drainage structures. Custom made classic timber boxes combine the elements and are planted with flowering perennials. To the western wall a trellis cabinet contains the Condensing Unit and acts as storage for a barbeque. Horizontal trellis and fragrant climbers form a backdrop to this area. The terraces are furnished with Dedon Barcelona sofas, side tables, and Sutherland Peninsular dining table.

Four levels landscape proposals

Boutique Hotel Aleppo, Syria

The client's brief was to redesign the external spaces within the family-run five star boutique hotel, which includes several courtyard spaces, terraces, and a rooftop garden restaurant. The design for each space centres on the oriental architectural features of the hotel and the fantastic views of the Citadel of Aleppo. At the inner entrance stands a striking eight-meter clear stem palm, surrounding various courtyards with lavish water features and loose organic planting that create a vibrant oasis within the hotel. The roof top restaurant is designed to create the feeling of being within a garden, with planters, a cocktail bar, and a glass water wall defining the space and framing the magnificent views out to the Citadel. The inspiration for the canopies was to create shade by using Arabic tent-sails and ensuring a sense of timelessness, given the historic location yet imbuing the design with a feeling of modernity.

Private Villa

Eastern Mediterranean

The landscape masterplan proposals aim to create a hierarchy of spaces creating private gardens of varying size, some enclosed, others opening out to the vistas across the Mediterranean. A series of pedestrian paths wind through private spaces and woodland to the beachfront. The scheme has been designed to enhance the existing Mediterranean woodland and beach experience where possible. The proposal also includes the incorporation of a substantial pavilion for light entertainment and smaller intimate gazebos for private relaxation and solitude.

Luxury Residential Complex Yekaterinburg, Russia

The client was looking to provide a natural landscape at the heart of this luxury residential development over the rooftop of the new spa and wellness centre. The design compliments the lifestyle promoted for the residential complex and provides an additional attraction for future residents. The project's design provides a small park for residents over and around the new health spa, turning this leftover space into a green oasis in the heart of the city and a visual backdrop to the new apartments. Gardens with water features and playgrounds laid out as places for adventure for children as well as a relaxing place for the enjoyment of all residents. The courtyard provides a focus, especially, at festival times such as the Russian Winter and Spring Festivals. As the landscape is frozen and under deep snow for many months, this roof-top scheme provides a design which would function equally well and be beautiful in both summer and for half the year under snow in the winter.

Private Residence Winnington Road, London

The design challenge for this project was to create a spectacular and luxurious garden for a newly built house, which rests on one of the most prestigious streets of Hampstead. The main features of the garden are spacious lawn, water cascade and classic grand staircase, which were designed to accommodate site’s steep falls. Custom designed and made wrought iron railings, niches with waterspouts and classic sculptures accentuate classic design of the garden and the house. Rows of cube shaped trees underplanted with a Buxus clipped tableaus and herbaceous plants are bordering the garden, providing structure to the scheme. Natural living lap pool and timber pavilion next to it give to the client panoramic view of the garden; they also provide ample spaces for entertaining, dining and lounging. Open lightwell to the basement level is framed with a green living wall, which creates a setting to the colourful composition of exotic plants and custom made pendant ornamental chandelier. With a large circular driveway in front of the house and grounds dappled with cloud shaped shrubs and contrasting herbaceous underplanting, there’s an immediate sense of romantic elegance that is welcoming and casual.

Private Residence Moscow, Russia

The client's brief was to design a private garden, setting it within an existing area of the riverside meadow and birch grove. His request was to design a garden that felt like it had always been there; therefore, the concept was to create a natural woodland garden that would meld into the surrounding countryside landscape. A series of large wooden terraces descend into the garden, forming seating and entertainment spaces in the forest. The natural atmosphere is further emphasized by the inclusion of a shallow stream, which meanders through the garden. Further, through the use of natural local materials and detailed in a sophisticated and yet rusticated way, the landscape vision was achieved.
