WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH YOU
The MIS Scholarship Programme intentionally curates a school community representative of greater socio-economic diversity. Through our scholarships, we provide students who demonstrate close alignment with our values and mission with an education aimed at equipping learners to make a positive impact in a complex and changing world – regardless of their parents’ background.
THE PURPOSE
The MIS Scholarship is intended to serve talented students from under-represented backgrounds.
We believe in the power of representation. We believe that diversity is an engine to foster a vibrant educational environment. We believe that increasing socio-economic representation will provide different, new or necessary perspectives.
This endeavor requires and is based on philanthropic engagement, offering a direct way for community members to contribute, to collaborate, and to create a more inclusive and impactful educational environment.

MIS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME WHAT IT PROVIDES
MIS Scholarship Programme covers all fees for attendance, essential equipment, extracurricular activities, and even transport.
Tailored for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, the four years programme offers a two-stage journey:
• preparation & integration phase (during grade 9 and 10)
• two years IB phase, ensuring academic excellence and holistic development (grade 11 and 12)
This opportunity is open to both new and existing students who meet the MIS selection criteria. We believe in nurturing talent wherever it exists.
THE IB LEARNER PROFILE
The IB Learner profile underpins everything we do in an IB school and describes the overall development of the student –academic, social, physical, and emotional:
• Inquirers show curiosity and actively engage in learning
• Thinkers make good choices and apply this to their work
• Risk-takers attempt new things that have not been done before
• Caring towards the needs and feelings of others
• Knowledgeable in many things
• Open-minded by being receptive to new ideas
• Balanced by keeping the mind and body performing at their best

• Reflective when thinking about learning and behavior
WHO SHOULD APPLY
ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants to the MIS Scholarship programme must meet all the criteria listed below:
• completed grade 8 or grade 9 at a German gymnasium or similar international Institution
• must live in the Munich area
• have academic records for 3 consecutive years
• have the maturity, drive, energy, and self-sufficiency to succeed in unfamiliar circumstances
• applicants must have at least intermediate academic English proficiency
• participate in at least two extracurricular activities
• have the support of their families
• demonstrated financial need
The Assessment process is designed to identify if the candidate embodies the IB learner profile. MIS will host an information session webinar for interested students and families. The candidate prepares the application which includes and demonstrates the following criteria:
The applicant shall provide TRANSCRIPTS from the last two school years.
We expect our scholars to take part in EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES whether students are drawn to sports, arts, or social engagement. The applicant shall subit proof of involvement in such activities.
The applicant is invited to submit A MOTIVATION VIDEO to understand their unique motivations. The video is integral to our assessment process.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
The applicant shall provide at least two RECOMMENDATION LETTERS, by a supervisor, educator or coach. These letters offer invaluable insights into the candidate’s character, work ethic, and potential for growth.
The last stage of our selection process is INTERVIEWS WITH FINAL CANDIDATES BY THE MIS SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE, comprised of the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, Senior School Principal, Chair of the Board, a Board Member, and a teacher. Applicants are evaluated e.g., in the areas of English-language skills, social-emotional development, organizational and study skills, and overall fit for the MIS IB Programme. The members of the MIS Scholarship Committee will assess the academic readiness, emotional intelligence, etc. to assure that the scholarship recipients excel in their studies and also contribute meaningfully to our MIS community.
SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS SUPPORTING THE SCHOLAR
MIS will support the scholar by:
• Mentoring - MIS Counsellors will provide emotional and educational mentoring
• Evaluating - student academic progress will be monitored
• Assessing Community Impact - ensuring the student explores and cultivates their talents and builds community
