Miss Caribbean UK Queen 2016

M

y experience as Miss Caribbean UK 2016 Queen represents a power we have as human beings to reach our goals and dreams. I believe that I have been part of a new generation of young adults who have tried to make a difference in the World. This past Year, Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve had the opportunity to work with charities and organisations very close to my heart. I will continue to pursue my goals throughout next Year which is when I will be taking a trip to the beautiful island that I am representing, Barbados! I will then have a chance to meet with the President of Barbados; The Rt. Hon. Freundel J. Stuart, connect with their charities and various organisations, conduct interviews at the various Barbados media outlets-such as newspapers, TV & radio, and welcome the opportunity to give an inspirational talks to the to the next generation of school children which means a lot to me. Being the 2016 Queen of Miss Caribbean UK has given me countless unforgettable experiences. But my best was meeting and dining with some of my favourite Afro Caribbean celebrities such as; Malachi Kirby from

Roots, and Sandi Bogle from GoggleBox at the 12th Screen Nation Film & TV Awards 2017. A surreal moment but I was truly grateful. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m also fortunate that God has BLESSED me with people who believe in my personality and abilities. THANK YOU to my beautiful family; my Mum, my Auntie Jackie, my Uncle Selvin, my talented dress designer; Devon Johnson, my mentor; Natina-Mae Whitter, my guiding star; Harry Ashby and last but not least, Jacqui & Clayton Brown, (founders of Miss Caribbean UK), for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I value this experience as one of the greatest gifts that life has provided me so far. I have evolved as a person, have definitely matured within and my confidence has grown immensely. And so, my message to the next Miss Caribbean UK Queen would be: TAKE advantage of this grand opportunity, NOTE that this is the beginning of a promising journey with the possibility of a brilliant future and REMEMBER that the rest is up to you!
